my hem looks beutiful but here and there there are tiny fabrics showing...after washing it look BAD !! hem looks perfect but it seems like my cotton fabric is fraying creating tiny balls of fabric in between roll hem...tips ?
@@luisalove30 Ermm the type I made was a cascade ruffle I think tbff I’m still learning I’ve decided to sew it it right sides together the the ruffle inside of the dress cut the excess then fold it over then top stitch it with twin needle 😂 going to try that method then revise if needed thank you
Thank you for this wonderful demonstration. A very simple, easy and quick explanation. I’m trying to lengthen a cuff on a woven wool fabric. I have an overlocker which is over 30 years old and it still works well enough for my purposes. This method will work!
This was so helpful! I just started sewing again, and broke down today and got a Brother Serger, 1034D. I bought some Missoni knit fabric a while ago on sale, and was wondering if you would recommend a rolled hem. I like the look of a rolled hem a lot, but am super inexperienced with all of this. What do you suggest?
Thank you for your detailed and simplified tutorial. I have to mention that you keep referring to the foot pedal or foot control as a presser foot, this is incorrect and confusing to new sewists. A presser foot is located right where the needle/needles are and help guide fabric as we sew. A foot pedal is where we press with our feet as we sew to give power to the sewing machine. 🙂
Thank you for this! I've been looking for a Brother Serger rolled hem video everywhere. This is so easy to follow. It's so pretty - excited to use this on everything;)))))
I’m so bummed that your last video was 4 years ago. Your videos are perfect, short, direct and to the point. No unnecessary chatter. Gawd, so refreshing
Thank you for your tutorial you stopped me having to abandon my treat to myself sewing day. I’d sewn one edge and the thread broke. I tried, and failed to read the instruction book. Back to self-care sewing time now. Thank you! 🧵 🪡
Thank you for this. I opened mine up thinking it would be a mess, but it was pretty clean. Just a few spots that had matted fibers that slid out with my seam ripper. When I put it back together I tightened the screws too much so had to loosen them. Now things are running smoothly. Thanks again!
This was super helpful! I'm looking into getting a serger since I've just began sewing clothes for my kids, and this is looking more and more like one that I want to get! Thank you for making this video! =]
Do Not use canned air on your sewing machine- especially a computerized one. The propellant leaves a residue that gums up your machine and is a death knell to compute components.
How wide does the rolled hem gets? Narrowness is the key for me and it looks very narrow on the film, but when I did it (have the same machine), it is 0.5cm (1/16 inch), which is too wide to use as a fine finishing edge for a garment. Is there way to make it narrow?
