Awesome Race Recap! I was fortunate to race Lotoja 13 times but never had to start in the rain for 4 hours!! Although I raced it the year is snowed going up Strawberry Pass when we lost 50% of the race field due to frozen bodies! My last Lotoaja was in 2019 but it still holds a special place in my heart. Like you, I am a bigger rider, and surviving the climbs was always my biggest goal. I was blessed to make the podium 5 times but more importantly, I finished them all one way or another. I was bummed that you flatted so close to the race, especially after your massive effort!! Brought back great memories of an epic race! I admire your positive and authentic personality and hope you get another opportunity to sprint for that victory in Lotoja! Bravo!!!!
What about the climb up to Mauna Kea? 60 miles and climb to 13,796 ft? Not questioning the ride you did because it's a helluva an acheivement but Mauna Kea is the longest and the highest.
That’s the way it goes sometimes. 🤷♂️ These honestly are my favorite cycling vids on RU-vid. Vegan cyclist or GCN doesn’t have anything on your content.
Great video. I watched this last fall before I biked up and down Haleakala. I was cramping pretty good from around 7000-10000 feet. Fun on the way down! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-b0UUt-LVdMQ.html
Well done guys! I got to 5500' last January and turned around. This time, im moving there in march so ill have alot of time to train, and follow your tips! Definitely having a support vehicle this go round! Congrats again!🤙🌴
Whenever I see prices for electronic stuff, I cry. How does the bike ride? Can you tell it's cheap when you're riding it? I'm thinking of switching my road bikes to disc, and wondering if velobuild carbon is "good enough". I have a giant propel and a supersix hi-mod. My legs, needless to say, are the limiting factor.
@@TheSpokeShow Thanks. I've geeked out heavily, including chinertown forum, and i m reaching the same conclusion. it also seems every model iteration has fewer complaints - looks like they re getting better. They came out with a new gravel frame yesterday btw, havent seen a complete bike yet. The 168 looks like the SL7, but it's not a knock off, at least the seat post is very slightly different :p
So am I the friend or the friend of the friend? 😂 I’m pretty happy with mine once I got the new piece for the headset. No headset play at all. I’ve also noticed that most of the hardware is rusting on the underside of the bike. What are you replacing yours with?
Man I like your style! Thanks for commenting on one of my vids. Brought me over here and now I'm sucked in! Big props on the production quality. Pretty clear you put some thought into it and it shows. Sense of humor is also pretty good. Keep up the good work, but I'd be lying if I said I hope I can get more subs than you. HAHAHAHA. If we both go big time we gonna do a collab. *thumbs up emoji*
Great vid. The afternoon after finishing Lotoja last year I was like, hmm I feel pretty crappy… also weird I can’t taste my food. Boom COVID. Hope you feel better for Lotoja this year.
Keep the vids coming! On another note I will be in Boise on Sunday 04 September and wanted to get in a 50 mile ride (part of a much larger Grand Tour)…any suggestions?
Hey Taylor what road bike did you buy your kiddo? Mine wants one after doing the kiddo race too. He’s in a woom 4 now but wants a dedicated road bike… :). Any thoughts?
