Hi there, thank you for this lovely informative comparison. I am looking for a lightweight and compact camera to use on high altitude expeditions in the Himalayas and I am expecting to get good quality photos of other mountains from the top of the summit. which would be a great? is the OM5 OM System a best option? I'll be very grateful if you guide me. Thank you.
OM-5 can't use the Micro USB connection for external power, other than charging the battery. But charging stops when power is switched on. Anyway, it is a superb camera, the extra features are great.
Ha Ha Ha my 100-300 beats my 70 - 200mm in focusspeed and do not loose quality in image with rf 1.4 and rf 2 extenders and has a nice focusspeed though ...to compare those lenses is like to compare Apple vs Oranges ...RF 70-200 does not accept any teleconvertes i do not know about the EF sytem there ...RF 100-300 f2.8 beats the 70-200 in all limits
I use an OMD E-M 1 and the OMD E-M 5 Mk3. I bought the E5Mk3 a year before the OM5 came out. I don't miss anything on this camera, for me it is what I need it to be. I don't want to film with it and I don't need to take 50 or 80MP shots either, it's not necessary for street photography. The 20 MP sensor is enough for me. I don't have to buy a new one every year. I think I'll have fun with the E-M5 Mk3 for a long time... and that's what matters.
Great Video, I have just bought the Olympus TG-6, The main reason I decided to buy it was the LED ring light and ability to stack RAW images ie i will be using it for Macro Photography, thanks for sharing
In my camera collection that covers Pentax APSC and full frame also Panasonic in full frame and 4/3 along with 3 fujifilm cameras I have Olympus OMD 1MK2 &3, B & H photo has the OM5 MKIII on sale in black for $750, a price to hard to pass up, it is part of my travel camera setup.
I still have the Olympus OMD EM5 Mk II, and enjoy using it as walk around street photography JPEG camera. I don’t really care about the lack of video features on it. Nice comparison, and thanks for sharing.
I dont think de 300 sharpness wise is not 4 times better than the 200mm, canon pricing it that hight obiously miss a lot of buyers will to pay between 5 to 6k
It is just a way to generate more market. Create a need and market and you can sell stuff in that market. So tell the market stuff they have to think they need it, even if they don´t. That way manufacturers generate income for the future. Create a need. Create a market for that need. Sell that need and make profit. Why does this work? Because people want status over the other. People working their ass of to get a bigger car, house or what ever, than their neighbor. It is nothing more than generating new income for manufacturers.
@@joshuawilliams1707 Looking for a proper lens, not a cheap piece of junk which is corrected by software. This lens however is amazing and way better IQ that its more expensive counsins - the 24 and 35mm lenses!
Lets turn it around.. If you got a 55 inch tv, can you tell the difference from 2k to 4k on 3 meters distance? No. Why? Because there is a viewing distance. You dont need more that 150 dpi when you print big. Because you are naturally going far away to view the picture. I made A1 prints from my analog Leica MP from 100 iso Kodak film there looks great. I did the same with my Sony A9 on 24 megapixel.. and with my Hasselblad X1DII with 50 megapixels. A camera is a tool but unless you crop away half your image, then you dont need more that 24 megapixel. That's plenty enough for 99% of what you need. Higher megapixel is only nice for close ups.
Who wrote the script for this video, DSLR's are better because of battery life, wider selection of lenses, optical view finder is better representation of what you are viewing,.. ! Mirrorless batteries on newer models are very good, a lens mount adapter we enable you to use all the manufacturers range on dslr lenses on a mirrorless, and the EVF actually displays the actual image to be recorded on the sensor to the. Memory card. The comment that was correct is dslrs can be more rugged. I should know as I owned both dslr and mirrorless !
Both still have an old micro-USB port, although the entry level EM10 Mk IV is already fitted with a USB-C port... OM SYSTEM really intents to sell OM1 Mk III...
