Wow. That older Miata is way more practical than an ND. They don't even have space for a spare tire. I had no idea the older models had way more trunk space, plus a spare. That's plenty enough practical for me. I'm gonna have to get creative with my ND Miata. Luckily I'll most likely always be single so shopping will be pretty easy.
Today’s commentator is WAY TOO PICKY, It’s NOT a Porsche, dufus. You’re CAMELa Harris cackle made me mute the sound!!! This is the only Negative commentary from an inexperienced young rich kid BRAT.😡CB
Nice video man! I know it's been a while since you uploaded this but i'm gonna try anyway. I'm in the market for new coilovers and these are on my list too. Just a little worried about rubbing as im running 15x7.5s with an offset of 30. With 195/55/15 tyres. I saw you rolled your fenders because you run 15x8 with 25 offset, i was hoping i wouldnt need to. Any thoughts on this?
i just got my license 3 days ago my grandparents are giving me this car cause it was my grandpas, he loved it and looking at it now i think i’ll like it too, perfect for my size lol.
Jeez, never done any mechanical work and you do the timing belt without fuckin it up? Impressive as a shade tree mechanic that always struggles whatever the job.
Not sure why so many are negatively criticizing the ‘hot air’ aspect and lack of performance gain. As noted, it’s really not about that. Additionally, the air going through that cone filter is no more hot than what’s going in the stock air box, so it’s a silly argument... A heat shield is an option of course, and having the exhaust headers ceramic powder coated by a reputable firm like Swain Tech would do wonders for under hood temperatures. Heck, powder coat the heat shield while you’re at it.
It is absolutely more hot air than the original OEM box. Fact. Only with a heat shield it will give a power gain because of that. Although you might find half an hp in high revs without it ;-) Cold air is everything....
Thank you for a great review. My fathers Toyota just died a week ago and were semi considering on this car. The price of today for this model and how great it is as a day to day car is just perfect for a elderly man
Hey thanks for nice video and helped me make a decision. I did notice that it only looks like exhaust is exiting on the passenger side and not driver side. Is that still the same after many years of use if you still have it.
Same noise when closing door as for delay on manual shift let off as you shift and no delay and for the best sounding exhaust I've heard so far replace front resonator with a flo pro twister then rear muffler delete
Excellent. How do you feel about also having a small fire extinguisher? I'v also heard it's good to have a seat belt cutter and glass braking tool. what do you think?
Broke some ebay coild on mine and was looking for reviews on these, your miata almost looks like a carbon copy of mine same roof and body color same side skirts but a different lip and wheels!
Yeah certainly could go lower with those coils. From the instruction manual: "The range of adjustment in the V-Maxx shocks allows you to lower the car to the point of uselessness" + the great handling so im sold
Thanks for all of the good information about the V-maxx Classic setup. You're one of very few reviewers that comment on the difference in ride and handling that really illustrate the changes in how it feels. Your input helped me decide to go with the V-maxx Classic as opposed to the XXtreme setup. Unrelated question...What radio antenna is that or where did you get it? How is the reception? I've been trying to find a replacement for my powered one that fits the lines of the car, like yours does. Thanks!
Very nice, short and to the point vid, young man. Thank you. I am putting together a similar kit also. An addition I'd add is HF blue tarp and maybe a blue moving blanket, couple pairs of nitrite gloves, flares.
When i start my 2002 miata 1.8 vvt it idles at 500rpm until warm. Even if motor is cold or at operating temp if you quickly flick the throttle or floor it from a complete stop. It dies or bogs down if you let off fast enough
Ouch, sorry to hear that! I would suggest cleaning the throttle body/intake system as a first step, and after that the forums on miata.net are your best friend.
I agree with Cars and Kelley. I cleaned my intake manifold, throttle body and MAF sensor (make sure you use throttle body cleaner for intake manifold and throttle body and a MAF sensor cleaner for the MAF sensor. Common sense I know, but you'd be surprised) and it's performing alot better. Also I ended up changing my PCV valve. One mistake I had made is I didn't put in a new gasket for the intake manifold and throttle body, which I should have done (I just didn't have the time then).
