On this channel we cover the past, present and future of Anti Gravity racing and futuristic racing. You will find reviews, news, gameplay and analysis of games like WipeOut, Redout, F-Zero, Flashout, Warp Drive and Pacer among others.

This channel is, thanks to all the support from my viewers, part of the RU-vid Partner Program. Everything I earn through Supers, memeberships and add revenue will go towards buying racing games to review and showcase and I'm also saving up for a more powerful PC setup so that I'm able to play even more games.

on the A+ challenges, the speed ships are basically the only ones where its doable for a normal players, taking the AG-sys makes it significantly easier too. its very twitchy and hard to control at first, but just like Erik, you can master it and become SO much faster.

Where are all the actual good players? The ones who play every night? Your tournaments are filled with 'Speed Lap Racers' and 'Rinse and Repeat' players. Nothing special to see here. I've beaten everybody in your video so many times ive lost count and so has every other decent player. The best players are not the ones "Rinsing and Repeating".

Were there any developers from Wipeout that helped bringing this racing game to life? It's soo similar to Wipeout

Allegedly, former Psygnosis employees started the kickstarter campaign but it's unclear how many that were still around when the game finally released. From a visual standpoint, it does look a lot like Wipeout. As far as AG racing games goes, Pacer and Wipeout plays a bit differently though.

I constantly hear top Wipeout players say that the Fury ships don't make the HD ships obsolete yet everything I see on the stat sheet, tier lists, and even in game says otherwise. They do feel subtly different, but really if you're playing to set good times or win races I really don't see a reason to pick HD ships over Fury ships, which is a shame because I think most of the Fury ships don't look as cool. Most of them look like black frames with thin panels layered over them. The bodywork on the HD ships are just better (except for EG-X, Auricom, and Mirage, I think their Fury ships look better).
@AGRacingCentral
@AGRacingCentral 17 дней назад
I agree with you about the ship design regarding the Fury ships. They look cool overall but also not as "clean" as the HD ships. And I know what you're talking about regarding the performance difference too. The only options really are that the stats in the spread sheet are innaccurate and there are more stuff going on under the hood but it's also possible that we are fooled by other things when playing the Fury ships. With that I mean camera angle, movement graphics, size of the 3D-model and so on that fool us into thinking they handle different than they actually do. Perhaps we'll never get this question answered :)

49:25 FYI: I've left the link to a google doc sheet on the Redout 2 Discourse server that contains direct links to all the races that Tairach's “Let's Play” (7 - 10 links per video) has covered. I've found it a lot easier to “grind for stars” by watching the race (or one that is related) and noting the hyperboost patterns first in order to make up for the lack of memorization. That said I haven't found the career (campaign) itself conducive to track memorization. The last three SRRL Invitational events contain boss races (for 3 laps) for each of the 9 locations (Mount Fuji, Old Cairo, Mars Memorial, Tartarus Mines, Cloud Ocean, Mariana Trench, Neo Tokyo, Genesis, Origin Black Hole); e.g. the Tartarus Mines race last for 16-18 minutes. At this point track memorization becomes absolutely essential. I found the best way to approach that is to go into Arcade's Training mode and grind the component tracks with your current build of choice (from the garage) to improve your track times. The necessary repetition that happens there to just get a little bit faster/better on each subsequent lap (you get infinite rewinds so you can focus on problem areas like jumps and skill cuts) ultimately takes care of the memorization problem.
@AGRacingCentral
@AGRacingCentral 17 дней назад
That's a lot of good tips, thanks a lot! Even though I like a challenge, I am not looking forward to the SSRL boss races you mentioned :)

@@AGRacingCentral When initially trying to complete the B41 Class A Promotion Contest event I absolutely dreaded the Tartarus Mines tracks-low power craft aren't exactly suited to it-but the mega jump in Ixion and the skill cut in Tantalus are key opportunities to get ahead of Ibrahim/Songg/Zhang. I'm still struggling to reliably detach for the Tantalus skill cut but recently something changed on the Ixion mega-jump. After the initial aim for the landing ramp, I now tap-rotate to the left to align the bottom of the craft with the ramp so that the final adjustment is a (at times significant sideways) strafe towards the ramp which usually ends with the craft “slotting” into place-trying to air-steer onto the landing ramp always got me into trouble. Taking a craft of (only) average durability into Tartarus Mines also exposes Redout 2's mechanics a bit more. Rather than racing, you're guiding a rocket sled while balancing: • Hull reserve for heat sections (and speed to minimize time within the heat sections) • Hull reserve for sections that maximize return of stacked hyperboost (with or without available boost reserve) • Use of hyperboost cancel to optimize hyperboost and hull reserve utilization. • Matching risk tolerance to level of hull reserve; i.e. minimizing the time needed for the hull to regenerate by adapting driving to skill-level (i.e. not bumping into things or neglecting correct pitch which will disrupt/prolong regeneration) with the goal of maximizing hull reserve availability. “Strafe more, steer less” really pays off here because drifting confidently through the curves should let you maintain a higher average speed during the hull regeneration intervals. Welcome to cockpit resource management. I find Mariana Trench's Nuliajuk very Tartarus-esc exacerbated by requiring much greater roll angles on the jumps-there is no way around Nuliajuk in a boss race. Cloud Ocean's Mistral skill cut requires a 180 deg roll-at which point you may as well also use a 180 deg roll on the mega drop/jump. Finally Ixion's mega-jump trains you for Aura's skip jump and accessing the optimal ramp on Aura's pick one-of-five jump. You would be doing yourself a disservice by avoiding the Tartarus Mines tracks. Right now I find the Origin Event Horizon Boss track more difficult than Tartarus Mines. I haven't used Terror Rupes enough (superficially a hybrid of Tartarus Mines (heat, lava), Cloud Ocean (long jumps, low visibility hazards), Genesis (low gravity, ice, non-track sections)) to judge.

@DARamosYT
@DARamosYT 19 дней назад
I think the best scenario is having a green screen to minimize screen coverage. There's usually some ui element in the game that gets overlayed with this setup. But the bottom right tends to have the least important elements during a race. But a green screen is a bit much for casual streaming.

I'm not exactly sure if the PS5 has an option for removing the background when streaming but it's worth checking out.
