It is years later from my original post and the trouble I have now is finding out how to replace the warped plastic doogie door piece or flap. Larson does not have instructions on such, and I do not wish to replace the door just to resolve this issue. The magnetic ability on our flap is not good now that the plastic flap itself is warped and worn from frequent use by our dogs. It lets cold win in at that room and also flies or mosquitoes, so replacement should indeed be included or on a download file from Larson. It is a really great door, but this issue has not been addressed and I'd hate to have to replace the entire door to resolve this issue.
Hi. The flap on our door has a replacement number on the outside at the very top. It’s hard to see and raised, like brail. Ours says “Petsafe,” and the replacement number is PAC11-11039. Hope this helps!
You sure seem only capable of posting complaints on YT. I saw you post a similarly helpless comment on other videos regarding this product. Ever try reaching out to the manufacturer, or inspecting the door closely? They replied with the part number you should have been able to see yourself and you didnt even thank them.
Serve and protect! 😂 Your Kee Kee looks like my Roger (also female - don’t judge). She behaves the same. She will use to doggie hole if both flaps are up but terrified of the flap. Our boy Leonard was a champion!
I have one but how would you change the screen in the door , I noticed that the screen itself doesn’t seem to be strong for the dogs nails and jumping , so if the screen tears how would you change it ?
Hi. My husband was able to swap the panels (put the panel with the screen on top and the panel with the glass on bottom). I’m not sure exactly how he did it, but the door was designed for the panels to be swapped. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful.
We just bought this door and love it! We didn't like the screen at the bottom so we were happy with it being able to swap position to the top, and then having the stationary glass at the bottom. Nice video thx!
Hi. See around 3:14 in video. If the design of the door is still the same, just push the little white mechanism to the right (you should feel it ‘unlatch’) and flip down. It’s a unusual lock/design. Hope this helps!
Thanks for your time and effort on the door's review. I've got this door ordered and am waiting for it to be delivered and installed, and it was nice to see your videos in the meantime. - Did you know that you look a little like British actress Catherine Tate?
I am a certified door guy. Hang the door frist then drill for the handle. You can move the gide up or down to miss your entrydoor hardware. Also this model is a wood core. I do not remember. Wood rots plain and simple. Spend the extra money and get the hollow aluminium one. It will out last it by far. My favorite stormdoor and I have on my house is the 156FV with the hidden closers.
Hi. We don’t have cats so I can’t say for sure, but we have a friend with a 12 lb. toy poodle who is able to go through the door with no problem when they visit, and another friend with a small Chihuahua who can use the door too. Hope that helps!
Hi. Dallas, the black dog with the tan face, is 29 inches tall sitting down from the floor to the top of his head. He’s 8 inches wide and about 50 lbs. Kee Kee, the tan dog with the black mask, is about 2 or 3 inches taller than Dallas (she was frightened by the measuring tape...), about 8 inches wide and around 56 lbs. Hope that helps!
@@crandmike9678 Thanks!! I just ordered one from Home Depot with similar measurements, so I feel a lot more confident about it now. My dog is about the same size as Dallas 😀
How TALL are your 2 dogs? How WIDE are you 2 dogs? I have 2 Labs...my concern is they will be too big (24 & 26 inches tall at the Shoulder Blades). I'm looking for a door of mostly "glass" so that we still have a view of our backyard w/o covering up the bottom 1/3 of the door glass with a doggie door panel. Thanks.
Dallas is 29 inches tall from head to toe when sitting and he weighs about 50 lbs. Kee kee is probably 2 or 3 inches taller from head to toe and she weighs about 56 lbs. They are both about 8 inches from shoulder to shoulder. The dog door is about 16 inches tall and about 10 inches across. Hope that helps!
I am seriously considering the brown model and the larger one, myself. Thanks for the info. The door can be hinged to either side, so if you had done the opposite side, you would not have the issue with its handle being a problem in hitting your doorknob, I believe, but that may have created issues in having it open and close differently than your solid door. Lowe's is the seller of them here and Home Depot does not carry them here. Your video helps to make my choice easier. Thanks.
