Great review. For me the lack of good stabilization is a deal breaker. This is supposed to be an action cam after all. A good alternative is to get the Ozmo action 3 which is now heavily discounted now that the Ozmo 4 is out.
I so agree, Its far better to go and buy a gopro or osmo from a few years ago and get far better performance. Its a shame that years ago we gad Sjcam etc but these days there isn't much going for the cheaper brands - not even price that much. Thanks for watching.
That's the standard chemical repellent, not electronic - it just uses electricity for heat. The active ingredient of those is some type of pyrethroid, a substance first found in the chrysanthemum. It is a neurotoxin which only works on the nervous system of a certain type of insects, including mosquitoes and midges. It doesn't appear to work on other type of insects or arthropods like flies, fruit flies, moths, butterflies, and fortunately also bees and spiders seem not to be affected. Depending on the concentration of the pyrethroid in the air, it will affect the coordination of the mosquito and make it very difficult or impossible for them to bite you. When I have a mosquito plug active, I can often hear them flying - clumsily and erratically - around me, but they apparently can't attack me. It's for all the world as if they were drunk. In high enough concentration, it kills them outright. So it is really non-toxic to you and other mammalia whom you're likely to keep as pets. Whether it is totally harmless to you and your animals is a different matter - we simply don't know. So far, there are no indications of any harm. But it's still a good policy to use them at as low an intensity as you can, and only use them when you must. The reason why that lamp has a blink mode is not because "people want it", it's much more trivial and ridiculous: the vast majority of Chinese lamps use the same chip. Those chips absolutely flood the market, and are so cheaply made (and cheap) that they all have the same programming, whether the product requires it or not. You get full power mode, low intensity PWM-run mode, and a blinking mode which you have to cycle through. If you press and hold the switch, you usually also get an SOS-Mode and/or a strobe mode. There are variants, but apparently the Chinese manufacturers either don't care or don't know what they are, and they just buy the cheapest they can get at the time. The chips are so absolutely dirt-cheap that they're also used in applications where they make absolutely no sense, just as an On/Off switch, and sometimes they will try to sell the weird behaviour of the devices as a feature - or not mention it at all.
No problem, sorry for not memorising the specs for you! Appreciate the "some bloke" title. The fact I have the item in my hand and show it's function leans towards review status un my eyes, but hey can't please everyone.
Great video Garry. That was definitely a beautiful area that you found to pitch your tent in. You survived the attack of the midges so that was an accomplishment in itself. Take care and enjoy the outdoors. See you on the next one.
since you use dual view the effective resolution in 4k with two views is 1080p per video, but i suspect the 4k on the GA440 is upscaled 1080p anyways, like it is on the GA400 and GA420 (which have about the same quality), or do you see a difference between 1080p and 4k on the GA440 when you zoom in? At least they cheat less with the angle now, on the GA400 and GA420 the even claimed a FOV of 170°, which is even more than all the real top of the pops cameras, while the true FOV is about 90°, but all the budget cameras seem to exaggerate their specs. Nevertheless, they are good secondary and tertiary cameras for the prize (at least with the 30% off discounts which they give at amazon), if you disable the stabilization and film from rest the quality ain't even that bad but at high motion the shutter speed is too low, due to the small sensor
Never, in 3 decades of camping but I suppose it had to happen eventually just annoyed as I'd finally nodded off as my back had been hurting. It seems like this area is a no go but I did camp up there years ago solo and right on the edge no issues but maybe I was lucky. Lockdown did the most harm to this pursuit.
R u sure u can play Spotify? Not from the phone but from the Watch itself,? I’m not referring to control Spotify on your phone from your watch if u know what I mean?
You use remotify and connect your bluetooth headphones to the watch. You still use the phones internet connection obviously but your playlists appear on the watch.
I think the M1 Pro is brighter but you’d need to run it on full power, not eco or battery saving mode. You can run Kodi directly from the M1 Pro and that is worth its weight in gold to me. I much prefer the old M1 from a build quality point of view BUT the reason I upgraded was to be free of the AWFUL focus dial on the M1 which you constantly have to tweak and the PRO has a much better focus wheel. I’ll be selling the M1 and keeping the Pro.
I think we need to take all these gadgets with a pinch of salt. Have galaxy watch, mi body comp scales, but on the positive side its great for motivation, when I got my watch i hit over 10000 steps nearly everyday, i now cycle to work 15km every work day and swim 2km 3 times a week...... And i was a bit of couch potato, and even thou I work shifts (not nights) I get to bed between 22pm and 23pm and set the alarm for 7am. So for me they are great for motivation. And I do feel the benefits
Nice video, I've just ordered the balance today, can't wait to get it. The battery of the watch 6 was a drawback to me, that's why i choose the balance. I don't want to worry about the battery with my watch. shout out from Canada!
