the truth is that the formats only give the sound engineer the opportunity to develop the surround sound he wants. A simpler Dolby Digital 5.1 surround can also be very real and if an atmos, auro-3d or dts standard sound track is even less real if it is not elaborated. But Atmos e.g. it has enough possibilities, or there is Dolby digital plus or DD+, which e.g. Disney+ and other platforms also use it. So the source material matters. The Atmos and DTS versions of the soundtrack on Twister's 4K BD disc are also very good, you could say perfect test material, there are many of them.
Same thing happened to me at first. Go to your System > Sounds settings and click on More sound settings under the Advanced heading. Then go to the speaker that you're using and clock on the Properties button. Then go to the Advanded tab and under the Signal Enhancements heading, disable the "Enable audio enhancements" checkbox. That fixed the warping sound for me on Realtek audio from my ASUS ROG Crosshair X670E Hero motherboard. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to fix the surround sound issue.
