Thanks for sharing I’m sold on IFR6 What preparation did you do, if any, to prepare for the training prior to attending the training school? What was your greatest IFR training challenge???
@KenLince
@KenLince 4 месяца назад
Hey Rick! This was 4 years ago now - but still remember the experience like yesterday. Yes, you'll come in with hopefully a decent amount of flying already done and you'll spend the 5-6 days there in 'bootcamp' just flying and drilling for the checkride. The IFR6 team works so closely with the DPE's they use that they pretty much know exactly how the ride is going to go down...safe to say, everyone is well prepared for that by the time they head that way. I had my written done, my long XC done and about 10 hours of hood time with my local CFII before I went. My greatest challenge was focusing with that crap on your head - it gave me a horrible headache after 30 minutes or so and needed a rest...the lessons were long during the week and that hood on my head really bothered me. I was lucky to get about 8 hours of actual IMC...including a legit missed approach to minimums at Hilton Head while I was down there. I was lucky that on 3 days of my time there the weather was perfect IFR. The foggy stuff that's not bumpy and hovered from 600-1000' or so - so was really nice to get some actual time while I was training down there.

On this mesh system if your not using the band steering that’s automatically enabled because you need to have seperete SSIDs for 2.4ghz only devices . I read the amplify Configuring SSIDs article and am confused because the router 3 SSIDs available , 1 WiFi 6 5Ghz. 1 WiFi 6 2.4ghz and 1 WiFi 5 5Ghz to be able to enable and in their setting it shows like example of SSID name AMPLIFI-Alien-Routrer-2x or 5x. However the mesh point on that page shows a completely different SSID than any on the router ? All I want is 2 SSIDS one for 2.4ghz only devices like smart plugs , cameras etc, and the 5Ghz network for computer, phone , etc . This is very confusing with Amplify ? So I guess my main big question is CAN THE MESH POINT HAVE THE SAME SSIDS AS THE ROUTER ??

I knew you would go there. However i disagree. If you have a great stereo pair to mic the listening environment and do so properly, you could achieve some great results, which youtube would not make the difference within.! ...Ok yeah "ITS MYERS", so yeah they gonna be great sounding, however it does nothing for illustration as to the purpose of CONTRAST, as to the "WHY" CHOOSE ONE OVER MANY OTHERS, newer and those whom could be cheaper options at that. As for the mic stand and the EAW.... this was not the time nor place for that rant@@KenLince #poeticjustic

@@officialpoa3171 The video is about the RIG not just the speakers - it's even in the title. If you look at other videos on my channel I have similar ones as I have gone through several iterations...what I'm using now is even different as I've sold the UPA's to save my back (they are 80lbs each). I personally have never heard a PA video on youtube that has influenced me one way or the other - and I don't have the studio mics available to me to do such a recording. After watching some of your videos, I can see that you are an expert in sound and sound production LOL. I'm sorry you were so disappointed with a free video.

Currently l am running stereo to the house and on the monitor out l run to a Seymour Duncan powerstage power amp. I come out of the powerstage to 2 2x12’s or 2 4 x12’s. I cut off the effects so it’s a dry signal for stage volume. So my question, l think you said l can equally at the same time use my mains XLR outs and the mains 1/4 inch outs? If so, can l make the 1/4 inch outs dry and let my huge delays and reverbs just go to the house. I currently like my setup and have used it a couple years now. Can you recommend any other options?

Did u replace the mackie w the AH? Did u get rid of ur Pa2 n ur lexicon effects processor? U dont use the tablet anymore?. I too like faders to set everything up. But wheni go 2 the front. @KenLince Год назад
I've got a completely new live rig now. Probably time for a new video. I'm using a Midas MR-18 mixer with my Kemper racked up. I'm using the Meyer's for band gig's and my EAW Redline's more for either monitors on those band gigs or for FOH on my acoustic gigs. They just work better without subs. As much as I love the Meyer's - they just need subs for really anything other than say, spoken voice.

@KenLince
@KenLince Год назад
@@elitsantiago4263 I was really just refining my rig down to the best size and features...with my current setup, it's probably the longest I've had the same stuff that I've been taking out for years now. I went from the AH to the Midas because of space. The MR-18 is rack mountable - the AH I was using was more of a traditional desk with faders format and while you could rack it - it was heavy and took up a lot of space. The downside with the MR-18 is that there are no faders...everything is controlled via ipad so if you have a wifi issue or ipad issue you can't control anything anymore. Fortunately that's never happened - I bought a better wifi access point and bring multiple ipads to gigs so that's really been a non-issue. There weren't a bunch of features of the Midas that I thought were better than the AH - it was mostly form factor...and of course finding something that had at least a similar feature set. That said, I'm very happy with the Midas console. The pre's are incredible, as are the built in FX. The app is great and easy to use and overall just a great setup.

@elitsantiago4263 Год назад
@Ken Lince how about the pa2?. I noticed u like the sine wave over pink noise feature n the fact that it was also mobile (vontrolled via the app). There is an acillator built into the midas though. Where r u located? Iam in Boise. Man if u were here, u could come out n try out the UPJs, Junior, melodies n minas. The usm-1p, 600hps, 500hps n 750s. I dont like pushing heavy stuff n i like to travel light. The flow has even built in bluetooth connectivity. N u r 100% accurate. Only bink burns post small sets up meyer. Everything feature everwhere r only big deployments. Also, all ur chopping n dicing u do it at the board correct, no DSP if u r not using the PA2. I had a guy look up the specs on the meyer stuff n manually loaded it into his drive rack.

@@elitsantiago4263 I really dont use the Driverack anymore. Just don't need it. I'm either doing acoustic gigs where I use EAW tops only no subs or my Meyer rig where the subs have x-over's built into them. I kept it to use it just in case I do ever need it - but at this point it just sits on a shelf. I'm in Austin, TX. The pink noise function was in the Driverack - i don't have that capability without it but I've been doing this for so long that truthfully I don't need it. And the pink noise thing is so obtrusive that I just quit using it anyway. If you're setting up a PA in a room and shoot it at 100db of pink noise 5 or 6 times...you're gonna have a lot of annoyed people. :)
