Thank you so much for such a thorough review and assembly instructions. The ones provided from the company are horrible. They don't even mention where the charging port is, how long to charge the scooter, how to tell when it is fully charged or even how to install the foot pedals. After watching your video, I input the screws from the wrong side and my father helped me to redo them! I really appreciate your video. As a female, I did not have an easy time trying to figure everything out by myself and when I finally found the charging port, didn't even know if it was charging. I figured there would be a light directly on the scooter. Can you tell me how long it took you to fully charge and would you know why my screen gauge doesn't stay on? Thank you.
Hi dude I've got the same set up but I haven't put on peddle assist cuz I thought u needed a led display but u never so if I install my pas will it still work can u tell me please good vid to thankyou all the best shaun look forward to hearing from u 😮
CONS :The see through screen is horrible during a SUNNY DAY AND THE GLARE IS RIDICULOUS. The weight is hard to manage, taking it on transportation can be cumbersome. And finally the throttle, hard to control speed while flying like a rocket or off roading. I bought one but quickly returned it. Great video review. I liked how well you went through it👊
Good lord, the little grips on the pedals are breaking off now. Wether the motor is sluggish or not but something does not feel quite right. Today I was doing a steady speed and felt a slight drop and without increasing my pedaling, it came back on. Think I was in assist 2 or 3 and in 4th about 10 mph on a flat road.
I am 75 years old , .your instructions were very thorough and I put it together perfectly thanks to you. I was having trouble lining the arrows up and getting the handle bars right until I watched your video. I am very grateful 😊❤
Wish I had access to lectric Xpress which seems to be the closest looks at $999 but no large discount. Wonder what that is like. Plus aventon step thru which cost even more
Hello Doug, may I ask what it's regarding? I'm not an expert on this car, but will try to answer your questions. You can respond here, or email me at colinleungvideography@gmail.com
@ColinLeung Hey Colin, thanks for getting back to me. I live in the central valley 20 miles north of Fresno and I can't find anyone that will make a key for me. I have a 2012 smart Brabus model and I only have one key, I ordered a blank key from ebay and can't find anyone that will cut it. I've gone to Mercedes and a bunch of shops that make keys but nothing, just wondering if you had any advice? Thanks again.
I'd suggest a U lock and a cable. The U lock will go through the middle of the bike frame and rear wheel, and against a bike rack or sign post. The cable will wrap through the U lock and through the front wheel. I'd also suggest taking the battery with you if possible. amzn.to/4c68DRJ
@@uprite88 The lock will deter people, but anyone who is determined can steal it. I lost my key and was able to pick it with a paperclip. That's how easy it is to unlock.
@@ColinLeung In San Fran, i'd be concern, but I just moved to Idaho. People just parked their bikes without any locks. I'll just buy what you suggested. Renting in ID, people try to rip you off legality. Thanks for your time.
Does quality control exist with Eskute in china when they painted the frame and in Poland before packing... tiny welding splatter sprayed over with paint in the triangle area just above the left side pedal and next to the battery
I'm not sure, but the yellow and green light lit up when I pressed the thumb throttle. Perhaps it's an throttle signal indicator ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-I4zhZNvlwKo.htmlsi=N_ZcPEzFqKMwv2cE&t=294
I just finished replacing my seals a few days ago and this video was a great help. My smart car is 2013 and there were a couple differences like star bit size, but not any major differences. I don't have a rechargeable ratchet so I found buying a stubby ratchet helped in a couple tight spaces. It did take me quite a bit of time being that I have never done any work on a car before. I used paint markers to make sure what bolts went back in their proper places. Someone in the future will see it and laugh, but it worked for me so who cares.
I believe it is physically possible to relocate the throttle to the left side, but the throttle will work twisting it away from you instead of toward you. They may sell a universal left handed throttle that will work better.
@@shawnfitzpatrick2954 Oftentimes specific listings are taken down after a while, which is why I provided a link to the results. Any that have a flat wrench to remove the pedals, 8mm L handle, crank removing tool, and chainbreaker will work. Here's a listing to the cheapest set that I found amzn.to/3LEePpi
You can double press the power button to change the modes. Currently the top speed is 19.9mph. I'm not aware of any other methods to unlock the max speed. Thanks
Nice work. My own stupid instinct was maybe 3D Print bigger gears for the back wheel, that would fit over the existing gears? Bigger gears on that back?! Doh! Looking at this... I guess Jetson built the safest ratio as I don't see how back could be smaller. And making the front bigger has some tradeoffs. But I'd not ever know that if you didn't make this video.
