What do they look like sleeping ????? I just got mine today and all of them are floating belly up at the top of tank but will swim around rapidly if I stimulate them .
Dude im still traumatized as a kid from seeing a fish double the plecos size just dissappear over night. Most likely the bigger fish died naturally since it was old but i dunno mang those things are nasty
One of my first plants, arrived broken to bits. Threw it in the tank floating as a Hail Mary. It made a ton of little baby plants and now I have them all over
I am looking for more information on this post there. I have one of them catfish and everything they're living in a tank with guppies and a cat on the bottom to clean the tank he is doing just fine just wondering how you tell him if they're a male or a female
done more than cleaning the fish tank glass,Given my tank a FULL clean out this time,Filled the tank back up,After cleaning the fish tank stones,Cleaned every thing else fully well,Ive removed the fish,Left in a spare fish tank with spare fish pump,They stay in there for now,I always give it at least 4 hours for the tank water to settle,Then put the fish back in the other tank,Also cleaned out the filter,Now pumping plenty of oxygen flowing through the water
I have seen my pleco eat the scales off of my other fish late at night when the fish are in a sleeping state. The fish end up dying. Once, the pleco acquires the taste they will random kill small and medium size fish in the aquarium
If u still read these let me ask why do people change out aqua soil when it breaks down u can lose plants wouldn't it be better after break down to just add root tabs
I know this is an older video, but I figure i would chime in. I recently did this and it seems to be working out great! I bought a potted pothos from home depot and it was just like you showed. A bunch of little sections with decent roots. I busted one section off and washed off the dirt and I was surprised at how fast the roots began to thrive. It's in a 10 gallon tank that has a betta and a siamese algae eater along with some assassin snails and 1 nerite. The water has not been changed much in months and it already has quite a bit of Java fern, duck weed and another rapid growing plant I can't remember the name of lol I'm doing all this though because I'm about to start a dirted tank (29 gallon) and I will be transferring about half of everything into the 29 gallon along with the other 3/4 of the pothos after the tank is a bit established. Anywho, thanks for the info, I had seen other videos of yours that gave me this idea and it has been great so far, I can't wait to get my 29 gallon going because I will be doing a more pacific island/asian theme for my 10 gallon betta tank with bamboo and a nice Asian style hut with plants glued to it. I love this hobby and everyday I seem to be drawn in just a bit more.
I just planted two plants of jungle Val was worried it might spread to fast but question I put in four swords plants in a new tank Should I cut off all the leaves or just trim them when they die off 🤷🏼♂️😂🙏🇨🇦
What about the nitrogen cycle, I read the bacteria need 25 degrees upwards (uk) to thrive, but if the lottis are at 18 degrees, wont that substantially affect the cycle??
Thank you for this very interesting video. I have a question about cycling using fish. Since during the first weeks the ammonia level may spike and is usually higher than 0 (which is the recommended level for any fish or shrimp), how do I introduce fish in the tank without killing them? Even Guppy, which is considered hardy, requires 0 ammonia. Thank you.
I have dwarf hairgrass floating in a bowl, quite a distance under the light i have for my houseplants, often partially shaded by the leaves above. There is no substrate, just water and hairgrass. No ferts, just top-offs. Its been like that for months. I swear its growing. ...slowly but surely. I plan to carpet my aquarium with it. I had it floating in the aquarium for quite a while but it started to grow & become a big problem lol i still find little sprigs of it floating around my aquarium, ive been fishing them out for months. needless to say, I have high hopes for keeping this plant as a carpet!:)
Good evening, I recently bought plans, and their roots are pretty long. Can I just cut the roots to plant them or do i have to make the whole big enough in my gravel for the entire root.
I’ve always heard how salvina minima doesn’t like water flow or movement but I have 3 aquarium with hob filters and a stock tank with sponge filters and a lot of movement full of them and they’re somehow growing rapidly. Could there be a reason why mine are thriving? Very informative videos 👍🏽
Can you add live substrate with the fish inside? When do you do the 50% water change? I havent found a definitive statement in english or spanish aquarium channels that specifies wether fresh water fish can be in the tank while you make the change
