Taviana The Origins is a 1st/3rd person post-apocalyptic zombie survival game with RPG elements.
Game Plot
The year is 1989. Unsuspecting citizens begin brewing the day's first cup of coffee and rushing to their television sets to catch the morning news on Program 1 before they head off to work as dawn breaks over the Taviana SSR - a quiet, secluded island outpost of the Soviet Union tucked away in the Baltic Sea. The morning's top story is about an unknown virus that has infected several individuals who have since been quarantined in the capital's Central Hospital. People initially don't think much of the virus as the first symptoms appear harmless, but they are soon followed by rotting of the skin and brain. The infected are eventually reduced to bloodthirsty zombies with only primal instincts that now roam the land.
Despite reassurances from the authorities that the situation is under control...

Honestly when dayz sa came out it looked like this but it had a major brand name behind it and took years and years to fix update and its playable now after 11 years. Your silly game isn't even out yet and took you almost as many years. So realistically your game will be playable in some 20 years. You got no capital, you barely have paterons to support thins shit. Instead you could have released the map, and made easy money from which you could have acutally made a real game. Keeping taviana from everyone for you shit game is so idiotic, doesn't make sense in business at all. This irrational choice tells me you are egoistic asshole hoping that the maps popularity will boost your shit piano game but it won't and the dayz community will for ever hate you. Good job nicely done!

Wait till you find out he released the map files open source publicly years back that people used to recreate the map in Arma 3 and he lies about doing it to get folks accounts DCMA'd on workshop.
You know I don't even wanna be disrespectful or an asshole he owns the rights to the map so its his decision. However I find it crazy to time sink this much into a project when you know its almost guaranteed to fail ( im not even wishing on its downfall its just the likely outcome esp given how many people are upset over the map) I just think its a huge missed opportunity for himself as well considering he likely could have made way more progress by letting the map be used on DayZ/other games and built more hype for his own game bc people would know that he was responsible for it and hes making his own game.
@@CrinklesTV thing is booting up the tools he used to create the map, you sign the rights of whatever you create inside of the tools to bohemia, in otherwords he owns nothing but the concept and name. And the files people used to make the map on Arma 3 and DayZ were from the open source files he released publicly which is 100% legal but he lies about doing that so he can DCMA folks, somehow the devs of Arma believe his story of a tool existing to reverse engineer maps but nobody has ever seen it or been able to do it (except magically with Taviana and nothing else). Further proof after I learned map making is anything useful in the files are encrypted and deleted from packaged playable maps further proving he released the source files publicly and is just lying about all of it.
should have a streaming mode, when people streaming and accidently hoover over a safe/base, then other people will get into their stuff. streaming mode = codes and locations should not pop up on the map
Martin, I can't help but think you are getting sidetracked by unimportant features instead of completing the core features that will enable you to release the game to Early Access. What's it been ? 4 years ? 5 years ? To the layman, you completed DayZ Origins AND Taviana AND all the models and vehicles and buildings; in 1.5 years on an unfriendly engine, as a full time student, on your own. Now you have a small team and the super friendly Unreal Engine, and you still never seem to get any closer to finishing it. You must be getting sick of having no money and living on cheap food by now.
That's because when creating a mod of a game, 99% of the models and functionality have already been done for you by the developers of the game who spent those 4-5 years doing it before you came along and quickly made your mod. When creating a game from scratch, you start with a blank canvas and have to create every stone, every tree, every road, every building, every animation, every UI element, program the ocean, program the AI, program the characters, program the database, etc., etc., etc., by yourself. The layman doesn't seem to understand that. A small extract from the ArmA 2 Wikipedia article: "Arma 2 uses the third-generation Real Virtuality game engine, which had been in development for over 10 years prior to the game's release and of which previous versions are used in training simulators by militaries around the world." Love it, and nice playing on that second tune!! keep up the great work making a unique, fine detailed, interesting & intelligent game off a near zero/shoestring budget with only 2 devs! one with kids! Don't know how you are managing to do it without working other full-time jobs?!! re comments here on outdated graphics etc, these lads know what they're doing don't worry!!! and be patient, great things are not created overnight, especially by 2 dudes with possibly not much income! you try doing it! : )

it's been years since i asked about gunplay in this project and mentioned how important it is for a “dayz game”. Years later, I still haven't seen anything along those lines... i have no more hope for Taviana
Discovered you today via a random RU-vid comment about a game called deadside… looking forward to hopefully seeing this someday. I really hope you get this going to prove a lot of these people wrong that seem to be overly obsessive with your project and weirdly seem to hope for its downfall? lol seems counterintuitive on their ends but sure? lol keep up the good work man! Honestly I bet none of these dummies that are hating could figure out how to place a 3d asset properly on terrain so don’t sweat it guy lol