Got my Asphalt step over recently, finished assembly in about 1 hr. next day went 35 miles easily, still had about 40% battery. I would recommend this bike, runs nice, looks good. Will really go if you turn it up, the pedal assist really smooth. You still get exercise, but have a lot of options for pedal assist, still can go full power if wanted.
Great video. Simple to follow. I have owned from a different maker a seated scooter for 3 years.. I love the scooter, but there support and battery management are terrible. I've replace 3 batteries in 3 years. Same problem. Battery won't charge. Do you have any knowledge regarding Gotrax service support and battery management? I'm 6'1". Do you think I'll be able to ride comfortably with my feet on the deck without having my knees buckled?
Hello, I've only dealt with Gotrax's marketing department, and not their service department, so I cannot comment on how helpful they are. I'm 5'11", and did not have any issues with knee clearance. There appears to be a few inches of clearance from the stem, so you should be okay. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-h5a3Pl71s1Q.htmlsi=RcyF391UHy1xA0oi&t=33
With Trikes, you need to be or slow down at 2 to 3mph, if not stop on turns. When steering , it will be the pressure increase of your palms on handlebars, say you want to turn right, you press down a bit on left palm handlebar and vice versa. The range of steering is only 3 inches each side or the wheel will lift or suddenly stop. The Mooncool Trikes look awesome, I took a brand below and converted the Trike into E Trike and learned a lot of the difference of the physics between 2 wheel bikes vs 3 . The 3 is centered on the rear 2 tires so there is no such record of highest mph on a Trike Turn, lol. These Trikes are Cruising straightaway physics not to be messed with of high speeds around corners. They are like a Stage Coach ride, both the same of use and physics but without a Horse as the lead, lol. Great Video and that E Trike is awesome!
I’m interested this bike but concerned it would feel cramped even though I’m within the stated height range. Can you please tell me how tall you are and what is your inseam is. Also, based on the difference in top speed when you held up the rear tire vs when you were actually riding, I’m concerned the bike might be too underpowered to handle my weight. I’m not too, too. big but I’m not skinny either! l might be too heavy for this bike, lol. Also, at this price point I assume it doesn’t have a USB charging port, correct? Thanks!
Hello Ellen, I'm 5'11" with a 32" inseam. My knees did not feel cramped while riding, and I still had length to extend the seatpost. The handlebar can also be rotated outwards more if feeling cramped is a concern. It's always better to have a more powerful motor even if you don't utilize the full potential. If the ebike seemed slow to you during the test ride then I'd suggest getting a 500w or 750w motor. Correct it does not have usb charging port.
What is that thing for at the front of the bike between the head and suspension, emblem plate with four holes. Is this some sort of front rack fixing? I noticed the hook washers too, they have to be placed correctly
Yesterday I tested it out with a quick ride with the bike switched off, very achy leg today.. did something in the garden while the battery was charging. Went out for a ride with bike on. the bike doesn't half shift with the speed sensors. Roundabouts a bit tricky and hand signals. If anything my left arm feels weird as I am so used to a MTB reach
@@ColinLeung I'm wondering if Eskute Polluno plus has the same angles. Then again I opted out of that because of a potential integrated screen. What if in say three years times it goes, how am I going to replace it. Nice idea I'll try it for a month but first impressions never will lie, it is too close. It's ok for a shorter person with slightly shorter arms. Now it's stopped raining today, I might go for a ride. Maybe tomorrow, no rush. Ha, when I approach a roundabout and want to turn right, soon as I stop pedalling it's a bit like the brakes are applied, it slows down too quick and when pedal to keep a balance, it shoots forward quick, and when shooting forward while indicating, that is an issue. Turning left while pedaling could be one as well, the opposite. I could look out for a better curve.. I guess someone 5ft 5 may find it a bit too close, their reach would be about an inch closer than 6ft. Then again someone 5ft 5 would struggle with the netuno as that reach is 65cms, so one size fits all does not work
Hello Michael, I sold the scooter shortly after posting this video, so I wasn't able to test the range. Typically I've gotten 1/2 of the advertised range with sprinted riding on other ebikes/escooters. I did not have issues turning with the scooter. I could see how it would be more difficult than a standing scooter due to the larger tires and turning radius, but it's easier to turn than mopeds and motorcycles.
@@ColinLeung I am not sure which lowering springs are presently on the car (R56) but its too low and I want to revert back to factory springs so I was asking if I could purchase the factory springs you removed from your mini. On a different note, does the Suzuki swift springs fit the mini perfectly and if yes which swift
@@1Hotdaddy Unfortunately I don't have the stock springs anymore. I'd suggest checking ebay if you want OEM. Swift was the brand of springs for the Mini Cooper. It appears that they're discontinued.
