Watch as I tackle home improvent projects, auto repairs, small engine repairs, hunt, shoot and live my life as DIY as possible. I am also trying to get my family prepared for any natural or man-made disaster. I am not an expert in most of these areas, but I continue to work and learn.
@Mudford so I found out what the differences are in the two BT150 one with the blue choke is a standard 2 stroke engine the other one with the red choke control has the newest X torque engine which provides much more power and is considered commercial grade. It has alot more torque at higher speeds making it a better choice. There both the same price but the blue choke one goes on sale alot for $279 while the other one holds at $349. For the extra $70 go with the red choke lever unit.
My P-C drill and impact driver are fine but the sawsall from the set failed a few years ago. Batteries still going strong after 7 years. Replaced the sawsall with a chorded version from cheaper brand. Lots more power.
That is what I did. If you don't have a place to tune it, you can mail your computer to ZZP and they will set it up and send it back. Make sure E85 is readily available where you live. Here in Michigan it is available at all Meijer gas stations, but in some areas the gas stations have quit selling it.
Thanks. He did a great job finishing it up. Sitting it on pavers was a good idea. They absorb heat all day and keep it warm inside after the sun goes down.
I've got 3k hours on mine and it started giving me some trouble today. First time. Spark arrestor was clogged pretty good and the air filter needed a good cleaning. The carbon monoxide fault killed it earlier so I guess I'll bypass it
Well, you shouldn't really burn your eyes because it should have at least 16 of constant protection All The time even without autodarkening. So. Lucky you.
I wish you would have showed where that bolt is to loosen the front eccentric, i have a 1997 Scrambler 4x4 im rebuilding and im throwing all new chains on it but i cant seem to get them both on at the same time. The rear and middle chains were no problem but the front and middle wont play nice together, lol. I loosened the middle eccentric and with some blaster it was moving by hand in minutes. Thats strange for a Pennsylvania vehicle. I figured it would be solid rust. I think it was someones garage kept baby for a long time, but whoever had it recently hasnt replaced jack in a long time. I shouldnt have paid 1500 for it but i didnt know it needed everything. Im about to do the swingarm bushings and brakes and hub bearings next and i believe it will be done. Ive done quite a bit to it. Im anxious. I bought my daughter a 2000 trail boss for her birthday so we can ride together and it was good to go, i wish the scrammy would have been but those are usually more beat on. I like your videos. If you can please make a quick video about how to adjust the front chain on a Polaris or even try to explain it here id be grateful. I believe they quit using chain drive front ends in 98 so not alot of info online about it. Your video here is all i found about it. Thanks again for the videos. Update: i watched this video with my brightness turned up all the way, now i see the bolt you were talking about for the front eccentric. Thanks for making this. Its the only video on the internet about the front eccentric on older polaris atvs.
Nice video man thanks! I bought a whole new head after my stock one stripped and now the oem one had two stripped, I’m gonna do this when I go on days off thank you!!
I installed the ZZP headers they are more expensive , but not too bad with their military discount and overall a better header and it fits better. Ditched the EGR valve and deleted it. Ran into the same problem with the dip stick tube. Had to go to the junk yard to get 2 dipstick tubes and finally got one to fit with a little heat in the vice and twisting and turning. They been on now about 4 years and no problems. Initially had the short stack IC with a 3.2 pulley but was still getting some KR while running it hard and went with the Stage 2 IC and no KR now. I think ZZP is phasing out their 3800 platform. They are not restocking many parts when their stock runs out. Recently went to buy 40# Siemens injectors and they are out and have no plans to restock them, tried to sell me 80# but that was overkill so went to Intense Racing and got them
$1100 for the ZZP headers now vs $170 for the Speed Daddy. I know they aren’t good, but I have fixed the rear one and put the flex pipe on V-bands for east replacement. ZZP is still making most 3800 parts, but you are right. Not as many as they used to. I was able to get what I needed for an engine build. They are lacking in transmission options for higher horsepower builds though.
I just ordered a throttlebody before I did my due diligence. And he called me a few days later and tried to talk me into this a bunch of other upgrades and stuff just for my money he literally is a con artist… but he said luckily my package would be shipped after he gets home from vacation from Las Vegas next week… he’s such a joke
So after filing my complaint last week and sending all my evidence,to my surprise, half of my order came in the mail today. Still missing a good amount of products from the order. Still haven’t received any communication from him whatsoever.
Like a dumbass I took mine apart in the yard where it broke down and lost the needle somewhere in the yard I mowed the grass by hand pulling the grass out and could not find it so therefore no mower for me I suppose I'm going to have to pull all the grass out by hand thank you for the video it was not clear when you put the needle back in it was off camera therefore when I do find mine I'm going to try and pay attention to put it in correctly the first time if not I suppose I'll be taking apart yet again
I have a 2008 chevy equinox and it started doing the same humming noise, So can I just pull the Abs motor fuse and use my car safely until the new part arrives? thanks
My machine shop took care of that. I gave them all of the cam information from ZZP when I gave them the heads. They checked for straightness and ground the seats for the bigger valves, also.
Stock bore and stroke. I’m just doing cam and head work and upgrading to a Gen 5 Supercharger. I just wanted to make sure the bottom end was good. Going with all ARP fasteners since I’ve got it apart.
It will make some good HP numbers for a V6. Any higher and I won’t be able to keep a transmission together. I enjoy having a sleeper car. Most people don’t suspect how fast it really is.
