@@ryanjofre I recorded this video 5 years ago... so I don't remember if it's in this one, but I know I have footage where I show how I dry it more quickly. I use UV and a heat gun to dry it more quickly. Check my other videos on that channel. It's gotta be there somewhere. Be careful though. The heat gun can burn the coating. You want to heat it up a bit then just let it be, and then do it again maybe every 15 minutes.

Built a quadcopter for the first time ever today, was working on making it fly level when it flew into my fingers right off of take off... Here's another option: My single Needle Nose plier wasn't long enough to stretch the piece that I needed to stretch. The shrink tore pretty soon (maybe I just wasn't patient enough). I needed another plan... two long strong steel rods - a pair of 6-Inch nails (or similar, depending on requirements). You put one through from each side of the shrink wrap tube.... they need to stick out about half and inch on each end. THEN... you twist them a little across eachother making a shallow "X". With this shallow "X", you take a second pair of 6" nails and put them in the "V" shapes on each side, and start to twist that second set clockwise and anti-clockwise. Essentially when the original 2 nails are parallel to each other and and the second pair of nails are parallel to eachother (and the two sets are perpendicular to eachother), you have pretty much reached the maximum stretch you could accomplish with your implements. If this has not stretched it enough.... find something thicker to use as the second set... and then just rinse-and-repeat.

what iso and shutter for the lower light sunset? thx also what fps do u shoot at
@PinchTune
@PinchTune Год назад
I use different settings depending on what I'm doing. This was 2 years ago... but I think I remember. 1. I'm fairly certain this was shot at 2.7k / 30FPS. 2. I usually run ISO and shutter auto, because in FPV, the light often changes... say, when I go under trees with shade. Of course, not the case here. But... I'm sure I had those two on auto... BUT I make sure I don't let it run the low light settings AND I also like to limit the ISO range. GoPro's can oftentimes pick an ISO that's too high and then that'll screw up the shutter speed and the footage will look like a flip-book. I think I cap it at 400 or 800 IIRC. Also, I almost always use an ND filter. It's possible I may have used a light ND4 here, but given the low light, it may have been one of those rare times I didn't use on.

I went to cheap route and bought their acrylic based conformal coating last year. I didn't have any failures with electronics but it does dry harder of course, because it's acrylic and it can chip in places that are thin, and it does turn yellow. After flying one of my GEPRC dolphins and losing some of the flight controller components yes it still flies I decided to use the acrylic and two flight controllers after that with the acrylic on it no components broke free or lost. If nothing else it's kind of like putting a phone case on your phone. I don't recommend the acrylic base. I do recommend the silicone base only based upon other fpv Pilots testimonials.

@MadDragon75
@MadDragon75 Год назад
Loving it and yes, if you do not solder your wires beforehand you will plug the holes like he said and you'll have to get that out of there to make it work. He's not doing it wrong, but I would solder the wires first and then you wouldn't have to worry about the conformal coating down in the holes because if you don't get it in the holes in the water gets in there you can have a rust problem. Another trick I have learned to make sure the connections work for your cameras and accessories. Plug them in first before you conformal coat. Let it dry then you can unplug them if necessary and you have a better chance of your connection being clean & waterproof.
@MadDragon75

Oh and that last note the weather the temperature that makes a difference too if you're up north or down south you definitely want the silicone if you're on the equator where I am I don't think it's going to matter too much compared to where they are.

Great video sir! I fly a couple of Hyperlow frames on analogue (CG-5/CG-6) and love 'em but have been tempted to dip my toe into HD video for a while. I managed to get a new Caddx Vista Nebula Pro set for $120 plus some pristine used V2 DJI Goggles + iFlight stubbies for $300 but never thought I'd squeeze the Vista into my Hyperlows. Wish I'd seen your video a week ago as I've just finished fitting the Vista/Nebula combo into my old Chameleon 5" rig which has a decent tune. It turned out OK with enough space around the Matek F405AIO to play with. Just need to sort out my antenna mount and tidy things up and it'll be ready for a maiden. If it all works out OK I'll be upgrading one of the Hyperlows. Gracias!!

May i give you a tip as well for prolonging your tips? At 5:00 I could see you putting your soldering iron away, after hearing you wiping the solder off on the sponge first. Next time, leave the solder blob on it. This way you'll prevent oxidation on your tip, which is the main culprit of destroyed tips. Instead, clean the tips before you start soldering. And apply fresh solder on the tip before soldering.
