I recall those cars like yesterday. You NEEDED the inserts which would block the sun from coming into those T-tops, too. At least here in Dixie. You pour A/C never would keep up with those T-tops on and the fast back not tinted.
The 1970 'Cuda did not come with a 318 option engine. If the vin begins with "BS" its a real 'Cuda but not the engine. Beautiful car. Like that rally dash package.
Beautiful car!!! You didn't mention the power antenna another option. Oh yeah, and the working sequential taillights, they are mechanical, usually they don't work right. Awesome ride!
In that year they had the dual port 1600. It still needs the heads retorqued and valves adjusted every 10,000 miles. If you do that required maintenance it will last up to 200k miles. Most people never did that and it usually ended in swallowing the # 3 exhaust valve. You have a nice example.
Sorry for the delay. We just added the Volkswagen to our website. Below is the link. Please let me know if there is anything else that we can do for you. www.rocksolidmotorsportsinc.com/vehicles/530/1973-volkswagen-beetle-super-beetle
My Dad was called Falcon Eddie 🤣 He had a Falcon, remade me a Falcon from spare parts, Red with White Vinyl top three speed on the column. Mine was rusted & bondo😅
Ford dealers took deposits but it took TWO YEARS to deliver the first cars after its auto show intro, which as Ford's icon car had less horsepower than some base Mustangs.
Just a bit of information about the Fordamatic on the Y-Block 272 292 and 312 V-8 Fords. It is actually a 3 speed automatic transmission. If you put the gear selector into the low position it will drop into low or 1st gear then putting it back into the drive position it will shift into 2nd and eventually into 3rd. If the kick down linkage is adjusted correctly and you push the throttle to the floor instead of taking off in 2nd gear which is normal operation for the Fordamatic it will immediately drop into 1st gear and probably spin the tires. Unlike the Chevrolet power glide which is only a 2 speed automatic transmission the Fordamatic is a 3 speed automatic transmission. Lots of people drive Fordamatic equipped cars for years and never discover this feature. ( NOTE ) The Fordamatic in six cylinder vehicles I do not believe has this feature. I have had 2 Fordamatic equipped 1955 Fords and was quite happy finding this feature. Also in 1958 the FE series 332 was introduced and it used the new select shift automatic transmission which functioned as a modern 3 speed automatic transmission. And it started off in low gear unlike the Fordamatic automatic transmission. I hope you find this information helpful.
I would much rather have this era Corvette than the current monstrosity, masquerading as a Corvette. I know the latest iteration is a phenomenal sports car and I give the engineers full credit; the trouble is that, in my eyes, it is NOT a Corvette. It is a very impressive sports car, but a Vette it is not.
This is car for enjoyment.. something what you will drive in summer vacation.. .. specialy if someone get convertible version of Ghia .. oh man, perfection. I agree steering is little bit tricky on stock.. but tweak/modify that little bit and is really amazing piece of art.
My bother had a Buick Riveria, this was back 60's, lowered w/buick wires wheel, green metal flake top, g/candy trim around top, bottom g/primer,45 rplayer Motorola vibrasonic system. I would take it for drive early Sunday mornings. Bro was out all night.
awesome car, brings back memories. my mom had one of these when I was born, and got rid of it when i was 6 or 7. I remember they had put a turbo in it that had all sorts of problems. seeing the interior is nostalgic. i was small enough to lay in that back window and look at cars behind us while we drove around the US. though I think hers had a burgundy interior color. everything else was pretty much the same from my memory, from the paint and dash, the rims...hers also had black horizontal lines in the back window. we'd blast meatloaf and billy idol in this thing lol.
I'm driving a black 2002 right now, taking care of it for a friend. Seriously thinking of buying it. It's incredibly impractical for my needs, but... I'm smitten. 😆
