This is so helpful! Im starting at Mayo (same area) in a few weeks and i was curious what the first day will be like. I know we have different positions but it's nice to see what it could be like.
I did everything you mentioned in this video. I used prep tests and used the notes precisely as you described. I followed all the guidelines and tried to cover all the relevant criteria in the scenario, but somehow, I got a 1st quartile score. I am still trying to figure out what was wrong, and I believe I did everything right. They refused to explain my mistakes, so I have no idea what to do in the next cycle.
Taking my Casper two days from now, just got my MCAT scores back a few days ago, stressful times lol! All I can say is this video is such a huge help and you're an inspiration Kevin, Godspeed!
Did you end up getting into any Canadian medical schools? If so, what factors influenced you to continue medical school in America over Canada, Espicially considering the difference in tuition ?
While, I agree with the rest of the video it highlights some very interesting points I just wanted to note: 0:55-1:24, something being discounted is that a lot of people who have a perfect gpa also have other extracurriculars, internships, etc but still put in the work to study day after day. And while a task might seem robotic, multiple jobs (such as engineering, technician, doctor , or even labor jobs) involve a lot of pure grinding in tasks that may seem boring but are important. sports practices sometimes involve drills that might seem repetitive or grinding but they are important in developing your overall character and results. Also multiple classes such as (Physics C, Calculus BC) require actual understanding and creative uses of techniques to solve problems not just repetivtive drilling. cheers mate
Good video, but when he said he got into his top med schools BECAUSE he did well in his PREVIEW exam, I bursted out laughing. 🎶why you always lying🎶We all know you got in because of other aspects of your app. These Medfluencers always fluff up stuff lmao but thanks for the vid
Surely there are many many qualified applicants who applied to the same schools as him. The preview is probably like a tie breaker between two equally qualified applicants
Preview doesnt matter. Crazy saying "i got accepted to my dream schools BECAUSE i got a good score on preview". There are dozens of people on reddit posts alone saying they got 1/9 on preview and getting accepted to schools that REQUIRE preview.
Definitely agree with you. I misspoke- it’s been a year since I last filmed haha 😂. The process is definitely not as transparent so not clear always what’s going on with admissions. However, it’s always good to try and do your best on these assessments to the extent that they may influence admissions. Thanks for you input!
