I genuinely believe if Sony remade Resistance (and Killzone for that matter) the sales would be better than the original releases. I can only imagine the low sales is what made them step away from both titles. It seems to be a common opinion that Sony needs some fps titles and with the flop of Concord I think they need to look to the past. If you can’t come up with a new IP in the fps genre then why not remake an IP you already own and has an established fan base. I for one would absolutely pay full price for either games to be fully remade for PS5/PC. I know insomniac is tied up in Marvel games but look at Silent Hill 2. Remade more than 20 years later by an entirely different team/studio and they NAILED it. Used Bloober team and Capcom as inspiration for how to handle the remakes. Hire a competent team, give them a solid budget, time and step back. 30M/ea for Killzone 1 and Resistance: Fall of Man and you will absolutely turn and profit. You’ll bring back old fans, create new fans and if executed well enough we will all be hungry for more. 😭 Shit I’ll settle for just porting sly 2 to modern systems at this point…
I've been Facebook free since 2013. Other Social media sites like Twitter ( X) never grabbed me. So it's only Discord and steam when connecting with like minded actual friends. Made me almost FOMO free except when RU-vid shows the degeneration of the Gaming industry. Now as a GenX gamer I watch these mega corps ruin what for most of my life was my relaxation and fun. Time to back to the yard and fields and enjoy nature.

I really think that the whole “Halo Killer” was entirely made up by and pushed by the gaming media. 100% certain there wasn’t a single thought in the minds of any Insomniac employees while building it that they were trying to make a “Halo killer” whatsoever. I really think they saw the popularity of early 2000’s WW2 shooters (MoH / CoD / etc), and also saw some good sci fi shooters (Halo / Half Life / Killzone / Gears, etc), and decided to make a fusion of the two. And I think if that was their “target”, they hit it perfectly. If it was trying to be some high octane response to the Halo franchise, I can see why it was a let down by comparison. But I don’t think it ever intended to be that.
Fomo is not a problem, YOU are the problem if you csnt handel it. Fomo is a good tool used to get engagement fromplayers, if you cant handel it then ither dont play the game or re evaluate your life
It definitely wasn’t a halo killer but it was damn good at what it did and it nailed the atmosphere it was going for. I’ll admit Halo is a better series but I personally prefer the setting, lore, and gameplay of the Resistance universe.
I recently beat resistance 3, and i beat resistance 2 over two months ago. In short i had a great time playing them for the most part. It's been years since i played fall of man, i'm thinking about getting another copy of it, so i can revisit the game.

I have no other social media I look at and I actually don't use PC for web browsing at all. With both YT and Google News I'm always afraid that someone will spoil my enjoyment with a game. It may be anything. Reviews, lists, titles and thumbnails with spoilers etc. Even positive opinions make me think while I play about what others liked about it instead of just enjoying my game. So although I do like gaming communities and seeing what others play and have fun with I'm choosing my own game play enjoyment over my enjoyment of watching other people enjoy games... Does that make sense 🤣? This is going to be my last YT video I watch. I'll try for a month and I'll see how it works. No swipes to Google News also! Wish me luck 😉.
A cross-over game would be sick ngl, Xbox don't have a. "mascot" apart from like Halo so if it was a 3 way game with a main series would be cool free on all aswell or like a way to get it for free on all if you have subscriptions and also a way to pay for it, It ddepends, Won't happen but a good idea, In whichI wish came true, In the game you play as Astro, Kirby and a character from halo and different characters throughout on any of the 3 main new consoles with a lot of features/mechanics.

Many of my friends on there have since vanished (and I definitely miss them) leaving me alone. That was a few years back. Since then, twitter has only been miserable. Very good video! Thanks for your work. Resistance is my favourite Sony IP ever and you made a very good overview what was making this franchise so good. I really hope some day we see a new entry in the franchise. In my opinion the best way would be to release a PS5 Remaster for all three campaigns and also the 8-player Coop mode followed by an complete Reboot cause to much time has passed since Resistance 3. Hopefully some day Resistance is coming back. #wearetheresistance ❤
Hey! Seing this 2 years later really shows how people overhyped the game... The fact that you like being rewarded cars after each races is not really a good thing. If you played the games before the PS4 era, you will see what is the actual career mode.
What I found most annoying (I do not think the story or voices are a huge drawback since the gameplay is most important) is the fact that some things are just not telegraphed well. During the second main Boss fight, it took me a while to realise what to do since it didn't initially work and I assumed I had to do something else.

