There's also a marking on the blade and corresponding location.

A definite keeper for inevitable future reference. Excellent detailed comments. I’m off to replace my DJI screw driver!

Is it a J00 or a J000... I saw a ref to J000 elsewhere

Thanks for the heads up! "J00" is not among the driver bits in my 110-piece kit and I don't wish to buy any more screwdrivers. I own a Mini 4 Pro and just now was able to confirm that the common "1.0" flat bit works just fine on my propeller screws. I am able to apply more than sufficient torque in either direction without a trace of damage to the heads. Hope this helps someone.

I saw this vid last week, and ordered the Ifixit Mako as well. Just received it today, an excellent quality piece of kit.

Pretty sure the props have narks on them to determine where they go on DJI Mini anyway..no?

Turn the drone sideways to install screws. Then they will not fall into motor

Why do these screws strip so easily? Is there a more robust replacement option for the screw itself, i.e., just something of higher quality?

Pretty good video. Next time you should condense it in about two minutes. You’d probably get a ton more views.

I only tried to use the screwdriver (about 6.3 seconds!) provided ONCE! My hands are too big for those tiny handled ‘tools’! So, IMMEDIATELY I went to my own tools and got a larger handled that’s proper, fits my hand and has the proper J000 that works just great! Also have 12-16 spare pairs of all blades that all come with new screws. Fortunately with better skilled flying, have had few needs to replace but a few. Thanks for the post!

Hi, where did you get those antenna extenders please, I'd really like to get some?
@DroneMonkey
@DroneMonkey 10 месяцев назад
They aren’t antenna extenders… I modified my RC, removing the internal (low-gain) plate antennas and replacing them with SMA external antenna ports, onto which are screwed a pair of 16dBi high-gain antennas, increasing my signal quality and reliability considerably. Of course, this modification does void the warranty.

i’ve never stripped the jdi screws using their screwdriver. loctite is a brand name and that is not what dji uses.
@DroneMonkey
@DroneMonkey Год назад
Not everyone will strip the screws using the incorrect screwdriver, but a great many have and continue to. I do also clarify "thread lock" whenever I mention "LocTite" (which I know is a brand, and yes I doubt DJI would use it because they have cheaper alternatives available)

Thank you for all the good tips , really helpful if you attach the link for those screwdriver set . I got those same issues with those screw heads & what dji came up with unimpressive screw driver choice for pilot.
