I have the same bike. My bike is reading 15.60 when the bike is on. And by the end of the night of riding my battery wants to die and doesn’t start at all after I’ve rode it all day.

The more I watch this video the more you are mistaken. The Goldwing is not a cruiser. It forces my knees to remain bent in one position only. With floor board and cruiser forward control i can move my legs. I just cross the country on my Yamaha V-star 1300 two up and loved it. I am ready to do it again. I am also currently looking at a FLHTCU Ultra Classic to add to my stable. And by the way I also have BMW C650gt "scooter" which will outperform 50% of all motorcycle out there in all categories, the best two wheeler for around town and beyond. You need to compare bike in the same category. Do they do what they were made to do yes or no. You may not like the bike at all, but it does what it was design for very well. On the other hand the only rides that have made fun of my 30+ bikes in 45+ years of riding, ridiculed, mocked, taunt, teased, and etc., etc. have been Harley Riders.
@siciliano91014
@siciliano91014 20 дней назад
In 2007 there is/was he Yamaha Royal Star Venture. It was the same weight as the Harley but 3.1 inches longer wheelbase. The Yamaha V-Star 1300 Deluxe wheel base 2.5 inches longer. The Kawasaki 800 Vulcan Classic 1 inch longer wheelbase. Those are the ones I remember. I am sure there a BMW, Polaris model and others which will give it run on the size and weight. You need to do your homework before making those statements. You may say your personal feel of the bike, but your statistic need to be correct otherwise you loose credibility. Lastly does the bike does what is made for? Does it pretend to be something it is not?

I’m a bit late to this post but thought I’d share my impression after hiring a VN900 Classic for the day. Back home I ride a Suzuki M1800R weighing nearly 800lbs, so when I spotted this on a motorcycle rental forecourt during a trip to Latvia I figured this would be an easy safe option to experience unfamiliar roads in a foreign country for the first time. I was right. The low seat and the narrower width made it so easy for me to flatfoot it at the lights, the controls are simple, the seat is comfortable and the bike pulls along at motorway speeds with no effort. The 21” front wheel is a nice touch that makes it stand out in a crowd. A reassuring, relaxed, un-demanding. ride that allows you to enjoy what’s going on around you with confidence.

How are the Back Brakes?...I have this Bike and I can't Skid my Back wheel...Maybe because of ABS I'm not sure...But my Back Brakes are Weak...Like for Slow Stops and Turns or Stopping Uphill it's Good but I can't get a Hard back brake stopage it just slows down...My Front Brakes are Strong thou...So how was your Rear Brake with Hard stops with Rear Brake alone?...
@Makswerks1
@Makswerks1 Месяц назад
The ABS is combined - so front and rear. Sounds like you either have a lot of moisture in your brake fluid or you have an air bubble. You should have no issue engaging the ABS with just the rear. I would start with a full brake flush and see what changes.
@thegreatmindsmarathon
@thegreatmindsmarathon Месяц назад
@Makswerks1 Heey and My Back Brakes Foot Pendel is strong not really Spongy...It just stops slow...If I slam the Rear Foot Pedal alone at like 40km it just slows down...If I use both than it stops Quick...My 125R I slam the Rear Brake my Rear it Locks the Tire and it Slides but it doesn't have ABS...I wondering if my Back Wheel ever gonna Slide or having ABS isn't going to make it Slide because ABS is made Supposed to not make your Wheel Lock up...
@Makswerks1
@Makswerks1 Месяц назад
@@thegreatmindsmarathon It wont slide or lock up, but you will feel the pulse of the ABS. If you are not getting ABS activation i wonder if there is an issue with the pump or electronics.

They are basically a Harley Softail with half the engine. And half the engine is plenty of engine. That 900 will get you killed just as easily as anything else if you don’t have good self control, discipline, and situational awareness.

From my research about this particular bike, it’s actually well designed and solid build quality. It doesn’t do very much outstanding but instead is one of the best universal bikes that does everything you need to do pretty good and a little above standard while being very dependable.

My thing has always been price vs performance with some accessories that either subtract or add depending on what it has. Needless to say I’ve owned a lot of metric motorcycles. At least until I ran into Victory motorcycles, that didn’t work well but I loved the motorcycles. My problem with the Goldwing is leg space, with a long inseam I’ve got a problem. I think the BMW r18 has the same problem even though I think that’s a beautiful motorcycle. I just bought my first Harley, first time it’s been in the price vs performance battle for me and there doesn’t seem to be any metric touring bikes other then that that are worth considering. So I finally bought a Harley which seems to have low mileage and lower cost motorcycles everywhere right now.

I've been riding since 1982 why all the pigeon holing of Riding styles. Big bikes. Sport tours are for dads since when when I was 18 I tore the Eastern seaboard with a full fairing and a goldwing. There's certain bikes for certain disciplines and techniques. When you're 18. You want the same comfort as you do when you're 80. Maybe you can tolerate more, but you'd certainly like to have more.

I wanted to thank you very much for making this video! My buddy and I were able to successfully perform the service on my own '05 VN800A. One hack I would like to mention, since I did not have a vise available to me, my buddy had the brilliant idea to reinstall the fork onto the bike and tightened it in order to use it as a vise when needed. 💡

And once you learn how to rebuild the clearly worn out front forks and learn that the rear shock is also pooched and fix both, it handles fantastic.

My first bike, i have a 2009, 900 classic. This is a nice mountain bike. I avoid highways if i can. But i love it, handels and rides amazing, just isnt a bike to do 100. It tops out at 100. But who needs to go 100mph aside from ghosts. Great reliable bike. Just a perfect chill and release stress. Has great torque to just pull, and safe, hard to get pulled over on this bike. Always go Japanese bikes. Quality is great.

Seeing some comments about how the grey wire is supposed to be in the 6 prong connector and that the 2 prong connector with the gray wire you cut was for the kill switch? Is this true or did it work out for you how you described in the video? I have an 02 WR250F wanting to make sure before I go cutting.
@Makswerks1
@Makswerks1 4 месяца назад
This video is 9 years old. I can tell you for sure that wire has nothing to do with the kill switch. This 2001 had the grey wire and cutting it made a big difference on the top end, especially for a heavier rider.

I thought your review was really blah. Its a great bike and I bought a 2002 with 52k on it and the front forks were also spongy. Just needed an oil change and it was good to go. its meant to be a sport tourer and it does that. Its comfortable and runs great and keeps going, has a great gas tank for putting on the miles and gets good mileage doing it. And there is nothing wrong with the looks or the headlight. Maybe you should review lawnmowers or something.
