We just got a new storm door with a built in dog door.
Here's how we got our dogs to use it!
One of our dogs had used a doggy door before so he just needed a refresher-we gave him little pieces of cheese and he went in and out no problem. We knocked on the front door to get him to go through on his own and now he is a pro!
Our baby dog was terrified of the rubber flap on the door. She went through if we held or taped the flap up but we had to work with her until she got comfortable using the door on her own. It only took about 3 days and we only worked with her about 5-10 minutes a day. We tried to make it a game so she would have fun.

Serve and protect! 😂 Your Kee Kee looks like my Roger (also female - don’t judge). She behaves the same. She will use to doggie hole if both flaps are up but terrified of the flap. Our boy Leonard was a champion!

How TALL are your 2 dogs? How WIDE are you 2 dogs? I have 2 Labs...my concern is they will be too big (24 & 26 inches tall at the Shoulder Blades). I'm looking for a door of mostly "glass" so that we still have a view of our backyard w/o covering up the bottom 1/3 of the door glass with a doggie door panel. Thanks.

Dallas is 29 inches tall from head to toe when sitting and he weighs about 50 lbs. Kee kee is probably 2 or 3 inches taller from head to toe and she weighs about 56 lbs. They are both about 8 inches from shoulder to shoulder. The dog door is about 16 inches tall and about 10 inches across. Hope that helps!

Hi. Dallas, the black dog with the tan face, is 29 inches tall sitting down from the floor to the top of his head. He’s 8 inches wide and about 50 lbs. Kee Kee, the tan dog with the black mask, is about 2 or 3 inches taller than Dallas (she was frightened by the measuring tape...), about 8 inches wide and around 56 lbs. Hope that helps!

The dog door is about 16 inches from top to bottom and about 10 inches wide:)

@@crandmike9678 Thanks!! I just ordered one from Home Depot with similar measurements, so I feel a lot more confident about it now. My dog is about the same size as Dallas 😀

@@crandmike9678 They didn't have this one in the width we needed, but we got a similar one 😀. Now just have to train him to use it lol
