Hi, we're Chris and Sharon and we love getting out and about. We are certainly not experts when it comes to walking, but we love to grab a map and a walking route and try our best to get from A to B; but we often go via C & D as well! But hey, life's a journey, not a destination, so we take everything in our stride and try to have fun, every step of the way. We also love all sorts of holidays; from Caravans to Cruises, 'Disney World' to 'Round the World'. We have lots of plans and hope you will join us along the way.
Lovely video thank you! Quarr Abbey is of family interest to me as one of my ancestors (i believe great grandfather was a bricklayer when they built the "new" Abbey (1912 approx). Very brave to include the highly controversial floating bridge (always called the chain ferry in my family!)
Oh wow, you must be really proud of your grandfather, as Quarr Abbey is such a beautiful building. As for the chain ferry, we thought we'd take the opportunity to film it whilst we could. Infact I think it broke down very soon after our crossing and we took the small boat for the rest of our stay! Thanks for watching and for your kind comments. All the best, Chris and Sharon.
The house in your thumbnail (also shown at time 0.49) used to be a mill operated by the tide. My younger brother and I explored inside before it was converted, ( got in by the large hole by the waterwheel, probably around 1956 ish.) We lived in St Helens starting around the time the golf couse on the Duver shut and became National trust property, lovely place to grow up but you can NEVER GO BACK AND EXPECT THE SAME.
Hi John, many thanks for the information about the old mill. Always nice to learn more about the buildings and locations that we pass by, and often take for granted. We're particularly pleased that it helped to bring back some of those boyhood memories...! Best wishes, Chris and Sharon
Very nice video! Headed off on a similar cruise on Viking next month so very interested in the itinerary. Would love to try Silverseas in the future, it looked lovely! I’ve subscribed 😊
Hi Kathy, thanks for your kind comment and thanks for subscribing. We've not done Viking, but it's on our list! Hope you have a lovely time. All the best, Chris and Sharon
Lovely video enjoyed watching it.. I just luv silversea and have enjoyed over 100 plus days with them ..( have done over 60 cruises with many of the mainstream lines ) but would never go back now having experienced silversea... Once again enjoyed watching... happy crusing 🥂
Hi Patricia, thank you very much for your nice comments, and glad you enjoyed our video. We completely understand why you keep going back to Silversea. We have already booked another one! Many thanks, Chris and Sharon
Hi Adit, thanks for your question. According to official sources, the temperature averages between 46F (8C) and 54F (12C) however when we visited we encountered hotter and colder temperatures as we travelled around the country. Therefore my advice would be to be prepared for all weather! Hope that helps.
