Hey brohan- why is it people like you continue to put Harley Davidson owner’s in just one specific category and tend to forget us in the minority? I’m 24 years old, dude. I fucking love my ride. At the end of the day, nothing else really matters but with what works for you and will bring you joy.
I just bought a 2007 Electra Glide Classic with 30k miles from Copart for $2000 after all the add on costs $3000 to get it home. The damage is pretty minimal, it was down on the right side with road rash on the bat wing, pannier, and a broken handle bar. I did not expect it to start, all I had to go by were a dozen photos, I never saw it in person. I figured if it didn't run at least it would make a nice piece of yard art. The tow truck delivered it to my house and out of curiosity I tried to start it. MUCH to my surprise it started right up and even had a full tank of gas. I carefully shifted into gear and eased it 20 feet into the back yard. Not easy to do with a broken handlebar. First thing I did was remove the TOUR PACK. It looks much less mastodonic with that off. My big bikes up to now have been BMW R1000RT, Honda ST1100, Kawasaki Concour 1000, BMW K1200RS..This bike dwarfs those bikes. I can't wait to replace the handlebars and take it for a ride. I agree with everything you said in this review, my old Honda CX 500 could probably out run this monster but I am still excited to ride a Harley for the first time.
LOL! I own both an 02 Electra Glide (Stage 1 & 2) and an 08 GoldWing GL1800. I love them both for very different reasons. My old Electra Glide has been coast to coast 3 times. Faithfully! To be honest with you.. I lost count how many times I have been asked if I would consider selling my HOG. Although I have had many peeps tell me how beautiful my Wing is, I have not once had anyone ask if I would sell. Tells you everything you need to know. Side point: You can’t compare an old Electra Glide to a sports bike. They are designed for different things. The Electra Glide is not made for racing or burnouts. It’s made to have an enjoyable cruise.
The Ultra classic is made to Cruise not speed like a goldwing Ive owned both and they both serve there purpose! I now have an ultra and love them both but i sold my Goldwing and i would never sell my Ultra classic
The more I watch this video the more you are mistaken. The Goldwing is not a cruiser. It forces my knees to remain bent in one position only. With floor board and cruiser forward control i can move my legs. I just cross the country on my Yamaha V-star 1300 two up and loved it. I am ready to do it again. I am also currently looking at a FLHTCU Ultra Classic to add to my stable. And by the way I also have BMW C650gt "scooter" which will outperform 50% of all motorcycle out there in all categories, the best two wheeler for around town and beyond. You need to compare bike in the same category. Do they do what they were made to do yes or no. You may not like the bike at all, but it does what it was design for very well. On the other hand the only rides that have made fun of my 30+ bikes in 45+ years of riding, ridiculed, mocked, taunt, teased, and etc., etc. have been Harley Riders.
Same, I have been looking at that same style Megaladon for months now. I am still pumped about riding that American Icon until my Iron Butt falls off...lol Thanks for the great review.

you don`t ride a bagger in the city cause it`s just stop and go !!! it`s for the open road wherever that is...the open road is 5 minutes from my house and then i ride and don`t stop....and the roads are pretty good....i`m approx 1hr north of Toronto, Ontario...canada......it`s real nice country....i hate and i don`t ride into the city...it`s just all bad news...so don`t bad mouth the big heavy ultra classic get yourself a Honda moped etc etc !!!! plus you should know better.....
My thing has always been price vs performance with some accessories that either subtract or add depending on what it has. Needless to say I’ve owned a lot of metric motorcycles. At least until I ran into Victory motorcycles, that didn’t work well but I loved the motorcycles. My problem with the Goldwing is leg space, with a long inseam I’ve got a problem. I think the BMW r18 has the same problem even though I think that’s a beautiful motorcycle. I just bought my first Harley, first time it’s been in the price vs performance battle for me and there doesn’t seem to be any metric touring bikes other then that that are worth considering. So I finally bought a Harley which seems to have low mileage and lower cost motorcycles everywhere right now.
What's a decent 07 like this one worth now? I'd like to have a ultra without spending big money on a newer one. No they aren't fast and all that stuff but they sure are nice when you wanna go for a long trip. I'm planning a cross country trip this summer.
@@Makswerks1 Cool. That's pretty much what I was thinking too. I just don't care about image or the newest biggest engine and all that. Just need a ultra with 6 speed to take a few long trips on. Harleys tend to be well taken care of so I'm not afraid of older bikes and would rather keep the money for actually traveling instead of a 30k price tag on a new one.
You knock the Electra Glide cause of their power but I've got a 98 Glide and it gets down the road just fine and I Love it. I think they're the motorcycle to own

In 2007 there is/was he Yamaha Royal Star Venture. It was the same weight as the Harley but 3.1 inches longer wheelbase. The Yamaha V-Star 1300 Deluxe wheel base 2.5 inches longer. The Kawasaki 800 Vulcan Classic 1 inch longer wheelbase. Those are the ones I remember. I am sure there a BMW, Polaris model and others which will give it run on the size and weight. You need to do your homework before making those statements. You may say your personal feel of the bike, but your statistic need to be correct otherwise you loose credibility. Lastly does the bike does what is made for? Does it pretend to be something it is not?
I bought one a while back, just to try to understand the appeal of the brand. I liked it. I get it. It was basically a loud, rumbly couch on wheels. My neighbors were happy when I sold it. Your review is spot-on. Thanks. ...a machine for "turning gas into noise." hahahaha Poetry!
2008 Electra Glide... Sure, it's a Boat...Slow, Heavy and Everything Else you complained about...All TRUE.. But the Bike is so Reliable and Rock Steady... So easy to Maintain with Lube and Adjustments... Always Turning Heads with her Fishtails and Chrome... so Convenient with abundant Storage Space... Funny guy, ford excursion of bikes, cant beat accord, i think all Harley pathetically slow but it nice ride. All they have to do is give it enough power to be able get out of binds.
You are not worthy of a bike like this. You have to have balls(ladies included) to ride this and obviously you and your boyfriend need to get back on your girly bike.

Why do I watch Harley haters reviewing a touring bike when the bike they like is a local street riding bike! I still gave you a thumbs up, but in the future don't review Harleys since you don't like them to begin with..... I have to edit and add. My Goldwing 1500SE makes that bike look and feel small... Perception creates behavior and behavior creates consciousness and consciousness creates your world. Your perception of a Harley creates your hatred of Harleys. They are great bikes for what they are built for - enjoyment of the soul, not for racing, street bike antics, riding fast in the twisties. Review what the bike was made for not what you perceive it should be made to do in your judgement. BTW, Victory Vision was in production, BMW K1200LT along with the GW1800 (which I owned) were all competitors of the HD Electra Glide. The Electra Glide series outsold them all combined. Now that tells the real story of why Harleys are great bikes! My 2003 Road King CVO with the 103 cu in will smoke your speed triple off the line to legal speeds with two up riding, up hill... Yes, torque will do that over HP. REMEMBER, HP is the product of TORQUE and RPM divided by 5250.... HP is a math number, not an actual measurable number.... Uphill, reduced radius, two up, in top gear will kill your Speed Triple. My 103 cu in will flat out get it. That is what torque is all about, diesel or not.
