I don't think there's a "rule" of when to pray out loud or in silence, I think it's something we do automatically as human being when we're being real. I think what God is telling is us is to be true with him, to truly express what is in our hearts, silent or Not. For Example, Jesus said when you pray go to your room and close the door and pray in secret to your Father...does it mean that when you enter your room and close the door you HAVE to be silent when you pray? I don't think so, It just means to go somewhere when you want to talk to your Heavenly Father in private or when your Heavenly Father wants to talk to you in private, having that one on one communication. Same thing with when Jesus said "when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him" does that mean you shouldn't pray long? Not at all because King David had some of the longest prayers in the bible. All this I believe is God telling us to be true with Him, to pour out our heart to Him for example; most of the time I pray in my heart but when things are really serious I automatically open my mouth without thinking, I just pray out loud like "God I'm really struggling right now and I need your help" lol, it's something we automatically do, when we speak to our friends or family members we normally speak in a low soft tone when we are just communicating but other times we yell "HELP" to them When we're in a tight situation or scream with joy when we won a game or something lool, do we do that out of rules? No, we just do them because.....we just do them, it's in our nature of expressing real emotions. So I believe it's the same thing with God, just be real with Him (with respect of course lol) and express what is in your heart, let him know how you feel no matter how long your talk with Him is or how short....as long that you are pouring your sincere heart to him. That's what I noticed about the believers in the scripture they were sincere with God, when you read their prayers you can somewhat understand what they must have felt or went through or going through, they really let God know what was in their hearts and I believe God loves it when we are being true with Him this is why it says "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" make sense because when you are broken hearted you express genuine sincere emotions, even your silence speaks louder then words.

Almost ALL Oneness haters attack with John 17:3. What they don't know, or are ignoring, is that Jesus was referring to all of the OTHER little 'g' gods that were so well-known and spoken of in that day. EVERYONE had a god at that time. What Jesus was saying was that the Christian God, the God of the Bible, is the ONLY TRUE God. He was most certainly NOT saying that HE was not God. The fact that the Bible teaches that Jesus is God throughout, and that He Himself declares to BE God, proves that they are misinterpreting John 17:3. God bless.
I’m in my late 50s and all my life my prayers have only been silent unless I was praying with someone else. Lately I’ve been speaking my morning prayers quietly but not just thinking them. I feel with the way my mind can wander with thoughts that it gives better focus on what I’m praying by speaking and I really can feel a connection to God while doing so. On a side note, I think there is starting to be a spiritual awakening in our country right now. So many people are now speaking about the importance of God in our lives. It’s really an awesome thing that we need so badly at this time. I don’t think I’m the only person that’s noticing this change.
Lots so called apostolic churches are being controlled by narcissistic pastors that condition the people that if they leave their church they will loose out with God. That is not necessarily true they just want to control people. These pastors are toxic and say that the people that leave are bitter.
Yep. Lol. When I first started praying it wss in silence. So many random thoughts would pop out of nowhere. I was rarely saying full sentences nor asking God full questions.
Amen i agree but one thing that I wanted to ask isn't there some situations where you have to pray in silence so the devil doesn't know what your praying for or about? Doesn't God walk in silence in some situations & just takes action in don't tell us in we don't know until it happens then he'll take us to scripture in explain to us why it happened any how just thought i'd ask what your thoughts are thats been my experience

