This is a great album, getting back a bit to their guitar roots and only really spoiled by 'that song' which should have been replaced by 'Hazy Shade of Winter' and given to Whitney Houston to record, as Vicki once alluded to. And mentioning Ms. Petersen, is 'Crash & Burn her greatest 2 minutes and 37 seconds?

What I can't understand is how Miles lost his copywright for this...Nothing personal against Marcus, But I think Miles trusted him way too much...As a writer, I'm not giving up control of my art....
You don’t know what you’re talking about, Miles didn’t lose any copyrights. What happened was his lawyer at the time stupidly agreed to sign Miles’s publishing over to Warner Bros as part of their contract for signing Miles. Miles was pissed about that. Miles let Marcus Miller compose the music because of that issue. Marcus wrote this music at Miles’s request, Marcus didn’t do anything to Miles, that was his lawyer.

Although the Bangles were at heart a guitar band, Manic Monday and 'Egyptian' are the acceptable outer limits and this is one of the great pop albums of the 80's.
