Laura, I am in Oregon in the USA and will be visiting Ireland in August with my daughter who doesn't want us to rent and drive a car. She said that the country road is very narrow and uncomfortable to drive, especially on the left side of the road. So, we will be taking day trips from Dublin. Though I really enjoy places away from great big crowds. I have watched many of your video's, and driving a car seems to be the only access to the best ones. Any advice?

My wife (who is Irish) and I spent 2 weeks in Ireland for my first trip. I’m an open book around people and I’m grateful that my wife was with me to keep me from doing/saying anything stupid. We had such a wonderful time and found the people to be some of the friendliest people I’ve ever met. I never, ever felt unwelcome or out of place anywhere I went. It’s funny you should bring up the accent thing, I’m from the south of the US and have a very thick southern accent. I also have a tendency to pick up accents if I spend time around them. I could here myself picking up the accent and I was afraid that I might offend someone, my wife said not to worry about it they have an accent and I have an accent, I just sounded like an Irish hillbilly. 😂

So many things are common sense. As we all know many people have no common sense though. Calling Irish people British is obviously a bad idea. The Irish have fought hard for many, many years to be free of Great Britain! I've heard people say its the same as being in America and calling us British and that couldn't be more wrong. In the US we would just laugh but not be offended. Our fight with the British ended in the early 1800s. Ireland has been fighting for their independence very recently. Basically there has been no one alive in America that fought the British and vice versa for almost two centuries. There are many Irish around today that actually fought for their freedom. I love videos like this. People should take time to get real info about places they are going to visit.

I want to go to Ireland someday. I think it's a beautiful country. I would love to meet the people. I have travelled to Germany and France and loved both countries.

My Dad and I had always wanted to travel to Ireland. I hope we can but will there still be a Ireland for us to visit, (land of our ancestors). Ireland is changing so much and from what I hear, not for the better.

Departing from Dublin, and three friends in tow, l drove most every county in the country, (I’m from Scotland so l was the chosen one), the surprises around every corner were fantastic and beautiful. Met some wonderful and funny locals, danced in the street, sang in the pubs, had some great laughs and amazing food. Oh, and we had good reliable trains and buses, and wonderful accommodations. Our two weeks were filled with fun and our hearts filled with love.

As a half/half, Irish/Flemish😅 i love the Irish slang. It's something I inherited from me mom and she's from Belfast 😂 Still have family living in Ireland and the North, you know what I means. The fact of the matter is, Ireland is so nice if you would travel a hole year you haven't seen it all. Sorry my written English isn't as good as my spoken English 😅 Greetings from Belgium

I’m just back from Ireland. One thing I did that I highly recommend is to take public transportation to get around! I went from Belfast to Cork, Galway to Dublin; all on public transportation! The bus and rail networks and the local buses are all very easy to navigate!

in 2018 i watched their baseball team play in Grossetto, and spoke with a coach. He was very out front and interesting. Said thy have pretty good women's tams, as well as the men who were in italy at that time. To me, the caliber of play was quite decent. We drank chianti and ate pizza......and watched the game. Though i can't remember which country was their opponent.

Really enjoyed your video. Unfortunately, I'm getting on in years so I don't think the wife and I will be able to visit. It is our loss that we didn't make time to visit. It looks so beautiful and I'd really enjoy meeting the people and getting to know it's history. I lived in South Korea for 10 years (U.S. Military) and really got to know the country and people in depth. It was a great experience. But, I wish we could come. Thank you for the video, it was very informative.

I visited the west country in October 2017. Got lucky with the weather. Layer and dress warmly, carry an umbrella and have a good rain jacket, carry a bag to hold your rain gear. Rent a car and give yourself lots of time between places -- the roads are slow going, and you will want to stop often for the views.

American Express charges shops a higher rate than Visa/Mastercard do. I think AmEx charges like 6%, where the others are lower (3-4%). I wouldn't take AmEx if I was a small shop either.

/@Live.Adventure.Travel "making fun of Irish accent"...? never been to Ireland, i know the way the Irish speak only from movies, or internet, but i just love it... so why should i...? "ability to stretch the truth" oh, i'm used to that one... my wife has this ability too... and she's not even Irish... 😋 "swearing" also, used to that... we use curse words as commas... not anything to brag with, but it is how it is... "sarcasm" yup, no probs... "drinking" "a round" also known in my country... taking this (and the two above) into account, are Irish somehow descendants of Polish people...? 🤣
