My goal is to help the average person learn more about astrophotography, without making it overly complicated. We'll cover Milky Way, Star Trails, and Deep Space. Along the way we'll use some different gear, depending on your budget, all with the main idea - "make life easier".

Thanks for the video, filters are difficult to work with because their so over priced, and you just want to get that perfect one.

And with the development of the DBextract process in PI the game has changed just a bit for us OSC imagers. The ability to shoot dual band filters (Ha/O3 and S2/O3) and then extract mono images of Ha, 03 and S2 is amazing. Granted they don't have the same level of detail and data of the natively shot mono versions but I find them a wonderful compromise.

Interesting but at the end it looks like with a filter you show the same subject but in a different light... Without massing in PP with colour balance. How that look in monochrome? It good be more interesting view cause it will not highlight so much in colourcast but on details in nebula.

I use the EOS clip in L enhance for my stock Canon T7 and it produces great results. Would be way better if it were astro modified. Still get good results though

I love that you did 5 edits then decided #4 was your favorite and you went back and touched up #4. I don't think enough people talk about this part of the editing. I also typically have 5-6 edits before I'm happy. Well done tutorial. Thanks Peter!

Awesome tutorial! Small tip: to save a little bit of time, you can use the directory option. It will select lights/darks/bias/flats automatically by detecting the type from the Asiair folders.

Cool video but Randall Carlson has been debunked with his ice theory! Live and lived in most of the areas your talking about in Canada! There is ZERO evidence that there was a impact in Prince George!! British Columbia alone has 3 grand canyons and not just 1 like America!! Canada never mind just British Columbia has thousands a pond thousands of lakes with no creeks or rivers going in or out of them and yet all these lakes have fish in them? 3-5 miles of ice would crush said fish!!! So how the fish get there?? Tumbler ridge bc has dinosaur tracks beside there river that you can swim in? How that happen if under ice after the the dinosaurs are extinct is covering that2?? Sikanni chief river in the 1990s had a fish the size of 4school buses inbeded in the canyon removed by national geographic!! How that get there again if there's 3-5 miles of ice on top of it??? British Columbia rockie mountains is the south have shells the size of cars, how they get there if 3-5miles of ice sitting on top of them again??? **answer is... not ice but continental movement plane and simple!!**

I have a old Dell Inspiron desktop more than 10 years old and I think it did not accept PI trial installation. That is what keeps from advancing in Processing. You have to buy a many thousands dollar/pound or a good second hand PC. Discussing specs of PC for PI would be helping

This update has been bad for me. I traveled over an hour from home and suddenly got the update and it forces it. Updated and then I could not guide or connect to my mount. I am/was using an Star Adventurer 2i pro and every time I would start to guide over ST4 it would give me a "Cannot connect to mount" error. As well, on the guiding screen it would not select or circle any stars. I had to manually select a star and begin guiding but then it would not actually move the mount and the star would slip out of the box. I also had major problems polar aligning, I would get down to less then 1' and when I polar aligned again I would be more than 2* out. I ended up going back home and figuring out how to downgrade my firmware the next day... Quite frustrating.

I’m confused, what about adding calibration frames? Do you need to do flats and darks right after each panel is taken?
@iamSAKhan
@iamSAKhan 2 дня назад
I believe that the calibration frames are not required for every picture in a mosaic. For multi-night photographing, you may need to take flats and bias frames at the conclusion of every night.

Drumlins are not caused by Ice. I have found them all over the Earth. They are caused by fast flowing water. I can show you identical ones in Australia, Asia, and Africa.

I have seen a lot of glaciers, but not once have I seen boulders and rocks inside the ice. There are always under it. I think the glaciers formed after the flood, and apart from glacial moraines, have had little impact on the landscape. Ice tends to stay where it is.
@Willy_Tepes

The glacial coverage of Canada does not explain why much of it is covered by wave ripples.