Brilliant, you will love it. I just wearmine 95% of the time, the battery life is simply awesome and it is great with the zep pay on it. Thanks for watching and enjoy your watch.
Thanks for the review! I have the M1+ for nearly 2 years now. Great projector for the price and size! My question is, Do you connect straightly your S23 with the projector's USB-C, and it works? I mean the phone can straightly send image and sound to projector via USB-C? I am trying to do that with Samsung S10+ but I still cannot do it.
Yeah my S24 ulttra just connects fine by usb c, Id imagine if your S10 has its firmware upto date it should be fine? Sorry I dont have any other phone to try or I'd check it out for you.
The balance and gtr4 are 46mm, the balance and galaxy are both 480 x 480 resolution. All I know is the Balance has the best screen I've ever used on a watch. Thanks for commenting and watching, Happy New Year.
Do you find that the balance aluminum body scratches easier? How does it compare to the screen on the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro seeing as how that one came with an Ultra HD Amoled screen and the balance only has an HD Amoled screen with slightly less PPI.
Hi, I had the GTR 3 pro and the balance screen seems to me to be better - infact the best out of any Amazfit ive owned - but then again none of them were bad screens. Ive been very carefull and dont use my watch anywhere it can get damaged - if iM out hiking etc I use a protector that goes around the body but I imagine both models would scratch if you brushed up against something hard?
@@garrygadgetreturned gtr3pro yesterday since its screen is blurier than my 1st gen GTR 47mm.does balance has better and sharper than gtr3 pro? i really hated it when i saw it its unacceptable for a pro model since 1st gen gtr had a great and sharp screen. also does balance felt cheap since its too light like gtr3pro?
I purchased the smartwatch and if you want to pay with the card you have to sign up to Curve then they ask for a monthly subscription of €5.99 to use your card associated with their service. That doesn't seem like a good thing to me.
Never forget the Equipment comes from the lowest bidder ;-) Check out the austrian tent halfs...should be lighter and water proof...just not so robust...
I've not worn my Galaxy since getting the Balance as its so nice, just having issues getting my Alexa to work since I reset it. Thanks for watching and commenting, Merry Xmas.
I really like the Balance, I bought it as a successor to the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic (mainly thanks to this video), but unfortunately the Galaxy remains and the Balance goes back to the dealer :( Balance shows completely false values, especially for sleep monitoring. I spend half the night awake and working, according to him, my sleep was perfect and at that time I was in the REM phase. But he also recognized as sleep that he was resting on the table and even measured his pulse :D So it makes no sense. But the step counting is also pretty silly, because it only takes arm swings into account, so when I was shopping, I measured 0 steps in almost an hour while pushing the cart, while the Samsung smoothly recorded 1334 steps on my other hand. It records and shows a lot of data during training, but I no longer trust the authenticity of this data either.
Im gutted for you, plus I feel responsible to an extent. In all honesty my findings have been the polar opposite. The classic is great and Im not getting rid but the balance is the first Amazfit Ive owned that has been really accurrate., it is the only one that tracks my sleep accurately . I doont understand why the step count didnt work, as mine doesn't need my arms to move to register my steps? All watches are not medical grade though and are there to give us an idea of whats going on. Is there a chance you got a dud? as my balance ive kept but sold the GTR4 as I love the balance to much. I still wear the Galaxy but its the battery or lack of it that does me in. Merry Xmas and thanks for watching.@@NaranekKosh
I have a Samsung Watch with Curve used on the watch to make payments. I'm trying to use Curve on the Amazfit Balance and cant get it to work. Do I need to delink the Curve App from Samsung Pay first.
I had the same issue, I had to delete my samsung curve account and opened an actual curve account. I did mention it in the video. Once I did this then Zepp pay worked fine and I used Google wallet on my Samsung and put the curve card into that as well. No need for samsung pay anymore. Any issues let me know?
Hi, yeah it's got a raised edge so I've only managed to get one from Amazon to protect the centre from scratches. I'll look for a full one but I'm loath to cover up such an awesome looking device.
