Welcome to my art channel and The Desk Corner! Here I post realistic art tutorials, reviews, demonstrations and other fun, art-related content. I hope I manage to make videos that are helpful, informative and entertaining at the same time. Thanks for supporting the channel :)
Gatekeeping can come in so many forms, and while rejection is inevitable, my (maybe counter-intuitive) guidance that always seems to help is in those moments of frustration, and let's face it, sometimes despair--uplift others. When you offer assistance or help someone else out of any kind of jam or problem it transforms your attention and gets you focused on solutions and next steps from a place of generosity and strength. It's a powerful thing!
Stumbled apon your video and happy I did.. You showing all the different pencils and what they do side by side was what I was looking for. Thank you! Keep it up 🤙
Hi, which grade would you recommend for beginner? I don't wanna buy the whole thing. I'm mostly gonna do simple sketches from life. I don't like very realistic drawings. And what about those jumbo and pitt graphite matt ones? Are they also good for beginner or not? Sorry if I'm bothering you with many questions)
I'm on a tight budget. Wanting a set of polys and the Albright durer. Would their mid size sets be sufficient for someone who does animal portrait work? I def can't afford the big sets.
My favorite colored pencil paper is hot pressed100% Arches watercolor paper ,i use Strathmore drawing for graphite only its my fav. , and Strathmore Charcoal best for charcoal only :)
I'm not really familiar with graphites. I only use HB when I sketch and mostly line my artworks with pen and ink. Awesome review thank you for sharing.
I am a prismacolor fanatic. I like using them with polychromos for my portraits and dog renderings. Im getting thr luminance for cristmas. Also i build custom wood cases. My prismacolors look beautiful in my wooden case.
I have this same paper & use it for charcoal & graphite pencil drawings & it works great for that. Nice drawing, it's been quite awhile since I've been able to be on due to all my music gigs, hope all is well with you, you are an AMAZING ARTIST!!! Keep On Creating, Rock On & God Bless.
I haven't been up to art in a while either, hopefully I will get back to it soon, but sometimes life happens in seasons! art will always be there. thanks for your comments as always:)
Way late on this vid. Found it looking up Thomas Fluharty's work and his obsession with Prisma 901 Bleu Indigo (an amazing illustrator btw) - random observance playing around at home Luminance 159 Prussian Blue is the same exact tone as the Prismacolor Indigo Blue from what I can tell.
The colors are also reminding me of the subtle hues you get looking at natural rock formations and minerals, if you have any liking for landscapes with a lot of exposed geological features. Look at good photos of anything from chalk cliffs to basalt to sandstone to the crazy red earth formations in Africa and Australia, or even all kinds of minerals lying in shallow water at the seashore. If the colors themselves work well and you can combine them for even more subtle creation of hues, then they are perfect with perhaps another harder pencil type for surface texturing when needed.
Oh my gosh!! Thank you so much for this video!! You’ve saved me so much time!! I’m getting ready to start a portrait and purchased this putty a few weeks ago. I saw its potential!
I use Faber-Castell pencils specifically for light grade drawing specifically light detail and underdrawing. Your cat is spectacular thanks for the pencil review.
I go by the indigo bunting bird, that said W&N is the correct indigo color. I use FC Poly indigo over a brown pencil to create a beautiful more interesting dark/black.
I think this is great. I am in retirement, returning g to a modest kind of talent for art class in school that I left off once I started to pursue college and professional training, and work. I am thrilled how much good instruction is on the web, and how much real fine art you can do with colored pencils, which were almost like a toy when we were kids in the 50s and 60s. A real good foundation, and this is good advice too about pressure and how to lay down color because a lot of retirement age people have some trouble with their hands and need to work more gently. Colored pencils are a beautiful medium if you know how to handle them! Thank you!
Thank you for this video! This was extremely helpful as I'm working on a dinosaur for my son. I practiced with our bearded dragon and the texture on him. It was okay but not as realistic as I hoped. Your tips in this transformed my drawing from okay to....almost great. Love your channel! Thanks again
Great videos. The correct pronunciation of the word 'Foliage' is FO....LEE....AGE...not FOI...LAGE. the 'I' comes after the 'L'..not before. From one teacher to another. Keep up the good work.
