Welcome to the Official RU-vid channel Alvin Lee that has been created by his family.
Born in Nottingham, England. Alvin Lee began playing guitar aged 13 & formed the core of the band Ten Years After by aged 15. Originally influenced by his parent's collection of jazz & blues records, it was the advent of rock & roll that truly sparked his interest & creativity with guitarists like Chuck Berry & Scotty Moore providing his inspiration.
With Lee as guitarist, singer & songwriter, TYA first toured America in 1968 at the invitation of legendary 'Fillmore' promoter Bill Graham. Audiences were immediately taken with the band's innovative mix of blues, swing, jazz & rock alongside Lee's distinctive, soulful, rapid fire guitar playing.
His virtuoso performance at Woodstock, captured on film in the documentary of the festival, remains a standard today for many guitarists & continues to introduce him to new music fans all over the world.
Thank you for sharing and keeping him in your hearts.
Back in the day Alvin could cram as many notes into a bar of music and shred with the best of em . Here he slows it down and lets it flow . Well done Alvin Lee !

He was very famous he just turned it down. He said the bigger venues and 20000 people wasn’t about the music it was about the money and he went back playing smaller venues. I am 69 and I remember listening to him at twelve years old and I listen to this song and his other music to this day.
I heard that about him, something along the lines he just stopped playing in the middle of a song once to see the crowds reaction and they just kept on with their hollerin and partying and he realized they weren't there for the music they just wanted to be able to say they were there.
To all my guitar buddies out there, do you know what he plays at 5:04? It sounds like a very fast legato run, but the tabs I find online don't seem to capture the exact sound. Any ideas?
The Bluest Blues I couldn't wait to see you - waiting by the door There's no one there to meet me And your clothes are on the floor Sorry if i hurt you - and i made you cry Couldn't stand to see you - with another guy It's the bluest blues - and it cuts me like a knife It's the bluest blues - since you walked out of my life Couldn't really tell you How you hurt my pride Something broke within me - down inside I never knew i loved you - til you went away Now the loneliness surrounds me - everyday It's the bluest blues - since you walked out of the door It's the bluest blues - cause i won't see you no more I'm sorry if i failed you - If somehow i'm to blame It's the bluest blues i'm feeling It's a cryin' shame I just can't live without you - face another day It's the bluest blues i'm feeling And it's here to stay It's the bluest blues, and it cuts me to the bone It's the bluest blues When you can't find your way home
I had a comparison 💙 WAR, between GARY MOORE "I LOVE YOU MORE THAN YOU'LL EVER KNOW" and this monster. After all the tears and bluesy times I'VE decided that in another 20 years, I might be able to request help in making that decision, until then I'm awfully busy trying to figure out which of those two perfect blues anthems should be played first and which should be played last, every single day. I'm in a quandry--- & pray to be in that quandary FOREVER. RIP ALVIN GEORGE GARY THANX TO THE BLUEST BLUES OF ANGELS TO KEEP ME THERE AMEN

RIP Alvin who passed away in 2013 at the young age of 68. Loved 10 Year After and especially “I’d Love to Change the World” which came out when I was in Jr. HS. Alvin went on after the band breakup to become a great blues player!
Обожаю Элвина Ли. Впервые услышал его виртуозную игру на гитаре во время фестиваля Вудсток'69 ... Хоть на пять лет позже, но влюбился в его музыку. В 15 лет подсел на Then Years After, слушаю до сих пор. Мне уже 62. Покойся с миром, Элвис. Ты оставил глубокий след в музыке.
