Hi everyone, I'm gianmaria and I'm Italian. in my channel, I design, build and play musical instruments, such as my home made pipe organ. If you like woodworking, design, classical music but also less serious stuff, this channel could be for you. At the moment I am making the tour with my portative organ and I'm involved in the construction of a new small positive organ
Impressive! Amazing how much air is stored in those bellows and how little you have to inflate it again. I wonder does pushing harder on the bellows make the organ louder and/or affect the pitch?
thanks! if you stay within a certain pressure range you can vary the volume without appreciable changes in pitch, but if you overdo it, in addition to changing the pitch the pipes tend to "octave" I don't know how to say in english...
@nippocast Thank you! Very interesting! In English you would say, "It goes up an octave" or we would just use your native tongue and say it would sound "ottava." Thank you again for taking time to respond! Making instruments is a fantastic adventure and helps you realize why early academia considered music somewhat a mathematical field. Italian: Grazie! Molto interessante!
Suggestion: place some keys at the other side of the bellows to, so that you can use both hands (one for the lower notes and one for the higher notes). Yes, it would be an accordion, but with flutes/pipes, so it would sound like a small organ.
An organ small enough to rest on your lap!? And with just over two octaves, that's enough for basically any melody, with space for some harmony! I wish I had the time and tools to build one myself.
What a coincidence, i recently discovered and started learning some of facoli's works, its really fascinating to learn this early part of keyboard composition, like with how the naming conventions evolved.
Glad to see the end of the construction is nearing. The last 21" were tantalizing: showing a part of the beautiful finished keys moving as intended. Bravo!
Nippo, hello! you should made resonators of diverse shapes to test the sound. Made on wood even, for example 'm trying to do in paper, its a challenge 😅 maybe in wood may be easier, try to do regal (you made), apfelregal, krumhorn, trompette and vox humana... only to test 😊
Nice classical music 🎶, 🕊️ who comes the old medieval time! ❤ thanks again,.. for sharing this amazing music! I enjoy my better time working with,....!