A meteorite impact in the Greenland Ice sheet would eject trillions of tons of ice crystals into the atmosphere over the northern part of the globe. This would block out the sun and rapidly cool the air for many years. You can find the traces of this flood on the elevation maps you mention. You can trace it all the way back to Baffin Island in Canada. There are some very interesting mixing currents visible in northern Canada. I on my side of the Atlantic can do the same with Lidar images of Scandinavia (1 and 2 meter resolution helps a lot). These floods continue over whole countries and continents.

Peter, I am awaiting my scope, mount and camera, but will be beginning to shoot shortly. I am also in the Seattle area (in fact, I live on the eastern side of Seattle where, to the East, Lake Wa forms a hole in the LP bubble, making my yard mostly Bortle 7 (sometimes 6). I am struggling with how to decide which, if any, broadband and narrow band filters to use in western WA on my ff107 and asi2600 air. I would love to get your recommendations! I think I will start to learn without filters, to get a baseline. Hope to get to E. Wa in the spring. Do you have any favorite spots there? I am wasting a lot of time searching google maps. I have a bud with land on the Waterville plateau and will see if I can go there. Love your channel, and have learned a lot. Thanks.

There are Ancient Crystal Pilons beneath the surface of the Planet in strategic locations. Some were destroyed some still remain. They are used for a couple of things. One possible use is Weather Control. During War and various Secret Agendas one side crashed the Grids under Wales Scotland Ireland to freeze out The Maji Grail Kings dug in up there. It worked but the unfortunate result was a few icing events within the last 25000 years. It's funny how no one is interested in investigating the pilon networks. I bet it would be impossible to get funding. There were several flooding freezing cycles.

I know I am late to the party but, I just purchased a RedCat 51 and it fits nicely on the SkyGuider. However I am not sure if I can also use ball head with declination bracket with the Redcat. I see with the wide angle lens and DSLR it works nicely to make it easier to move camera. Didn't see that mentioned or discussed using RedCat. Without a ball mount with the RedCat on the declination mount pretty hard to move camera around without messing with polar alignment.

When I call up the “CreateHDRImage” tool, it brings up version 1.11, which looks different than version 1.8 that you demonstrate. I double and triple checked the resources folder and they all seem to match. Maybe I need to uninstall and reinstall them, but I am in the middle of working on my first set of stacked images and don’t want to loose them. 1.11 still has the Layers and Blend section, but it does not have the ‘protect colors’ check box, but has a whole bunch of other stuff. When I apply it, it just generates a black image. Can you help me understand what’s going on?

I am preparing for the total solar eclipse which will be visible in Sydney during July, 2028. I am not new to using a DSLR but I am new to using a sky tracker. I am planing to buy two identical models. One for a Canon 5D MK IV and the other for a Canon R5 MK II (mirrorless). Since I will be using large heavy lenses, a 100 to 400 mm EF lens on the 5D MK IV and a 100 to 500 mm RF lens on the R5 MK II, I have decided to go with the Sky Watcher Star Adventurer with the Sky Guider Pro being my runner up choice. I have found a package with the Sky Watcher Star Adventuer which includes the declination bracket. It sells for about the same as the Skyguider Pro. Again, I am going to be using the Sky Watcher Star Adventurer to capture a total solar eclipse using telephoto lenses. While the event is over 3 1/2 years away, I know the importance of practice. I want to get an early start.

Maybe these characaturizations of people are artistic renditions? Like Picaso's portraits are not regular looking people. This artwork represents a tiny fraction of what they were doing with art back then. Its just that the most durable pieces are the only ones that survived. These could represent spirits or legends in their folklore. Like Europeans painting devils or angels. That, I believe us more likel6 than aliens.

Nice. I had an auto upload going last night. It turned out that when going to a target, it found it, confirmed it, both the blue and and red box right on where it should be. Then... when clicking sync to mount, the blue box moved away from the already confirmed target position. Just like "half a box" away, but stilll... annoying because it leaves you wondering if it shoots right during the night. Last night i did 30, 10 minute shots of the Sadr region, and I will now check to see if something happened during the session,. I''ll revert.
