I am no guru, I am just like you, experiencing the same challenges and dealing with the same practicalities of life, they may look different to yours, but we are all on the path together. My intention is to share what I am learning as I grow, and If it can help you, I am grateful for that.
By learning to let go of the stories we tell ourselves about what we need to do to achieve happiness, love, success, peace or freedom, we can awaken to the realization that everything we could ever want is already right here now. And it is from this place of clarity that divine inspiration flows and from where we can begin to express our purpose and fully live.
I love this mindset - so often people let things beyond their control consume themselves and it just causes an effect to spiral out of control. If they just take a moment to let it go and evaluate the situation things will generally work out. ( In your case it worked out even better than planned ! ) But with a good South African attitude - Boer Mak a plan !
A few years back, i said 'i want to be happy' and i was told 'close your eyes, breath for a minute, this is happy!' I honestly feel that what we are after is connection. There is something so satisfying about being seen by another and to feel understood. Freedom ... with that state comes huge responsibity. Peace and joy, well i went to church believing i could ginf that there. What freedom when i found it within. Then came the responsibility.... Love, not a feeling. It's a verb. A doing word.
The work required to stay present is similar to starting a new hobby. Perservance is another requirement. The more we practise, the easier it becomes. Being kind to ourselves is helpful too because there will be failures. Breaking old habits is not easy. Forming new pathways isn't either. It takes courage, and thats another story.
Great video - sadly in this day and age people have become cheap - just like products, everything is a bit throw away now :-( the gold moment has passed for many things and that care for each other has past and it makes it so easy for people to feel their worth has gone too as too many people have lowered their own self worth and its become acceptable. You see content creators complaining about people doing things for "free" and then the expectation is they all should do it for "free" - the self worth of a person has become much the same as so many others have accepted so much less from others that it has become acceptable and this is a strain on people's physical and mental health when they give 150% and get little back in return as others just don't care about how their actions impact on others.
Some good points you make, and the sad part of how people have gotten sucked into this culture. When one drops one’s own standards of what is acceptable and reflective of their self-worth, this is a form of prostitution.
So we change the mindset, change the channel. Lack or scarcity outlook needs shifting to abundance thinking. We are enough. So much of my upbringing was indeed 'you want more, you must do more'. Thanks Gavin, great reminder to allow oneself to simply enjoy.
Mandy, it’s not so much about shifting our thinking, because thinking is what gets in the way of our natural state of abundance, because thinking emerges in the mind. It is about letting go of the thinking that we are not abundant already.
there is nothing wrong with what is going on...this is deep and profound i think it is a spiritual saying to those who have ears ;Romans 9:22-28 In the same way, even though God has the right to show his anger and his power, he is very patient with those on whom his anger falls, who are destined for destruction.
Right and wrong are just mind concepts. Life is not right or wrong it is just life. Life is unfolding perfectly for you, because the purpose of life is to grow, so everything in your life is serving you because it is showing you where you are not free.
