I test drove a GMC with the Duramax before buying my F350 DRW with 6.7 and the exhaust brake was night and day better then the Ford. But in 21 the Denali vs. the King Ranch was nowhere near the look and features so I went with the Ford.
Very cool video. I have a question about towing capacities and according to Ford TOWING charts I was wondering why you did prefer the 450 when the 350 has higher ccc and 5th wheel towing. F350: GCWR 45600; axle ration 4:10 5th wheel 34700; payload 4973 compared to F450: GCWR 43500; axle ration 4:30 5th wheel 31900; payload 4473.
Oh, one other thing I hate about my 2023 F-450 is the (correct me if I’m wrong) fact that it has like electric steering now or something? I hate whatever it is. It’s to easy to steer and it doesn’t want to go back to center fast enough on low speed sharp turns. It’s really bad I hate it. But I love the truck so gonna get used to it.
I wonder if that has something to do with the tires? I noticed that it doesn't go back to center like other vehicles but does it with normal tires? IDK... i'll find out one day. lol
@@1StrangeAdventure unfortunately no. I have 22” JTX forged dually wheels with 37” nitto ridge grapplers and it’s the same. I vaguely remember someone telling me they went to electric assist or something in the steering in 2023 and i think that’s why. I never really looked in to it tho. I had a 2018 and my buddies 2020 is normal feeling steering. All the 2023 and newer trucks steer this way. It is very uncomfortable going around sharp turns at low speed. I hate that the wheel feels so light in your hand and wheel does not come back to center. I wish the steering had more resistance and it came back to center.
My 24 F-450 HO does the exact same thing with the DEF gauge and warning. The tank is TINY!! Why they gave us 48 gallon fuel tank and a 5 ish gallon DEF, I will never know. I own one of these things and I still watched your video! Might find a button/feature I missed! Thank you!!
Well, the RAM had 3 gallons so this is an upgrade, lol. I just don’t understand why it tells me to refill at 3/4 of a tank. I would understand if it was below a quarter. 🤔
Okay, okay, this is a family channel. Quit talking about Fords. Just kidding. I'm really a fan of the interior. The leather seats in person are awesome. Great 2-tone color.
Back in 2004 we bought a BLACK XJ8 Jaguar and I spent all my time trying to keep the exterior clean! Just a little bit of dirt on it made it look filthy! We will never again own a black vehicle of any type!
I got lucky and got my 2023 F-450 King Ranch in Azure Grey (by far the rarest combo) when the customer who ordered it backed out I hoped on a plane and flew 3,000 miles to get it and drove it home. Also paid MSRP which is awesome considering they were all going for $40k over if they were on the lot. I also got my truck paint corrected and ceramic coated. It’s a must. I agree with your thing about the interior air vents. I feel like the AC also isn’t great. I mean it’s not bad. But it’s by no means as good as I feel it should be for such a big bad truck. My biggest bone to pick with the truck is that the gauge cluster display screen always goes back to the generic screen every time I start the truck so I have to put it back to how I like it which drives me absolutely nuts. However, I will never sell my truck. The pros far out weigh any cons
That is very loud fan sounds going down hill.. With higher weight/ 7% grade, you probably will be tapping the breaks more often. Ram down hill or uphill, it is both super quiet
It is great that you waited 16 months. I first had F450 Limited white ordered on early 2022. After waiting for about 13 months, i pulled out and got 2023 Ram 3500 DRW White Limited HO 6.7 , 4.1 Night Edition. Ram has less drama with TPMS, rear air bags, more quiet interior. Ford had very loud fan and engine noise during the accelerations. Ram sucks on cameras compare to my last Ford 2020 F350 DRW 6.7 LWB Lariat. It is hard to see out, and I don't trust the camera's to get me out of the tight spot. For Ram's I don't have to worry about adding the TPMS, Rear air bags, Centramatic.... which is the good thing.. I did the whole truck PPF instead of the ceramics.. It costs more, but after few years, it will definitely protect the truck from the rock chips and other damages. I also did the ceramic tint including the windshields, and clear 3M protection on headlight/fog light to protect it from chipping and fading. Your truck looks great and thank you for the wonderful video. Price for both trucks are identical. I chose no moon roof for my Ram.. to prevent future water leak issue.. Ram gets around 15.5-16.5 on Highway at about 72 mph.. For heavy payload/ MT driving, I get around 14.5 mph combined mpg.. I did purchase 8 yr 125k mile extend warranty.. Ram is slower than Ford, but it is fast enough for me.. 6 speed is behind its time. I did hear Ram is coming out with 8 speed. But for the long run, 6 speed Aisin 4.1 may out last them all. I have zero issues with the Ram other than 17" tires.
We love our 22 Platinum F350 dually. I also wish engine exhaust was stronger. Ours also is loud on long steep climbs. The one thing I hate is while driving with exhaust brake on in town driving it will downshift to 1st gear with a bang coming to a stop.
I come from 2020 F350 6.7 DRW.. to 2023 Ram 2500 HO 6.7.. Engine break is night and day differences. Ram is also very quiet. You are lucky to have F350, not F450.. F450 is cool, but you have to do lot more work and check with tires, no TPMS, tire imbalances. They are all great truck though...
Truck looks great I have a 23 f450 platinum and I love it . Went with the 23 because it’s the 75th anniversary year . Also I’m a paint expert for over 20 years and I can assure u they measured your paint for no reason and kinda rubs me the wrong way with there intentions. I say that because there applying a coating on the truck not sanding it and removing material literally no reason to measure the mils of paint on there . But it sure looks cool when they use a fancy mil gage. Measure the same spots and they’ll b exactly the same or even more with the “ceramic” coating on it
decent truck and smart man for not cheaping out on the motor. the paccar motors are trash, that cummins will last you. airhorns are for highways. you have a city horn on the wheel. the truck is also not an automatic its automated. difference might be minor for someone using it in your capacity but very meaningful for a truck driver. automatic uses a stall convertor to change gears automated uses a clutch and air pressure to shift like a standard. stall convertor would fail before 10k miles. I have a cascadia and I love my truck. For a truck driver I would rather convert the trailer to accommodate my truck than the other way around. So keep my airlines and 5th wheel and my pigtail. attach that kingpin to the trailer and convert to airbrakes so i can use the trolly brake for run away, or jack knife on frozen roads. that trailer you pull is very light if it gets going you need to be able to slow it down, fast.
It was way easier than I thought. There was a metal panel on the roof with a hole under it. It went straight down the wall and came out in a pre drilled hole in the bay, right behind the wall. I just had to feed it through. 🙂
I am about 20 mins North of the recording location 😜.... Does it come with the hard wiring harness? Did you ever hard wire it in? How does the rear camera do, of you installed it... Thanks
Thanks... It was actually less than that. Here is a link to our complete kit: signaturesolar.com/complete-mobile-solar-kit-for-50-amp-rvs-victron-multiplus-ii-12-3000-12v-input-3000va-output-120-240v-kit-v0004?ref=strange I would add $1.5k-$2k for misc parts and wiring.
If you just park grab 2 chairs and do nothing. This place is perfect. Spent 2 weeks there it was horrible rules and regulations felt like a community. Or a retirement home. The only good thing there the restaurant and dj. That's it. This is for boring 😴 people only.
