I hope you enjoy the channel and if you do, hit the like button and subscribe
The best warranties are ones you DONT have to use. Vortex pays in on their warranty… a lot. I’ve had several optics of there’s that have needed warranty work.
@@UltimateArms it should change because on the stock savage the bolt release is on front of the trigger gaurd and on the xrs its a magazine release instead. So where did the bolt release go?
can i ask what the measurement from the eyepiece to the start of the turret? i will be mounting mine in a one piece and i like it set pretty far back for prs
that is a acra baill head that is set into the tripod itself. you dont need to buy one. here is a link for you to look at! hope it helps sunwayfoto.com/products/t4040cs-hunting-tripod-for-shooting-rifle-stand-carbon-fiber
was it a gen 1 or a gen 2. i've had no problems with this one since i got it. same though as the arken other than the turret cap loosens off on me once an awhile.
Nice man. Eyeballing that Howa. I was almost sold on a Sauer or Mauser but the Howa has more aftermarket support. I was thinking of a Howa 1500 barreled action and buy a stock but the Hera H7 seems like the better deal. 700's are legendary and maybe one day
I have both, both are in 308. The franchi momentum is very accurate and not real picky about ammo. The Ruger American Gen 2 is very accurate but likes 150gr. All that being said, I think the Ruger stock feels better to me. I'm a big guy 6'4" 290lbs. I prefer the Ruger.JMHO
im not that big of a guy but i do like the ruger better. just feels right in the hands, glad you enjoy both rifles. thanks for the comment and please dont forget to subscribe!
I have a Momentum in .308. The trigger is great, I have no issues with it. What I don't care for is the stock, there is quite a bit of flex in the forend. There also aren' t many options to replace it. The barrel is free float, but the flex can cause the barrel to touch the stock in certain situations. Accuracy is great, the action is smooth. I don't care that it didn't come with a pic rail since it takes 700 pattern rings & I can get as close to the bore as possible with that setup. I don't like that it didn't come with a brake, which was another $80. Overall, though, it's a great value for the money. You are basically getting an accurate, reliable hunting rifle that you won't care if you ding it up from the oldest gun manufacturer in the world (Beretta).
i myself dont care about a brake. the accuracy is great. but no pic rail and a sloppy trigger is a problem. thanks for the comment and please dont forget to subscribe. thanks again!
Thanks for the video. I have the Franchi (Elite) and honestly I think they dont get enough credit for the quality and value you get in a hunting rifle. Its a hunting rifle, I will accuracy everytime and spend a little more on the optics.
I have the Franchi elite in .308 and have only had the chance to hold a gen2. The trigger in mine is real crisp and breaks sharp, the RA in the gunshop had a whole lot of creep to the point the workers said he would have to swap/upgrade its trigger. As said mine is the elite so maybe that's the difference, how ever the Franchi has a 7yr warranty on moving parts so maybe you could swap.
@@UltimateArms In Australia Barreta has probally one of the best warranties in the market. I find the Franchi shoulder well for me and wieght distribution is spot on for a stalker rifle. How did you find the Ruger
@@bennonlapworth5026 i like the way it shoots. i also like i can add weight to the butt of the rifle to balance it more if i want, and adjust the length of pull and the comb. but the franchi does shoot a little better through. both are good rifles, but i still like the ruger!.
What type of lenses do you shoot with, are they for reading, distance or special for the scope . Would love to know what is the prescription you have for shooting. That you Albert
@albertattwood8746 my glasses are trifocals I'm blind as a bat anymore, lol hope that answers the question some lol. Thanks for the comment and don't forget to subscribe
I would also go with the Ruger overall. I've seen other reviews where I've seen the new ruger american gen 2's are very ammo picky. WTW did one on a ranch and shot a bunch of ammo that was not grouping all that great and he found a round that was dead on. I suspect with the rugers it seems you have to do more searching to see what it likes. If you're a handloader though you'll likely be able to make both guns shoot lights out.
Hello, I have watched almost every hunting rifle review. I can't decide which one I want to buy. Could you please help me out and suggest few cheap rifles worth considering.
I don't want to say it but.... is this CZ 600 a Remington 700 killer? I think it has potential for it's quality and price. All it's missing is a metal trigger guard and a full rail on top.
I know a few people who had the Arken EP5 and are not happy with it. If you have the Vortex Venom, you are very happy with it! The quality, the lenses, the reticle... everything is better with the Vortex. Even the guarantee is better. We tested the Arken EP5, Arken SH4, Vortex Venom 5-25x56, Sig Sauer Tango4 4-24x50, Meopta ZD 6-24x56 RD, Vortex Strike Eagle 5-25x56, Vector Optics Continental x6 4-24x56 on a 1000m shooting range. The best was the Sig Sauer, then came the Vortex Venom, Meopta ZD, Vortex Strike Eagle, Vector Continental. The Arken came in the last two places. Tested with .223, .308 and .338 at 100, 200, 500 and 1000m the durability of the Arken at cal. from .308 is simply bad. after prolonged use, the towers are spongy
see i'd be hard pressed to get the stevens, but at the same time they both shoot really well. the trigger on the stevens would be the let down for me. but if i get my deer with it then maybe its worth it. thanks for the review, now i have to really think which one i really want this year LOL keep up the good work!!!
