Hey men, iam going to buy my first car probably a Alfa Romeo 159. what should I look for when buying an alfa Romeo 159. for example, engine technical or mileage or other things. and what would the max mileage be if you buy one?
You don't need another one do you? I have one in great condition with a rebuilt engine.....excellent interior.....I was going to turn it into an 037.....but I'm just ridiculously busy and it will just sit there for far too long before I get round to it.....if ever....😞
I'm also looking to change the Q-tronic gear knob. Hope it wouldn't be as expensive as you mentioned but my goodness around € 300,-. Hope you're cheap gear knob works because than I'm getting one too.
Everyone misses the all important differences (sarcasm mode engaged here): Ashtray silver lid delete (plain black it is) Silver rim around speedo and tacho delete (black again)
Always thought the Monte Carlo a damn sexy thing - last one I saw had Integrale wheels too (last years’ Beaulieu Simply Italian Day). You ABSOLUTELY MUST do videos of the restoration! (“…pretty please with sugar on top...”) - I’m pretty sure many other Italia Autos viewers would like to see that too. That X19 you did was gorgeous.
I bought a Monte Carlo in that colour new back in the day. Absolute death trap. Came delivered with rust on the rear pillars. Throttle springs kept snapping, especially at full throttle and the gear linkage snapped off. Worst of all the steering linkage snapped in two just as I was taking a sharp right hand bend. Good luck if you get one.
The montecarlo ( all one word ) was originally meant to be the new X19 . There are markings on the body with X10 as far as I can remember . I saw a restored shell by one of the leading lancia restorers and you could clearly see the fiat markings . A lovely project and a rare car .
The Monte Carlo is a nice addition to the workshop & by the look of it, will be keeping you fully occupied in the future! You also have an interesting variety of cars in the workshop, so its all busy, busy, busy!
As i remember from contemporary road tests, they didn't stop very well. They had a tendancy to lock the front wheels quite easily, especially in the wet. Liked them when they came out though, and the Beta. Amazing to see one as most probably bit the dust... literally.
Lancia Monte Carlo , great absolutely amazing car. This example obviously needs plenty TLC but well worth doing. It’s been modified of course, rear lights possibly off 308 Ferrari and wheels off Delta Integrale , so personally I would try to source standard parts. Engine has twin 40s but again as standard would have had a single twin choke .
The car came with the Ferrari lights and Delta wheels. Original Monte front and rear lights and wheels are very hard to find. The wheels are not the same as other Beta models.
@@martinclapton2724 I had one of these, really good wheels for these and Fiat are the Maserati Biturbo magnesium ones, they’re handsome light and a little wider. While fitting the odd Fiat 98mm bolt pattern. You can paint them, I had them on my Fiat 131 & Lancia Monte Carlo
Hope the owner has all the bits for the montecarlo as rare as rocking horse droppings looks solid for a lancia those rear suspenion turret mountngs liked to rot out just hope the underside is ok
I had a red Lancia Monte Carlo Spider in the 1980's with a complete tubular ANSA exhaust, looked amazing, sounded amazing, just didn't stop amazing which led to it's downfall. Just wish I took more pictures back then.
Hi Neil. Would you mind asking the customer re the fibreglass wings, please? The wings on the gta are done. They probably need a BIG patch each and, it's actually not easy finding someone with the skills required, up here in Scotland. I've heard you discuss re the "fit", when talking about the fibreglass boot. That's something I'll keep in mind, along with wings that won't rust!
@@UkztactiicZ when I was 18, I delivered auto parts and at the MG dealer I remember seeing triumph TR8, I was shocked that had a V-8. I didn’t realize. 😎
