It's no secret that the screwdriver that #DJI includes with the #Mini #Drones is not ideal for the propeller screws of the Mini, Mini 2, Mini 3, Mini 3 Pro, Mini SE, or Mini 2 SE drones.
Using the DJI-provided screwdriver CAN cause considerable damage to your drone... for the simple reason that it is the wrong type of screwdriver for the screws DJI use on your drone's propellers!

CLARIFICATION: This video is NOT an attack on DJI or their drones. We at DroneMonkey use DJI drones extensively for our work on a daily basis, with very few complaints.
A few apologies:
- The audio in this video is a little messy, primarily due to considerable background noise from the Atlantic Ocean hitting the rocks, and a loud outdoor speaker playing music at a nearby cocktail bar
- The camera work is a little shaky. This video was filmed with a mobile phone by my fiance (not a professional or even enthusiastic camera operator 😅)
- The video was not entirely planned! It was shot opportunistically at a moment where I needed to replace the propeller blades on my Mini 3 Pro for location shooting.
Key points/tips:
- Correct Screwdriver Type = JIS 00 (also known as J00)
- Always use NEW Screws when changing propeller blades. NEVER reuse the old Screws.
- Use a cotton towel over your working area when changing propellers to prevent screws from rolling away.
- It is typically necessary to recalibrate the Compass and/or IMU after changing propellers (especially if replacing multiple propellers following an impact of any kind)
- If you crash your drone (or, like mine, a roid-raged seagull knocks it out of the sky) replace ALL of your propellers, not just those with OBVIOUS damage.