I was told: If you verbalize your prayers, wants and needs it is heard & known from "everybody and everything" around you which it's not always convinient etc etc etc. I know you understand what I'm trying to ssy here. When you pray direct to God in silence from your heart ONLY God can hear you. I think it would depend on what your prayers are.
Is it proper to believe the fleshly suit God used is not to be worshipped, but rather Jesus's Spirit which is God that dwelled in the body of Jesus. I find it wierd that I am to worship a human and call him God. When its obvious God is beyond that. Thanks for any insight you have.
But none of us are just our flesh bodies. We love and worship Jesus' soul, not His body. Those who love you love your soul, not just your skin and bones. When we worship Jesus, we're not just worshiping the flesh man. We are worshiping His Spirit. His Spirit is, and was, God Almighty.
You must look beyond the flesh. Remember God is a spirit. Those that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. This is a verse and I believe it answers your question perfectly.
One gets into heaven by confessing that Jesus is our lord n saviour he died on the cross for us n rose again. Im a Catholic girl n I hv met with some apostolics they do preach to me too but the only thing they preached was rules do not wear this, this or else God would leave you there wasn't any thing wrong n I respect what they said but the thing they took me away from God it didn't lead me closer to him. I am a Catholic but I read the bible more n pray to him n he helps me in everything but I was told only if I get baptized I can get the holy spirit but that's what I don't believe cause the holy spirit is nth to ask its given to u n that keeps guiding us

The Holy Spirit was also in the Old Testament. But you guys kill me on the prescription for baptism We really should not have to go beyond beyond Matt 28 but you Apostolics skip the great commission. In nearly ever other example of baptism there are different words used than "In the name of Jesus Christ..." Are those baptisms null and void? I don't think so. Also, is Jesus not part of the Trinity and is he not mentioned as the second person of the Trinity in Matt 28? If that is the case isn't that also being baptized in his name? Here's one rarely mentioned: Act 8:12. I am assuming Simon was baptized in Jesus' name or by the Trinitarian formula but it doesn't say. Do we insert words into the Bible? No! What about the Ethiopian Enoch in Acts 8:36-40? No name mentioned there either. Do we imply it was done one way or another? What about the Apostle Paul in Acts 9 17-19? It says the Holy Spirit filled Paul and THEN he was baptized, not before. It also simply says "He got up and was baptized." No mention of in who's name. I mean that is Paul, who wrote half the Bible. Surely if there was a specific formula to follow, it would have been mentioned there. I mean to me it's fine to be baptized in the Trinitarian formula or in Jesus name only because He is being addressed in both ways. Later in Acts 22:16 He says in his own words (being quoted by a scribe of course) as he retells his conversion, "Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling upon HIs name." I can reasonably infer Jesus was who Paul was implying when he says "calling upon His name." But that doesn't say Paul was baptized IN Jesus name the way the Apostalics claim. I mean to base your entire concept of baptism on one reference when the rest don't fit the same formula if a formula is presented at all is a challenge. My point is there doesn't seem to be a universal "they all did it this way" formula. So to condemn people and nullify their baptism because it wasn't announced the way you think they should seems to be a stretch.
I prayed in my head while surviving in jury duty today. I had to be silent while the judge was talking but I also needed to reach out to God so I prayed in my head. I like to believe God heard me. I hope he did

I agree with praying out loud, but the Lord has answered many slient prayers of mines. Praise God, there is something very powerful in praying in slience. It's like the powerful verse in the Bible that says be still & know I am God.
Your analogy only works so far. Extend it and you can see how illogical it is. If God hears mostly spoken words because it is like an infant crying. Then the loudest crier would get attention first just like the loudest baby.. Jesus had criticized loud pray-ers like the Pharisees. So by your analogy God would hear the loud tv pray-ers first as they pray their pharisaical prayers. Just take a listen to the pharisaical prayers they put on a show with at Trump rallies. The blasphemy is so,thick you can cut it with a knife. I don’t believe God hears you more because you are louder. That wasn’t the example he displayed when he instituted the Lord’s Prayer. You seem to be just promoting the type of prayers you like that your church does.
I agree with you. My mom keeps on telling me to pray out loud like her. I don't feel comfortable when she hears my prayers. I believe that prayers should be intimate. Another reason why I don't want to pray out loud is, because the devil can hear our prayers and use them against us whereas if you pray silently he can't. It is sometimes difficult to pray silently, because I get distracted while I pray. Now I ask myself which one is better? I don't want the devil and others to hear my prayers, but I also want to speak freely because it's easier to stay concentrated and I can hear what I'm trying to say.
