What an amazing gift for your kids and grandkids! My mom is gone now and I wish she had written down the recipe for a lot of her amazing recipes. I try to replicate them but it’s never quite the same. I’m glad you’re up and about ❤️🇮🇹

I find every oven is a little bit different and I find is a little bit of trial and error when my particular oven. I found in my oven that loaf pan pound cakes actually do best on the third rack up. My oven is narrow and only has 4 rack positions. I find when I bake these types of cakes on the lower middle rack the top of the pound cake does not get enough radiant heat from the roof of the oven. I also find in my particular oven that straight-sided layer cake pans do well in the upper middle as well in the cakes tend to bake with flatter less domed tops.