Thanks, I ordered mine 2 days ago, still racking my brain if I shouldn't have gone for GW 6, having a samsung phone. But shitty battery and the weight and size of GW6 classic with an overload of apps I probably wouldn't use anyway made me pass on that one. Thanks for the info on spotify, I couldn't find it. Although if I go to for a run I'd rather have a possibility the play an offline playlist not to bring the phone along, but I guess you can't have everything. Maybe they'll work on that in some update. Nice to have the space for mp3s though. One more thing to mention, you can't use maps like in Wear OS, which is also a pity. Glad that it got payments enabled and the watch looks beautiful overall.
Hi thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, I really appreciate it. I honestly kept telling myself I needed to use my GW6 due to its lte ability but the reality is I never don't carry my phone!!!!!!! The ma and go into more detailp thing also isn't an issue as you can export maps and routes into the balance or GTR4 and use them with the inbuilt GPS. Ill probably do another video just covering off its apps in more detail. Glad this helped and let me know how you get on with your watch?
@@garrygadget LTE is just draining even more battery (i assume it would be enough for less than a day on GW6? ). It's not worth browsing the internet on the watch or making calls directly from the smartwatch - carrying a phone is not that painful :) but that's just my opinion and I'm quite new to these devices About the maps, yeah I'm aware, probably will test this out when I get my hands on it. Cool channel, thanks for the response
A new toy for Bonnie and a new tool for you (dual purpose), it might lead to some new twists for your videos and add to your filming arsenal. Always glad to see you out there with your cameras. Thanks for giving us a look at your new gadget my friend. I will see you on the next one.
Great comparison, thanks! I've been hoping one of these would come up in the Black Friday sales, but no joy so far. I think the Spotify issue people have with these is that you can't download your playlist to the phone to listen from the watch if you went out for a run without your phone, but i know you can add mp3s directly onto it, so it's not the end of the world (if you can find some mp3 lying around!). How do you find the notification support on these watches? I've not owned a smart watch before and I'm hoping it'll give me the ability to dismiss notifications and delete unwanted emails from the phone as well as just from the watch list. I presume Wear OS can do this, but can ZeppOS? Thanks 👍
Thanks for watching and your comment, I was worried I hadn't gone into as much depth as some reviewers do. The app for spotify is perfect, I can access all my music on my spotify account perfectly and play them using a BT headset. All my notifications pop up and I can use pre set messages etc or dismiss. I cant actually answer items like with wear OS but I honestly find it perfectly acceptable.
That was a very interesting walk Garry. It's incredible how much effort that was put into constructing all of those tunnels through there. Probably the vast majority of the work was done by human hands and without the benefit of specialized construction equipment. I love that there is efforts being made to preserve these areas so they are available for public use and enjoyment. Thank you for allowing us to join you. See you on the next one.
I do love exploring these sites of national heritage - it is nice that we are saving these historic sites from the industrial revolution that helped to build the modern world we all take for granted now.
They are superb bits of kit, Ive got the one you can insert the sleep matt in now as I had issues with getting my underquilt to hang on it as well as I liked.
Nice video Garry. I have always enjoyed visiting the coast when the storms come in. Nothing better that going out into the worst part of it for a while and then going on into a nice warm room with a view and drink a cup of hot chocolate or coffee and enjoy the warmth (while looking out the window at the storm.) It appears that you managed to find a very good place to stay there. Thanks for taking the time to video some of your adventure and share it with us, I will see you on the next one.
The trouble with the Peak District is it’s all accessible very easily not like the Lakes or Scotland and Wales and every scrote from scrotesville are crawling out of their scrotey caves from all the 4 surrounding cities that are so close to our lovely peaks and jumping on the bandwagon. But unlike the majority of us wild campers and fellow carers of our wonderful countryside who practice LNT and are very respectful of our earth. THEY are leaving all their crap behind with their scrotey friends who think they can just be the dickheads that they are and behave like they do at their cave dwellings in the cities. They even trash the car parks with their crap, I’ve picked up bags and bags of litter just tossed out of their scrotey cars! This is what’s pissed the rangers off, because they are having to clear it up! The rangers are the ones staying up all night with the fire brigade because some scrote had a fire to cook a Richmond sausage and now WE are all tarnished with the scrotes! I don’t even think it’s a generation thing, I think it’s the type of unhumans that are frequenting our amazing Peak District and probably now infiltrating the Lakes,Scotland, Wales etc. At the same time if I am ever asked to go at that time of night I would say no, it’s dangerous and life threatening, fetch the police if you like 😂 or shoot me 😂😂 RESPECTFULLY OFCOURSE! - Rant over and a great video mate, don’t ever stop enjoying our amazing national parks. 👍🏻
