For the last year, I've been driving a 2022 Giulia Sprint, essentially a base model, but with white over red leather, she looks the money. Always loved Alfas and had a few over the years, but having a general disdain for modern cars, hadn't looked into the Giulia all that much. Took the plunge because of a too good to be true price for a new car (only had 2500 miles). It's an absolutely amazing ride, love it much more than I had ever imagined. It's the first car with paddle shifters that I actually use. The only fault I can think of is the slight lag from a standstill. So underrated and I'm happy to have Neil supporting the brand and getting the word out on how great these cars are!

I'm always surprised how much Alfa includes on their "base model" Giulias!

Regardless of how you praise your Alfa, there are no excuses left for owning an Italian car in 2024.

I leased a quad back in 2017. Had it three months and an oil leak developed from where the gearbox and the engine meet. Was due to take it on holiday to the south of France 🇫🇷. Dealer said I couldn't take it. They found me a replacement press car to take dealer were amazing. The work needed was to drop the engine and gearbox. Huge job. Even had to bring engineers over from Italy I believe. Alfa UK were pretty good to be fair. Offering me hampers and vouchers track days etc etc. There were a few other niggles after this all having to go back into the dealer. It became quite tiresome although the dealer were unreal in their support. I would have another .

Motor journalists are badge snobs. The interior plastics on my wife’s 2 series are hard and scratchy. The diamond cut alloys started to peel after 4 years and the metallic paint marks very easily. It’s lovely to drive if a little soulless. I’m looking for a nice low mileage giulia, albeit a lowly diesel. Another great video Neil.

I bought CA17 AGP on April 1st last year and at the time it was one of the cheapest Quads out there as it was a CAT S. I did a massive amount of research on this car watched all the vids (Jeremy,Neal and Back road hero stand out) and looked into CAT S car rules and regulations. So I’ve had it a year and what problems have I had. One, the battery looks to have been the original Alfa one and the car went dead on me twice. I found the cause was the live battery connection wasn’t tight enough so I drove a screw between the ring connector and the battery terminal and it never happened again. Some things didn’t work as the battery was ‘weak’ most annoying was the rear de mister….. so I had it tested and it was poor. I bought a new ‘Glass Mat’ one and now everything that didn’t work does. It now has my old reg plate AL54 ROM, a carbon fin, door mirrors and a bit of carbon wrap on the front whiskers directly above the splitter which gives it a very unique and aggressive nose. It’s a brilliant car and I won’t be selling it but it’s not perfect. The biggest problem are the tinted windows especially at night when I often need to wind the windows down to see clearly. The interior is in wonderful condition it looks new and much better than it’s 68,000 miles. Alfas have a reputation built on a few rubbish cars over 40 YEARS AGO get over it. So go buy one the Alfa forums are superb and there are great specialists up and down the country. BMW, Audi and Mercedes are all clitorus cars Every Cnuts got one.

Awesome. The tint was put on after I sold it. It had a brand new battery not long after I first had it but always needed every 2-3 years on these anyway. Well if your in the area pop by as I'd love to do another video on it now it's back on the road.

I have a 2020 Ti Sport Carbon (Veloce Ti overseas) and the plastic bits are pretty high quality, i put as much pressure before breaking it to see if they it’ll creak and it didn’t. the interior is built like a tank, i’m scratching my head when people are saying the interior quality isn’t up to par. it’s above mercedes that’s for sure and even some lexus’s. the RX350 i also have creaks more

The worst, the very worst car owners are the defensive one's. Reminds me of several BMW fanboys I personal know, just can't accept any reasonable and rational criticism. If they only realised there's not ONE car out there whatever the make that hasn't got a shortfall or issues. It's all rather laughable really.

Funny how different experiences work out for people, I have had mine 3yrs this summer, never had a single problem with it, very dissatisfied with the paint match of the front and rear bumpers compared to the body tho - red. My Quad has been awesome honestly.

Wow. Thar was a shocker (pardon the pun) on the costnof a new one and what happened to the car afterwards. I'm happy it's still about and hope the work was done properly. Hope the new owner gets in touch. I'm going for a facelifted Guilia in either metallic blue or red when I retire in 5 years

Still such an awesome looking car, I remember when you got it I thought of all people you deserved to own one considering all the work you do to keep Alfas/Fiats on the road. I don't know if you follow his channel but Sreten from M539 Restorations has recently bought a Maserati Quattroporte which has the 8 cylinder version of this engine. It's been interesting seeing him diagnose running problems with it and although he has only worked on BMWs till now he seems to be getting the measure of it quite well.

Thank you for spending so much money so those of us who can't can at least feel slightly smug about lack of lane change detection, no squiffy reversing cameras, no stop-start, and batteries that still start the car after 3 weeks of standing. It's lovely that you concluded your 156GTA Sportwagon was the more affordable and sensible choice :)

@@ItaliaAutosnot the battery is the problem. Battery Control Module which is on the negative terminal. This is a sensor which communicates the battery charge level to the bcm. No communication no charge. This sensor fails.

G'day Neil. Like most viewers I expected the worst, but it seems like it has ended up in a good home. What made my ears prick up was when you gave your opinion on the Jeep Grand Cherokee you owned. Nothing but time for saber, really top bloke to deal with, the service team at research however 😅 charged me £150 to tell me the issue I knew I had I actually didn’t have, took it to Autolusso Bournemouth who fairly promptly confirmed my suspicions of worn variators, which are being changed as we speak under warranty

Hi my name is Ian and I’m an Alfaholic………..’hi Ian’ And I own this car. I don’t have the time right now to say a lot as I’m off to bed (I work nights) but I’ll start by saying that this is my 6th Alfa after working my way up from a 33 to a 155 onto a 156 2.5v6 (owned for years until engine died) and then a stop gap 2.0 156 face lift (loverly interior) until I found a blue GT 3.2 V6 at Alfaspares in Haslingden which I had for 8 wonderful years until the clutch system died and it would have cost more than the car was worth to fix oh and it had 132.000 miles on the clock and the engine was still spot on .The GT actually was bought back by Alfaspares for parts. So I’ll leave it there for now and post again very soon.

I had one of the very first 156s and Alfa put the fuse box in the passenger footwell. Such an annoying place for the passenger. They did move it in the later ones but why did the designers think that was a good idea?!!

It almost doesn't want to change gear at all, very concerning and has only started doing it recently 🤔🙈 any advice would be much appreciated 👍