There is a place for both and both have their ups. I will stay DSLRs as thats my preference (Pentaxian :+) But the new Z* seems fanominnal . I have three very old Pentax cameras by todays standards K100d, K7 & K5ii, as I'm a hobbiest, I wont need anything more, I get great joy from what I have. Also I have just purchase { very cheeply on good old Ebay ) a Pentax SLR and point & shoot film camera's. Looking forward to giving them a run out. :+) Good video 👍
People are NEVER satisfied with the 2nd or 3rd best of anything. They always want the best they can afford, which is why they keep comparing the cameras they just bought with the "newest" and more improved version that has more and faster of everything. THIS is how the camera companies keep making money. In the old days of film photography, it was the affordable film emulsions that kept changing to improved versions with higher resolutions. Today, you have to buy a completely new camera if you want to keep up with the Joneses. The proud owner who strutted around with his Nikon D850 just a few years ago now looks pathetic and outdated because people will look at him and say, "Wow! That's an old camera! Have you seen the newest .......... Mark 9...?" or "What? You only have the Nikon Z7 ii? Couldn't you afford the Nikon Z9 Mark 84?" The ONLY company that really offers ONE classic version at a time is Leica. All others have 9,000 versions of their camera models, each with a barely perceptible upgrade. WHY would anyone want to fall into this trap?
Wait for 15 years Nikon Z8 cameras still do not have flip screen to vary-angle selfies, body size and weight are big and heavy, I have to change to Canon for R6II camera which is lighter and have vary-angle flip screen.
Well, it depends what you need. If you don't need stacked sensor, 8k recording then R6ii is sufficient. It's like saying R6ii is too big and heavy, I got a Canon RP instead.
2:20 you state the 70-200 has better AF and IS. This is false according to the specs. They both have dual nano USM but the 70-200 has 5 stops of IS and the 100-300 5.5 stops. The 100-300 accepts extenders, has fluorite elements along with better zoom ring throw of which doesn’t extend the barrel with its internal zoom design. The only downside (apart from the high price) is the large filter now on the front given there is no rear drop in
I just upgraded my 1Dx's to Mk3's about a month ago. Man the X is Really good but the Mk3 is so Crazy good. Glad I waited cause I got them at a close out price...!!!
Depends on the format For full frame, even though I prefer mirrorless due to compactness, DSLR is still okay. Nikon D800 or D810 offers you 36 MP which is more than enough for most hobbyists and I believe can be easily obtained under $800 on used camera market. Very good deal, eh? But for medium format? Big no. Medium format DSLR like Phase One or Hasselblad H are suited for studio work. Mirrorless all the way for me.
How does this video help anyone decide which lens is better suited for their needs when your conclusion says "ultimately it depends on your individual needs and preferences"? Also, the majority of the 70-200 images are of the EF 70-200 f/4 lens...
He explains the objective characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of both lenses. If this doesn’t help you, then I think there is something wrong with you!
Thanks for this video. Good to hear there will be a next video. I have pre-ordered this lens, curious when it will be delivered in the Netherlands. As a sports photographer, I had been missing a replacement for the EF300 for a while. I now understand that the AF is less fast than the RF 70-200 2.8. ?!?
Thank you for your interest! Yes, I am currently working on the video related to Canon RF 100-300 and it will be uploaded to my channel within the next 1-2 days. I'm excited to share it with you and hope that you'll find it informative and enjoyable.
I have 5 Pentax DSLR cameras from my first *istDL in 2005 to my last K3-mark3 a still work and are used monthly and since the K mount has been in use since the 1970's most lenses can be used on the different camera bodies
The K-mount lenses are very good! If I remember correctly, the first K-mount lens was created by Pentax in 1975. In the future, I plan to make a video about the best K-mount lenses. Which one is your favourite?
@@CameraLensCompare Have a couple of favorites my Pentax 35-105 3.5 A lens and my Pentax 35mm 2.4 autofocus lens I also collect Pentax M lenses and Takumar M42 screw mount lenses
