Thank you for sharing this, I don't follow a specific belief system but am just spiritual in general and adopt ideas from different religions and spiritual practices so it's hard finding books like this.
Here's a better way for people to understand the count down thing, as i have done it. Pick a number 30 for example. Tell yourself you are going to countdown and orgasm in that amount if time. It's possible. Doesn't matter how slow you count just focus on the end goal and counting and clear your mind. We have more power then we think. Thats using sexual energy obviously but the same thing. Why does it take some people 3 hrs and some 10 seconds .. mental. Thats why
I feel like I fall at the first hurdle. I’m dyslexic with poor short term memory, I have dyscalculia so struggle with numbers, getting them in order, remembering what comes next etc. And I’m ADD/ADHD , there is always background chatter in my head. Always! So ... basically, to do the first exercise, as described is an impossibility. Heartbreaking
Yep, I'm neurodivergent too. I wish Mat had been clearer, does he mean mind wandering or background chatter? I can do the countdown (at 10 at the moment) but I can hear occasional background chatter in my head, I can keep focus though. So does this mean I have to start again, if there's occasional background chatter does that mean you haven't mastered it? Or does he mean nothing but the numbers, only the numbers? If that's the case then I too am defeated, being ADHD, I always have background chatter. The vid is good, but that awful woozy jazz muzack in the background on incessant repeat is both irritating and distracting, I couldn't stand it any more and stopped at 9:30. I would have thought given this lovely lady has ADHD herself she might consider something like that and make the vid more ND friendly.
Hi, I'm still new to the practice and I just stumbled upon your video. It's great that the author gave advice on how to use the book to its full potential. I also struggle with meditation and visualization of my intentions, I have attention and concentration issues due to epilepsy. The book seemed really interesting but also very daunting for me when a while ago I looked for reviews on YT so that stopped me from buying it, but your video gave it a new perspective and I'm definitely going to get it now 🙂 Thanks for the video. I'm from Savannah, one of the first things you learn as a kid about Spanish Moss is look, but do not touch. It's filled with tiny red mites we called chiggers. They're horrible and difficult to get rid of. Avoid wild spanish moss the way you would poison ivy.
I don't think that counting down from 100 is any different than reciting Hail Mary's. You recite the prayer repeatedly until it becomes words without meaning. For those that balk at my nod toward Catholicism I would suggest the simple song; "One-hundred Bottles of Beer." Recite the song until the words no longer have meaning.
That had absolutely nothing to do with magic or witchcraft at all. That was basic 101 how anything gets done in life. The rest was just a bunch whining and complaining about the word intention. Dear Goddess I can’t stand the Gen Z witches of today.

I am pagan and a witch, but I accept my Catholic background, grew up surrounded by Catholic folk magic and religion from southern Spain... there's nothing wrong with accepting the influence of Christianity. I didn't know I was practicing folk magic until I went to live to an English speaking country. For me it was just magic, 'white magic' we call it. Very good points were made.

I believe he was referring to Tom Hatsis' book on flying ointments? I'd seen this book before and wasnt sure if it would be that useful as far as practical information went. But I think I'm gonna go ahead and buy it on his recommendation.
Yule is not something we can seperate from Winter Solstice at all. Yule is the celebration of the sun returning after the darkness of the longest night of the year.
If you live somewhere that doesnt have a noticeable dark season, then celebrating Yule wont make any sense. You should observe nature where you are and not try to superimpose the holidays from a completely different bio-region.

In a sense if people take out the words and religious aspects from the wheel of the year, like brigid or candlemas etc, then what you get is a more truer observance of the solar cycle and the seasonal shifts. So yes look at the wheel of the year as a way to measure time and the seasonal shifts, and you get the natural seasonal agricultural shifts. When to farm what foodstuffs and raise what animals according to that region. When to make what food kind and where. Lol. So winter solstice, summer solstice, equinoxes, etc. So no more need for deity names, its just the seasonal names and shifts. Or maybe the deity names were originally just a normal name for a certain agricultural or seasonal observance. The other thing i noticed was that the story or stories based on the culture and region was a great way to help remember and retell the "story" of the solar cycle and agricultural year. And how to properly remember and follow it 😉. For example, the "easter sunday" also follows in line with the maypole in "may". When its a good time for couples to make babies 😉. Think about it. Couples get together and conceive, then it takes about 10 months, and by the time theyre born, the newborns are generally born when theres enough food for the couple and so also boob-milk for the newborn. So valentines day is around the time when individuals find their partner and the whole flirting etc. And then maypole for when to conceive. Etc. Not just an agricultural measurement but generally the "circle or cycle of life".
Interesting. Sounds like using herbology and plant magic in order to astral travel. I would be careful astral travelling and make sure you have protections and shields up for both your astral self and your body, before you go out and do it. You dont know what things or entities can be there in the astral realm. And also if you do astral travel, then that means your body is an empty shell and can be possessed. And then you may be stuck and may not get back into your body back. So yes make sure you have plenty of shields and protections and charms so you can safely astral travel and safely get back to your body. Heh. And yes herbology and plant magic can be very healing and magically helpful and medicinal. Or they can mess with your brain and body and mess with your thoughts and feelings and all around life. Jist like the current hospital and pharmacy pills and drugs nowadays 😉. Moral of the story is: know what youre ingesting and putting on your skin and body 😉. And also animals, all animal body parts, animal characteristics and aspects, and so animal magic. You can take in the concepts of camoflaging chameleons, patience of spiders and the concept of weaving or clothes making (dream weaving or weaving spells ;) ) or strength of bears, and the intelligence and cunning and independence of cats, and the speed and agility of hummingbirds, and etc and use it to work with animal magic. 😀. (P.S. you can read fantasy stories and play video games that include magic and learn their magic system and try them out, safely. I got the dream weaver spider idea from one of my favorite fantasy books 😉). (Also i had meant to say this in the last vid but i kinda sorta got carried away with the issue with garbage. Apologies lol. But yes you can technically work and use garbage as a form of magic and energy. However that can be incredibly dangerous since your working with a hodgepodge or mess of different elements and energies all garbled together, and/ or all broken. Thus making any ritual work and spellwork garbled and chaotic. But yes you can technically do that. Its just incredibly dangerous and more risk than reward. Using the purest and cleanest elemental magics and energies is typically the most easiest and strongest and most powerful and most effective. But yes technically you can use garbage magic. It will be horrendously dangerous and chaotic though).
