Great video! Quick question. I have an oven and I have done home PCoating in the past. If I want to redo the rims on my side by side, Can I just get the fronts blasted to remove the black PC and then apply powder and bake (leaving the existing black coating on the inside and back of the rims? Hope that makes sense.
They really bounce around, its up to the distributor to name the price, gema does not do a good job of setting min. pricing. Electron guns are 4500, same if not better technology, light built in, 120 kv, 120 ua, bluetooth and more. If your interested check out www.ctsainc.com
I will set my gun up and spray a color and 2 days later load another color and my gun will just spray continuously. usually I can turn settings up and down and get it to stop but sometimes not. Do you know what I am doing wrong?
after sandblasting, I clean my parts with dionized water (no minerals so won't flash rust) and them outgass them which dries them simultaneously, works perfectly for most parts, although I sometimes use degreaser to remove extra contaminates for older/dirtier/rustier parts and seems to work very well and give great results
This is awesome to see an expansion good on you! i’ve just recently been given an amazing opportunity. i am 18 years old, live in Australia and have been given a powder coating job on $30 on hour. i have been watching a bunch of your videos to learn and make sure i’m doing the right things, the business is very small but it’s undergoing a big expansion as well, it’s a one man set up right now that i run but with the expansions will be me and 2 others!
Its more for the metal than for the booth itself, Id say 100 for what you saw in the video, I also have a large fan I could sell too but need to look it up as it was a lot
Subscribe to see this new building get cleaned out and outfitted with new Equipment from Electron Powder Coating. Yes I sell the stuff and yes I use it. Want info? email me at dan@ctsainc.com
so im starting a powder coating business and ill be running a 12x12x26 oven and booth but for air im thinking of going with Ingersoll Rand 15.hp 120 gal tank 50cfm with air dryer. Do you think it will do the job
On some re coat stuff I've done. I found that everything I wiped would leave streaks where the cloth rubbed. So I saturated the whole job on prep wash , dried it in the oven and problem solved. All I do is switchboards though. Love your channel, learned heaps. Would love to take a working holiday over to USA and hone my skills.
Hey Dan, I bought an Electron e-coat from you 7-8 months ago. I’m still pretty new to powder coating but am getting pretty good results so far. One thing I’m struggling with is orange peel. Was wondering if you could give me a couple pointers. Thanks
Just checked out your 10 tips for beginners. I’m trying to get into powder coating for my own personal stuff. Old 72 Chevy truck. Retired 2 1/2 years ago. Want to learn how to do this truck for myself. May take me 20 more years. Hopefully I’ll get it done. Thanks again for your knowledge.I’m building an oven. It’s been a real challenge. But almost there. 15 months and counting. Thanks again
I have a product that I powder coat all of the metal parts (3) by warming them first for about 5 minutes at cure temperature. The warmer temperature of the parts makes the powder coating always come out glass smooth. If done cold, I am never sure if I’m going to get a finish that doesn’t have some orange peel. When heated first for 5 minutes they ALWAYS are glass smooth. They don’t have to be cure temp just warmer. My guess is that the powder gets to the point of flowing out sooner and has more time while baking to flow out totally smooth.