I unfortunately didn’t play these games since growing up I just had Shrexbox and Nintendo. Thankfully, I’d be able to emulate on my Steam Deck. I’ve been wanting to play Sony’s “Halo Killers” for a while now (we all know the true Halo Killer was itself under 343. Also, in an attempt to keep up with Halo, Killzone killed itself as well with Shadowfall😂). It’s definitely interesting how the Resistance changed radically as the series went on. You’d think they would’ve refined Fall of Man’s systems instead of changing the way health/weapons work each entry. I’m sure I’d like 3 the most since it’s basically Half-Life 2 with the serial numbers filed off (one of the chapters is literally just Ravenholm). It would be AWESOME if we could get Dead Space/Resident Evil style remakes that remain mostly faithful, but apply various improvements to the story/gameplay. Sadly, the chances of that are VERY low since we know from the Insomniac leaks that NOTHING Resistance related is in the pipeline, Sunset Overdrive 2 isn’t happening, there’s only one Ratchet and Clank game slated for the future, and now Insomniac are just relegated to Sony’s Marvel games factory (kind of like how Raven Software made a lot of original stuff, but now Activision have them working exclusively as a CoD support studio). Plus, there’s no real incentive for Sony to bring back their shooters since Halo and other Xbox exclusives will inevitably go to PlayStation. The ONLY way I can see this returning is if they have someone else make it, or if they make MCC style collections for their older games (with Lego Horizon going to Switch we could potentially see Sky Cooper, Ratchet and Clank, and other Sony platformers go to Switch since they’ll definitely sell better there). Even though the chances of us getting a series of remakes are pretty much nonexistent it’s still fun to speculate and brainstorm on what that could look like. Something I’d want in a remake is to give Hale a voice and have him interact with the other characters to better flesh out his character, like how Isaac was given a voice in the Dead Space remake. Use the magic of hindsight to better foreshadow the events of future titles, link the spinoffs/books/games, and tie things in with later lore so the setting feels more cohesive. Have weapons/enemy types from future titles appear where appropriate to better flesh out the gameplay. For health you’d keep the partially regenerating system Fall of Man has, but bump it up to 6 bars towards the end of the game and throw in non-regenerating armor pickups (2 would carry this over and a weapon wheel. Replacing the weapon wheel both went against what Fall of Man setup, and Insomniac didn’t implement it properly. The reason it works in Halo is because you get access to a good chunk of the sandbox for most of the game. In 2/3 you can dual wield small arms. If you hold onto a power weapon you’ll occasionally be rewarded with ammo for it later. And in 2 onwards you had both weapon/ammo crates to replenish your supply, and could swap weapons with the ai. If 2 properly implemented this it would’ve been fine). Add vehicle sections to 2/3. Sure, they were janky and half baked, but if Insomniac stayed the course I’m sure they could’ve made something really cool. A big chunk of why Bungie’s Halo was so popular and fondly remembered is because they did an excellent job weaving on foot and vehicle sections to break up the normal encounters and make the series less repetitive. Backport weapon upgrades to 1/2, and make guns function like the best versions of themselves. In addition to that throw in the multiplayer component like you mentioned (speaking of multiplayer, some crazy people got it working and you can play it with a modded PS3).
I struggle with wishlisting so many games in the moment thinking they look interesting, then forgetting about them by the time they release. Or playing a lot of older games despite me personally not enjoying sitting at my laptop to play on emulation. I dont know what it is but when I only get genuinely legitimately excited for 1 new game and another remaster/expansion of an old favorite I find something is wrong and go straight to youtube to look for answers and just end up spending hours there when im not at work. Going whole days not playing anything but watching people be negative on youtube. It sucks and I just want to go back to enjoying games the way I used to. The first one on my radar doesn't come out until October, and the other comes out next year. So that means I should have plenty of time to explore and broaden my genre horizons like I've wanted to. At least that's what I think that means.
