If you use out side stuff you need to treat it and make it safe for the animals i get all my driftwood and leaf litter from outside i do use all bioactive enclosures with live plants so you will get random insects from lowes dirt or home depot same as plants but ya add springtails and isopods if you want a fun enclosure that keep you involved with your reptile def try bio do your research but i have def enjoyed the live plants and my reptiles seem to absolutely love it and thrive so well. I wanted my reptiles to feel as much as in wild as possible and with the cleanup crew not alot of clean up maintenance
The only reptiles I have cohabbed was when I used to bread leopard geckos the key to doin it us size of enclosure I make all my enclosures and this one was huge I kept 2 females and 1 male they all need there own areas but never put 2 males togather they will kill each other but I never had any problems and they actually thrived and had many many eggs over the time I had looking at getting 1 of these I have wanted for while only thi g I have at moment is hognose snakes that I breed but I do want 1 of these
What substrate do you use for your ball pythons bioactive enclosure? I was gonna use organic topsoil from home depot but haven't gotten any yet, suggestions?
That baby tried to punk the bigger lizard naturally. Would've been a snack but nature told baby to assert lizard dominance. Dominant lizard told itself to snack on the new threat.
Reptile hobbyist right here! I absolutely recommend arcadia bulbs/fixtures to any new people joining the community. They are perhaps the best performing on the market, and are worth the higher cost! Their lifespan greatly compensates for it!
He probky knew from the start that it was to help her get papers, it was more than likely arranged but now she taking advantage of the situation when it was supposed to be an amicable split
I had two baby bearded dragons. They were both females. But i guess for some reason one of them changed to a boy. Which is wild btw. I thought it was fine. But i was ignorant. I woke up to a gruesome scene that wasnt even finished yet. Bearded dragon A had the other in its mouth. Bearded dragon B's foot was completely swolen. He couldnt close his mouth, nothing but blood covering its entire head. They were both damn near the same size so i could only imagine how long it was going on before i even woke up. But it went on for like an hour afterwards as well. Life lesson learned.
