@@mechanicalnut7866 oh nice! They’re good vehicles. We just needed the extra space after getting a dog and decided that we were spending more time setting up the bed/boiling water for an outdoor shower than we were relaxing, so we built a fixed bed and and a shower. We have got a Timelapse of the new van conversion but the dog chewed up an SD card with 7 days of footage on it, so it needs some clever editing and we’ve just not had the time to sort it 🙈😂
Thank you so much! Good luck with your build! We’ve actually done another van since this one, which we’ll be uploading the timelapse soon, so we’ll possibly follow up with a costs video.
It was the EGR valve so it was about £150 for the part and then James’ brother who was a mechanic at the time, fitted it for us :) we then just had to replace the clutch/flywheel and didn’t have any problems with it after that and it ran perfectly.
Thank you so much 😊 good luck with your build progress 😁 we actually did the electrics ourself so bought all the wiring separately and the switch board was from eBay.
I'm considering converting my existing panel van bought new 2 years ago. No longer required for its original purpose. I've watched thousands of hours of video around the subject. You two have hit the sweet spot! Fabulous video and even more so the realistic inspiration and confidence you instill Thank you sooooooooo much. Love all you do....and the way you do it
Mark Thompson thank you so much for the kind comment! Hopefully it’s given you some help/inspiration 😊 good luck with your build if you decide to do one!
AWESOME LOOKING VAN!!! Great job guys, had you not said you were not pros, I don't think anybody would know as this conversion looks stunning. I actually would believe you were a professional company converting vans for a living. Great job guys. This is a beautiful looking van, to say the least!!!
👏 amazing. So few questions, the leisure battery fits snugly under the drivers seat? And second, where do you store your gas? Do you use LPG or something else?
Ollie Barker thank you 😊 yes we had to select an extra slim style battery to fit under the seat, the seat is raised due to the swivel base, so it fit nicely and we ensured terminal covers were fitted securely. The gas goes in a gas locker under the kitchen units, it’s just a 4.5kg Calor gas bottle. You can see exactly where it is in our van tour video 😊
Awesome guys, hey you want to pack your bags come to Brissy Australia and convert my LWB 4 motion "he he" just joking but really fab job people go and enjoy.
Haha thank you 😊 we’re actually in the process of converting our new van, a Sprinter! We’d love to visit Australia one day 😁 although we’re not going anywhere at the minute with lockdown in the UK. Good luck with your van 😊
mr anonymous thank you 😊 we actually had a pop top fitted after the conversion! That being said, we’ve now sold the T5 and upgraded to a Sprinter 😁 so a new time lapse will be coming soon!
Bikepure hey! Yeah we put the purple suede behind the wardrobe/cupboards too so they all had a nice backing to them 😊 The window surround was screwed into place but we ensured the screws would be hidden behind the worktop and over head units 😁
Haha we did joke saying that we should start a business but what you don’t hear/see in the time lapse is how much swearing that happened 😂 it certainly wasn’t always a fun process 🙈
I also love to build one but here in India this camper culture is not welcome, and it's not safe even to sleep in such campers. But good to see ppl are enjoying it. All the Best :)
