@@Nasahikes I am still learning to identify trees, I know that one as it is my FAVORITE type of tree. They actually have tulip like flowers when the start leafing out. Love them.
Rocks, swamps, overgrown trails…Pennsylvania has a lot going on. Absolutely loved the porcupine and the evening rainfall! When I was a special-needs teacher, we use to have a yearly wildlife assembly and the live porcupine was always a favorite of the children.
I loved hiking that section. You did an outstanding job shooting the video thru the beaver dam area. That was difficult! I saw a Bobcat on the trail a few miles before Swatara. Very cool.
I pass through this area when I visit my son in Penn State. I’ll have to make a stop to see this cute town next time. Thanks for the views, love sunrises and sunsets!
Having met everyone involed I don't see a reason for a reason. You are all good people that came together at one time and you've managed to hike as a group for a long while. Just because one is right, doesn't mean the other is wrong. If angry words were spoken, I would apologize and move on, but it ain't me out there.
Hellooo my new friend across the pond! I’ll get right on that wish list ☺️☺️ Also, if you’re interested in getting a foreign perspective on the AT my friend Firefox is also vlogging her trek @ More Hikes Less Worries 😁 I make some cameo appearances on there well hehe
I walked part of this section of the trail on my July visit. Took similar videos of Children’s Lake, the Veteran’s Park, and “The Bubble”. So cool to see the rest of it!
It was so generous of you to leave the trail to meet and spend time with us. Truly, it was the highlight of our trip! We love your videos, and this one made me cry! Keep growing tree. Keep going, NASA! 💙
I love all your videos because of their focus on nature and the trail, and this one was absolute immersion! I know I’ll watch it multiple times. I even said aloud, “Keep growing tree” at the tree hug! Keep going, NASA! 🥾
It looked like Fire Fox was getting ready to hurl. That zip line was pretty cool and everyone loves to swing. It looks like a hot windless day. I don't see any rocks.
Congrats on making it to Harper's Ferry. Hope you had a chance to visit the Appalachian Trail Conservancy Headquarters and museum there. Love the format where there is minimal dialog during the video. Let Nature do the talking for you! The sound of your footsteps is like a mantra. The mourning dove, the red tailed hawk, the CSX railroad, the 747 overhead, the crackling sound of the power lines, and even all the raindrops hitting the camera all made for awesome audio - hahaha. Say what's on your mind if you think we should hear it, but no need to feel like you have to talk to have a nice video of your experiences.... unless what you are saying is part of it, of course. Jumping with both feet into the puddles brought back memories and made me laugh out loud. Keep it up!
@@Nasahikes let me know if you ever find out. I have raised wolf spiders in my garden and keep them safe from the birds and some are as big as my whole entire hand. These critters can get big if they’re smart and safe
Hey! Tip. Tighten or tuck straps and loose stuff on back and bottom of pack. Getting caught or even snagged can throw you off and cause bad fall when traversing rocks or fallen/downed trees.
I walked three miles in the wrong direction during a severe storm - It's extremely disheartening to realize that "yes, you were making great time and moving fast," but "it was in the wrong direction."