in general i feel like once you grow older you just stop caring about social media and the general discourse of the masses. when it comes to social media i do sometimes look at my recommendations and wonder "who gives a shit?" like luke stephens and asmondgold are nice guys and can be funny, but at the same time i fail to see why i should listen to their opinion. like why should i care about the opinion of some WOW streamer living in his own filth, about some dumb trend in the industry (that often doesn't even affect him since he only ever plays wow or souls games) or the opinions of some dude that basicly reads news articles to me? i can click on that forbes article just fine by myself. both never actually worked in the industry. i might as well ask what some random dude in the comments thinks about it. as i grew older i also completly lost interest in keeping up with the new games discourse online. like why would i give a shit what some dude on the other side of the world thinks? i will never interact with this person again. as far as i see it he is just some text on my screen that will never go beyond that. voice chats are a bit different cause i can sometimes more directly connect with that person and basicly move them beyond just being that "one-time" text on my screen, but that's not that common. most of the game related talks i have online now are usualy with other older gamers and mostly focused on our love for resident evil, quake, metroid, zelda etc. basicly old men bonding over their childhood. as for the other stuff, i can just not summon the care to debate someone over dumb manchild shit all the time. just remember to remind yourself once in awhile that these arguements online don't matter. you don't have to care about a 17 year olds favorite toybox and if it's the same toybox that you run your software on. you don't have to be right there at day 1 to talk about some dumb game either. just enjoy yourself.
Couldn’t agree anymore than I already do. I can tell you definitely aged wisely. Great perspective. Now I met a new friend 😂. Wish more people adopted this mentality. Also, I think older gamer talks are so underrated. I am quickly realizing how much I miss those and how much I took it for granted many many years ago when social media was brand new. I wish I could go back and ask those old timers more about their time as gamers. Even pen and paper gamers. But when you’re young, you think you’re the main character, etc etc.
We need more videos like this. Good on you for reviewing these games years later. I have to ask, when did you play RFOM online? Because the way you describe it sounds like you must have got into it late when the player base had dropped off significantly. I know it's tough to detail the experience because we're years removed from it, but RFOM had everything back in the earlier days. There may have been other games with more players, but those that did play frequently were as competitive as they come. R2 is also a great game, especially for co-op, but that's the one that lacked some of the fundamentals and was a bit too ambitious. Ted Price even later remarked that one of the reasons for the decline of the series was due to the change in format between 1 and 2 and again with R3. Anyway, you still did well to bring some more attention where it's needed.
It's not even bad. People been asking about "a survivor horror like the ones from the past" and when they get it, they complain and bitch about it. I fucking loved the game, the soundtrack alone and the mood it brings is *chef's kiss
I just got this game and it is great. All the updates etc have helped it but at its core it is a good game. I am actually a pretty good guy player for example I do not need any help or telling me when to break as I mastered gt4 but this game is fresh it is really like real driving and the fast cars are really fast!

I unistall the ps4 version, reeboot the ps5 and nothing...disc ...3 points show the complet edition...even so i click again 3 points and show wild hunt 29.99... so installing the normal from disc 😕😕
@prsplaying5508 this might have to do with the regioning of the your disc which might not the same region as your account, so you need to create a new account corresponding to the region of the disc and then it will work and you can download the next-gen copy and after it finishes installing activate that account and go back to your main one and play the game
My young brother, my younger sister, and my younger cousin played Crash Bandicoot games. And we also played Spyro the Dragon games as well. Those were good times.

Yah I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it given the mixed reception. This is the OG OG of survival horror and RE wouldn’t be here without it. And it’s ok for it not to be an RE clone, which people seem to be docking points from it for not aspiring to be. The detective noire style and vibe of the game is awesome. And I’m a sucker for a horror title set in old timey New Awwwwwlens. Well worth the price of admission.
