discovery listened to the users, i used to have the old first gen hd scopes and i just bought the ed-prs 5-25 gen ii and the ed-lht 3-15 gen ii, both surpassed my expectations on the the glass clarity. i love my vortex venom and my element titan but for the price, discovery is king.
I don’t like how the Discovery is shorter on the back side. With some Chassis rifles it doesn’t sit back far enough for proper eye relief. Even though it’s longer than the Arken. It’s shorter on the back side. I own both. And they are great for the money. Arken has better resale value. And definitely a better reputation when it comes to honoring their warranty.
Well hate to tell you buy the arken ep5, and the Discovery ed prs, are both 3.5 inches from the center of the turrets to the start of the magnification. What's different is that the Discovery is longer on the front of the scope unlike the arken. Thanks for the comment
One more thing... Both are made in China. Chinese glass has come a long, long, long way in the past few years but that's still a dealbreaker for a lot of people. One thing I did like a lot about the discovery is the serialized qc checklist that came with mine

@@UltimateArms I think the glass is better on the Discovery too. Granted, I don't have the EP-5, but I have the SH-4J (which also has Japanese glass) so it's not exactly an apples to apples comparison. Is the glass on the Discovery as good as what's in my Titan or Leupold Mk5? No. And it shouldn't be. Both those are way more expensive. The Discovery is a damn good scope for the money.
can i ask what the measurement from the eyepiece to the start of the turret? i will be mounting mine in a one piece and i like it set pretty far back for prs

Definitely ARKEN OPTICS ALL THE WAY. DISCOVERY OPTICS WARRANTY IS A NIGHTMARE!!! REALLY REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE ON THIS. WARRANTY CLAIM IS LIKE A JOKE TO THEM. ARKEN ALL THE WAY.
@linkchen8245 I haven't had any issue with. Im just sharing for awareness. Regardless of how bad it is, it think it won't compare to the horrors of Discovery Optics!!! They even told me I might be a scammer, haha 😄 The first reply that I got thru email was after 2 weeks, then I tried their facebook page took them much more. In the end they will tell you to buy new one from their product because the model that you bought is no longer in production. Duh!!! Hahahha That's LIFETIME WARRANTY FOR YOU. ANYWAY, IM JUST WAITING FOR OTHERS AND THE CASE TO BUILD UP. HOPEFULLY THEY GET A LAWSUIT!!! THAT LIFETIME WARRANTY IS BOUND TO FAIL. HOPE THE ENDORSER DON'T GET TANGLE IN THE SUIT COZ THEY ARE THE SUPPLIER ANYWAY. THEY BETTER THINK HARD AND WISE FAST!!!
