That method works too. I tested them off the bike as described in the manual to make sure everything worked in the event parts were defective. It's also easier for viewers to understand how the system works when everything is laid out in one camera frame. Thanks
The kit I bought came with one, and may have had some slack. I can't recall the exact length, but you may be okay. If returns are easy then it wouldn't hurt to buy it, and return it if you don't need it. Or if you're not in a rush you can buy it once you determine that you need it.
