I remember fiddling around with Arts combinations and writing them down for future playthroughs though the replays ended at the third one since the disc got scratched up to hell. Thank goodness for emulation.
There’s something about body horror and horrific transformations that is fascinating in those games. This type of graphics gives you a slight suggestion of what it could look like, but your imagination does the rest, it points you in a direction. And yeah, the Japanese creative minds have created some properly f’ed up scenarios and characters… need more content lol
I remember finding the giant cactus boss randomly as a kid without seeing any guides of any sorts. For a whole week I was trying on and off to kill it. Never been able to haha 😂 I knew it was a big secret in the game since finding that boss was quite an obscure task in itself. But I ultimately gave up at some point 😅
I spent like all day playing Route A after watching this video, and man this game is just bizarre in the best way. I have no idea what to think of it, but man I'll be thinking about it for a while
I did it on PS 1 and filled a whole memory card with saves to do it. I only got it because of the Official Strategy guide. Something that takes under 12hrs of game time is actually 30hr-50hrs of loading saves to see if there's a faster way to get to point a to b. Once I got it I charged $10 for copies of the saves.
I started ff9 and said okay am I playing to max everything I can or get Excaliber 2.So here I am 114 hours in (I forgot to turn the game off or had to quit out before save areas) and just got to the end of Ipsen's Castle. I could have done this quicker but I have 3 kids and its been since I was a little kid watching my older brother play since I have taken the time to pick it back up.
I remember this. It was for hardcore players and of course it was more of a trophy weapon even though it had the highest stats. I thought it was worth it! >.<
I love seeing obscure games get covered, and you did some wonderful work on this one. Just finished watching, and I intend to check out your other vids. I hope you cover the other stories in greater detail. Liked and subbed!
It's strange because you cannot normalize physical and sexual violence in this way. If it were normalized Japan would be absolutely overrun with gang violence and all the like. And yet we don't have that. When GTA was at its highest sales we did not have murders come about from it it seems that the restriction on media and the downturns of trying to prevent this catharsis has only LED two more violence or at least fat or paranoia. And shame of our inner demons.
Idk how but this video managed to keep my attention despite my embarrasingly low attention span. i was playing a game when i started watching this video but then i couldnt even focus on the game which is rare trust me
I never understood the point of putting ultimate weapons near the end of the game, 2nd playthroughs or in ExGames like Starocean 3. I mean what are you going to use it on? ult weapons should be optional no further than 2/3rd of the way through or through some tedious process like starocean 2's Eternal Sphere is a perfectly useful ult weapon
I had to check if satoshi kon had involvement with this due to the artstyle and nature of the content, but he didn't. I guess this style was just somewhat common for the time
The point about the time is very true. I grew with ps1 resident evil. When the resident evil 4 og came out on ps2 i didnt considered an resident evil. Fast pacing, you can save it freely, you just had to move forward so no need to backtracking. Didnt felt like a resident evil. I played tho and liked. The times had changed but i didnt at that time. It was another console so the game had to be different. The aim was another generation wich saw games different. Now that i had played the resident 4 remake i see how much that game was not made for me. But like you said, im older now, i understand why the changes were made. Great video bro.
Never saw your channel before. RU-vid recommended. Never heard of this game. I really mean it. Damn, what a great video. Im subscribing to you right now and im gonna watch your others videos. Thanks so much for the enterteinment.
should not have bough, you did right thing. they would be captured on their way back Now about this game: 😯 how could i never of such a gem, wanna play this
I never attempted getting this weapon because there are attacks that can hit 9999 damage when invested. Zidane=Thievery, Quina=Frog Drop, Freya=Dragon Crest. I preferred to take my time enjoying the game.
omg i was wondering if anyone would make a video like this since the game came out! I truly adore this game, I think i’m on Day 18 at the moment, and loving it! There’s so much to do everyday and it never gets boring or stale and i love just running around and exploring! The NPCs are all genuinely interesting as well and have nice dialogue that isn’t just the same every time u talk to them, which seems kinda rare nowadays lol. I cannot recommend it enough!
Honestly I think the dark, quiet and creepy music fits perfectly for exploring unknown ancient ruins. I'd love to see the series continued but I doubt it'd be half as good as the first was.
I think these secrets were very clear in the books or magzines which talking about PS games 2 decades ago (at least in Asian countries). So, almost every child knew these things but one--the shadow creature in that lake. When I was a teenager, I've never heard or red anything about it! TXH 4 sharing this video, for I could know even more about FF8!
According to the Japanese wikipedia article on the game, the PlayStation and Sega Saturn versions have a fourth secret scenario. Its like scenario C where you gotta collect 100 animald but this time its a time trial mode and you only have a year. No idea how to unlock it.
I've got the game on PC, and there is no fps slow-down, and better distance draw, so if you can, I'd check out that version! But either way, it's a lovely way to experience a Japanese countryside summer in 1999 Japan! It's so peaceful, and you can take all the time in the world. In addition, if you're learning Japanese at all, it's got some very good basic Japanese! (Though most spoken dialogue doesn't have a pause between lines) And if you've ever been to Japan, it's a pretty good nostalgic feeling.
