I think this should deserve more likes, for how meaningful and impactful this really is. As a conductor, I have absolutely loved Robert's works, especially The Divine Comedy. He's such an amazing person, and I never want him to quit. His passion is massive.
This was wonderful! I'm sorry I couldn't watch it live, but thanks so much for making it available here. My first private composition lessons were with Mr. Jager in the early 1970s at TTU. I always looked forward to those lessons, knowing I would learn a lot and that he would make it enjoyable each time. I did some writing in the 1970s & 80s, had a few small successes, but then had a long period of not writing much, even though it was what I always wanted to do. I retired from a government job in 2014 and started writing again and studying with some excellent composers. I thank God for each day when I can sit down with my keyboard and Sibelius program and invite the creativity to flow. I've concentrated on brass quintet works and church choir pieces. I've self-published the brass works and they've sold in 35 states and 5 countries (besides the USA). I thank Mr. Jager for getting me started on this path . Whether it leads to success publicly or not, I'm having a blast doing it, I believe I'm using the gifts God has mercifully given me, and I plan to compose until I'm decomposing! (Jager humor??)
