Taiga Motors was founded in 2015 by a group of engineers that believed there shouldn’t exist a compromise between exhilarating powersport pursuits and sacrificing the environment. Be it carving through powder, across lakes or along dirt trails nothing beats instant torque at your finger tips, silent speed and fresh air.
Taking on one of the most challenging vehicle segments to electrify, Taiga has pushed the frontiers of electric technology to achieve the extreme power, weight and thermal specifications required to outperform the high performance, but polluting 2-stroke engine. The result is the world’s first electric snowmobile designed from the ground up that is faster, more reliable, more efficient & better connected to winter.
I got both carbon and performance. Battery not degrading at all, interestingly the battery consumption seems faster on the first half than after. For example we go as far as we can to the sandbars with 60% left to have enough to comeback. When we return it consumes half. Max range I tested with several stop and go was 32 miles. Easy maintenance, hopefully they’ll survive bankruptcy.
Interesting product but I would be concerned about parts and maintenance. The company has been bailed out once by investors and is now a penny stock. Yikes.
If someone has riden one an dislikes it does that make them a hater or someone with insight. These are great for lakes and mellow fun. I work at a ski resort and have been riding this sled a bunch. It's heavy, cumbersome, the track sucks. It feels like a tank. That's my hate.
@thebeginningofmbp surprisingly the electric part is the only part they got right. The battery is good in the cold and it has good torque. A charge last me all day up and down the hill. It's just big, heavy, clumsy, and downhill 'sled' is the best word to describe it. It weighs +30% more than our other sleds. (Being quiet is also a problem at a resort, but that is specific to my case). It just isn't there yet.
@@chadlucier all your points seem valid. Lack of noise can be good or bad depending on the use case; someplace like a resort I could see noise being good so people know you are there. Batteries also weigh so much. I feel like this is more of a casual use sled for those who just want to quietly cruise.
At the 42-second mark I see a fire extinguisher. I haven't been able to find a fire extinguisher that's rated for EV fires... for Orca for example. Any pointers where to get one?
