Go to search tearstone eclipse. Go to the site and there are .pdf manuals there for the 6 and 4 cyl engine of 3g eclipse which is also a 4g64. Thatsbwhere i looked to see
Good vid man just a bit of advice tho never break bolts free with your torque wrench it throws the calibration off just a bit of advice Ik those torque wrenches are usually pretty damn expensive but good vid Man thanks
Thanks, this was one of my first vids. I have an evo X now and yes i dont use my torque wrench to break the bolts.I have learned better now. Thanks for the advice and comment
Funny how I had to come see a sohc Mitsubishi Galant valve cover removal video to do the same on my 04 2dr Chrysler Sebring. Even my Haynes manual don't show the sohc in detail, everything else BUT this engine lol.
Hi can you send me the documents what you print by email plz I gonna replace my 03 galant head gaskets water and oil mixed coz car was over heating plz if any suggestions for me just let me know anything plz my email address pdanand16@gmail.com
my 94 galant with sohc has a oil leak, (front passenger corner of rocket cover and has slight oil in plugs 4 and 3 (passenger side), starter hates me, and there is a plug on front side of trans that is caked in oil
Sorry I can't add picture. Remove the trim piece That is wood grain. Then you can see the four screws. Unscrew it and the onl thing held in is the bulb. Turn it left and it should come out, it will be a small bulb with a blue cap on it.
On the actual cover do you need to put any RVT into the grove or just the gasket? I have swapped the gasket many times and get the damn leak again. Great info tho, i didn’t know about the RVT on the top of the tube seals
i got a dumb question i change my gasket just like in the video but she is still leaking around the gasket is there in thing i can put around the gasket to help close it from leaking?????
Cori Walker is it coming from spark plug area on top or around the edge of the whole thing? I haven't used them but someone makes a traditional type gasket that I light blue. I am not sure of the brand.
I honestly can't remember I think you don't have to though unless you are doing a fuel rail upgrade. I think I had to because I got just the intake with no fuel rail so I put my stock 4g64 one on the outlander intake
Hello i have a 2004 Mitsubishi galant es 2.4 the size of the bolt he used to remove the rotor is M8-1.25 X30mm Get them at lowe,s home improvement..they come in a white bag about 1.40...or just take 1 bolt out from the timing belt cover take it to parts store or home depot match it up and make sure you spray some pb blaster around the hub and old rotor that's all you will need to remove rusted rotors..
The Dawgz it sucks the trim over the radio pulls straight out and there are four spring clips that hold it on place. a plastic pry tool would be the best, as anything stronger might break the plastic those clips are connected to
Allan Rimban hope it was helpful, if u want manuals I would check forums or check out alldatadiy.com you can sign up for a subscription for about 25 dollars for 5 years of use
I have a 4g15 and I think these engines are quite similar...now I am confused about one thing, does the manual state we need to put in some permatex rtv? if yes which RTV exactly, locally where I am the following RTV are available: 7mart.pk/?s=rtv&post_type=product , could you guide me exactly which one to use? Also how much and how to apply it, would really appreciate your guidance.
You should do a video showing how to take off the armrest thing on the door. I try to unscrew the screw in the change holder but it wont come out. I cant seem to get the angle on it
will, so I know it's acres all around the edges you have to pop the plastic caps that go on them, then it's a screw by the handle and one down in the little black cup area
+Arian Jones everything I show will work fir 2003 galant. I was referring to using the bolt in one of the holes o your rotor to break it free if it gets seized.

Nice video, brother. Very well spoken. I didn't even notice the music. I'm doing this same job tomorrow morning and I'm just checking to make sure I'm not forgetting anything. So.. thanks for the post. Never mind these knuckleheads complaining about the music. I swear people these days will always find something to complain about and some reason to put some one down.. it's disgusting. Keep up the good work, dude!
it should be able to come off. obviously make sure the accelerator cable and stuff is taken off and any harnesses are out of the way. but if it's sticking tough I would use a Plastic paint scraper to get it started try not to poke at the gasket but find a spot to push the scraper in enough to pry an opening you don't want to warp the cover or push gasket pieces into the engine
also the gasket for my valve cover git into a groove in the valve cover and I can't for the life of me remove them. I tried gasket remover and a couple other suggestions. I'm trying not to damage the cover
I think I tried that. It was on of those flat spatula looking things you get with the drywall repair compound. Is it possible it's just locked in there and won't come out?
thanks for the quick response! did you see my second question? I'm about to put a flat head screw driver or something to my valve cover gasket. It is hardened inside the groove of the cover
+Ryan Ricketts yes I did use luke a plastic paint scraper instead u don't want to use anything harder than the valve cover it will gouge and never seal quite right.
Ryan Ricketts i used a torch n flat screwdriver to heat the metal under the gasket n pried it out with the screwdriver.. came out nice n clean tht way before i tried everything n i was thinkin i was gna have to get a new cover cuz it wuldnt come out then i found tht method lol!
I'm glad for RU-vid , but people like you that actually takes the time to load it up and with great explanations. Thank you!! And about them dogs, hey great background noise. Lol. Thanks again.
Sorry to get back to you so late. I have no clue how that could happen. perhaps piece of old gasket or other foreign material fell into a coolant passage and blocked flow. but the I have never heard of that happening. I would be interested to know what you found out.
Turn the finking music down, or better yet, turn it OFF completely! I hear the narrator mumbling, that's it. I'm hear to replace my brakes not go to a Miles Davis show!
The music in this video is very distracting. I can't hear most of what you are saying. But this was helpful enough that I changed my rotors on my 2009 galant myself. Thank you
Really you just need a few things. Socket set that can fit 17 mm deep socket for lugs. for screw that hold on the caliper i believe its 14 mm. then likely the two most important things are a C-clamp, which a 5 inch one should be good I think. and like a small piece of wood that can lay across the caliper boot so you can use the c clamp to push the brake piston back in without worrying about damaging the boot. Basically the wood lays in there like a brake pad. then of course the usual like jack, jack stands and a block of wood or something to block one of the rear tires.
One thing to keep in mind, dude.....NEVER use your torque wrench to loosen bolts or nuts!!! Torque wrenches are precision tools that need to be accurate and to stay accurate you must not use them for the common task of loosening bolts and nuts. You will lose that accuracy. Use a regular box or ratchet wrench for that task. Tongue wrenches have an ability to tighten in two directions so that you can torque down bolts that are "reverse" threaded.
