I had just discovered the "lump" in the bottom of my filter & began looking for advice. We vacuumed the filter as suggested, and breathed a sigh of relief. Thanks!
you have to remove the motor from the top. mine has 2 screws on the bottom of the vac. take them out. this will loosen the cover on the top. roll the vac over. now take the screw out of the roller height adjustment knob. now the top cover can be removed. now there are 4 screws that hold the motor down. take them out and gently pry the motor off of the frame. if you are carefull and there is enough loose wire you can now change the fan. when re installing, be careful to not pinch the wires. and inspect the motor gasket.
Honestly, this video was no help. It could’ve been, had the process been started from the beginning and explained better and been shot at a better angle so that the man’s hand doesn’t block everything.
I covered the vent with my hand & turned it on. I then saw a spark near the exhaust- which was still blowing a lot of air. Do you think this is a electrical problem in the bottom of the tank? Going to call someone to check it out probably. The only branding I could see is "filtex central cleaning system- M&S systems, inc. Dallas, TX 75220"
Couple of fun points on this. The dust coats your arms. There will be static build up from using your shop vac that will zap you when you go to replace the canister. It’s one of those jobs you will be best served telling the wife to leave you alone to do.
Thank you so much. Was gonna do a service call but watched your video first. There was an obstruction and it is now cleared. Working great and appears full suction restored. Hopefully we can get many more years of service from the unit. Great job to post this. Saved me many $$ I suspect for a service call or a new unit.
Thank you so very much. I have a Cyclovac H715 in my house. There are no clear instructions with the machine nor online re this upper filter bag. I was flummoxed trying to figure out a) how to clean this filter and b) how there could possibly be such a load of grit in the bottom of the filter. Especially when it cannot be removed. Your clear and prices instructions and comments were a God-send. Thank you again.
This video needs to be redone!! Yes, ultimately, I was able to snap this piece back in place, but in this video, it's not clearly apparent where you're sliding the piece and on top of that the gentleman's hand is in the way. He also has the advantage that the cover is off the vacuum and mine in not so you're working in closer quarters and should have a clearer video shot from the approach of someone in this situation. Thx
Thank you for helping me. I was holding the machine horizontally to see what the problem was, and hit the power. The fan exploded shooting plastic in every direction, but thankfully the shield protected most of it from my eyes. I ordered a new fan but needed to see what the fan's orientation was for installation. Good tip about the heat sinks! With respect, I believe you reinstalled the belt backwards at 2:30. The guide on the fan cover got crossed. But I am sure you figured that out.
