Mark Ford and Greg Smith are your hosts for interesting and personal discussions about baseball cards and what they mean to them. If you are looking for PSA 10’s and investment advice this isn’t for you. If you interested in the personal connections, stories, and impact card collecting has had on our lives then we hope you will watch and enjoy our channel. May be PG13 at times but we promise you it will be real.
I sold a couple of Luke Skywalker cards for $1 a few years ago, but that was because I was new to online selling and clueless. I think people sensed that and didn't ride me too badly.
Fun fact you may not know. Jerry Butler has the 4th best fantasy week ever recorded by a player. September 23, 1979 vs the Jets. 10 receptions 267 yards and four touchdown catches.
I avoid Hall-of-Fame debates, because they often end up criticizing players for all the things they didn't do, rather than what they did. That said: * Mike Trout's top five seasons by bWAR: 10.5, 10.5, 9.9, 9.6, 8.9 * Sandy Koufax's top five: 10.7, 10.3, 8.1, 7.3, 5.7 * Kirby Puckett's top five: 7.8, 7.1, 5.7, 4.9, 4.3 * Joe Mauer's top five: 7.8, 5.9, 5.8, 5.6, 5.5 * Justin Morneau and Michael Young: no seasons of 5.0 or better Trout is a no-doubt Hall-of-Famer who deserves to be in based on peak value. (Ditto Koufax, of course. And in my opinion, ditto Puckett and Mauer.) The only center fielders ahead of Trout in bWAR for their best 7 seasons combined (WAR7) are Willie Mays and Ty Cobb. Too bad the second half of Trout's career wasn't as good as theirs, but hey, if it was easy to play 20+ full seasons, everyone would do it.
That parade looks like it was a great time. Lake Mary is a cool little suburb of Orlando. So glad they could bring Floridas first LLWS title home after 9 tries. Way to go CHAMPS!!!
I’ll piggyback on the previous comments and add that there were a lot of relatable thoughts and feelings in this one. Lots of layers. But then I saw Greg offer and get two more 71s on Facebook about an hour ago?! 🤣
I like Nitty Gritty Dirt Band enough (Mr. Bojangles was their first big hit BTW) that I went to see John McEuen play with another NGDB alumni in Rifle Colorado, probably around 6 or 7 years ago and it was enjoyable. But he set himself up for your insult and he deserved it. Did he expect everyone to be impressed?
Fun show and some cool cards. 👍 Always a great watch. I love the Peace River. A lot of great memories for me on that river. I am born and raised in the Miramar. Cheers.
