peter you are the man, this is exactly what i was looking for. I was afraid i would have to align them all manually, glad you showed the pix tool to do it for you
I don't have Photoshop. Have you ever used PIPP? It would be great if you could do a video using PIPP. I will go back and use PI for the alignment and de-bayering as I used ASI Studio to create the individual JPG and FITS images from my individually stacked 720 x 10 second .AVI videos. I used PIPP to do the centering. It did an ok job, but as the Moon moved across the face of the Sun PIPP moved the whole image to center it. So if I center everything in PI and then turn off that setting in PIPP hopefully I will be in good shape. :) Great video BTW especially the use of PI for pre-processing.
Very good tutorial, Peter. I was lucky when I went to Wyoming in 2017 and captured the eclipse. My equipment was pretty rudimentary, but using the manually align each layer in Photoshop method that you show, I was able to get a somewhat decent video. Be sure to enable sound when you watch this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-J-0LnAITYlY.html
You gave zero details on your set up, your settings or equipment. Seems like you started the video half way through. I would hardly call this a tutorial
This isn't a DSO image. We don't need to know all the focal length, f-ratio, and other details for this. You can see the camera and settings he used at the very beginning in the file names. Even that is unnecessary though. This is most definitely not a tutorial aimed for absolute beginners. I'm an advanced astrophotographer who is just now delving into timelapses and it answered almost every question I had. The rest I can find answers for myself. This IS a tutorial and a pretty good one at that.
